Bay Area Tire & Auto Service

Was referred here by my old mechanic Milton at Linden Auto in SSF. Got charged $40 to check the camber and go around the block in the car to hear a noise. They said they will fix my alignment for $200 when alignment is advertised $60. Feels like Snake Oil to me.

Have use them for a few years after my old place closed up. Price was $60 which isn't the cheapest but the place is in a convenient area for waiting (coffee and sandwich shops nearby).

However, I recently brought a vehicle to them and was informed they have essentially raised the service price another 30% to $80.00. To their credit they did mention it ahead of time, calling "if" you need your rear wheels aligned. Well, usually you do. I had a busy schedule and gave them a shot again, and sure enough it was now up to $80 for the alignment.

I think they are competent, as most alignments are. But for around $150 (with frequent coupons) you can get a "lifetime" alignment package with many places such as Firestone, Wheel Works, etc. (which also includes routine "inspections" that might be helpful, if seen beyond their "upsell" intent). I prefer small businesses. I've probably spent $300-400 here on alignments of my old vehicles. Although I returned this time from customer loyalty and having a short window to get this done, going forward I'll just gamble on a "lifetime" alignment elsewhere and hope I keep the car long enough to get another two alignments and I'll be ahead of the game.

Under the new ownership, the $5 off discount for change oil DOES NOT apply here. That deal is from the previous owner. But they will probably renew that deal in the future since I have now notified the owner.

I initially called Jiffylube in Daly City and checked how much they would charge for my car's oil change service. I'm so alarmed that they were charging me $70. ~ then I found this business on Yelp, I spoke to Anthony, who happened to be the owner, and the call receptionist who said he will do the service himself since the business isn't so busy at the moment anyways.

I told him I'm bringing my own synthetic oil and filter, would that be okay? Gladly, he said yes, and he'll only charge me $20 for service, and nothing else. I left the car to him. 30 minutes after, he calls me saying the car is ready for pickup. True to our agreement, the car is ready on time, in great condition, and everything else. I'm very happy with the service. Will definitely be a regular customer.

Shoutout to Anthony, he's a professional and loves his work. I do highly recommend this place.

I just came back from this shop. MAAAANNNN - EASY PEASY!!!
I called - "Hi, I have a slow leak in my tire. Can you help?"
Man - "Yes, come down anytime."
I literally hung up and drove the 3 minutes from my work to the shop. I walked up, gave them my keys, 10 MINUTES LATER - I was out the door.
Nail in my tire. These guys found the leak, pulled the nail, patched and sent me on my way, for...wait for it....$20!!!

Woke up this morning only to find I had a really bad flat. Came into this shop and Juno helped me right away. I had a hole in my tire and he patched it up and checked the tire pressure on all my other tires as well. Best part... only 25$ for the whole thing and I was in and out in 20 minutes. Definitely recommend this shop.

This guys are the best. I always buy my own parts that require repacement and when i fix my toyota, honda, bmw, merceds at this place the labor cost never changes unlike many other repair shops that start telling you stories how difficult it is to work on luxury cars and why are they charging you double.
This is my favorite place in the peninsula and i always recommend it to my friends. The first time i found it was years ago. I was calling a dozen repair shops for repair cost estimates and this place was the cheapest around. The quality of work was excellent also.

My homie works and runs this shop. Service is very excellent. I brought in my VW Jetta in for oil filter replacement and new oil, and this shop serviced my car in less than 40 minutes. Unlike the VW dealership in Serramonte which I bought my car there. VW dealership trying to ripped me off, plus they did a shitty job on oil change. VW Serramonte can go suck a fat one.

If you're into the car tuning hobby, then this place has the parts and rims. They' will install it for your car.

Rip-off and incompetence = Avoid!

They did a real shoddy job and RIPPED me off. Claimed they put 6.5 qt oil and charged me $6 extra. But my manual says 5.5 qt max. NEVER did any dealer, private shop, Jiffy Lube, Firestone or Pep Boys charged me extra for additional oil (usually 5 qt).

I saw the tech do the work and he didn't check anything.

I can't believe some of the positive comments from people with few reviews. Guess the insiders pimping it or there are indeed suckers born every minute or something.

PS - Read the filtered reviews. Geesh these guys sure try hard to pump up this sad joint AND Yelp threw out the fake + reviews. Real PATHETIC...

My experience with Bay Area tire was awesome. I brough my car in for an alignment special and they figured out that my car needed some other parts to correct the pulling. They took me under the car to diagnoise and show me the problem with the warn out parts. They showed me what was wrong and in the end didnt even charge me for the alignment. Even though they put the car on the rack and checked the alignment. They prob spent a hour on my car in all. I was very happy.

The guys at this shop are great and not out to screw you like other dealerships in the area.

Wow! Time for another oil+oil filter change and and multipoint inspection...
They did a good, thorough job last week.
They did all that and more:
They topped up my window washer fluid, and even checked the brake rotors, not just the brake pads. Jon reviewed all the problems found with me, and noted what needed fixing.
