How do I love thee, BB&B? Let me count the ways...
1. This is the BEST place for a wedding registry - they don't hassle you EVER when you need to bring something back (you can get cash back instead of credit - I'm talking to YOU, Macy's!). Sure, the website isn't as great as Crate & Barrel and the cookware isn't as deluxe as Williams Sonoma, but they know how to treat customers at this store!
2. 20% off coupons they mail you in abundance (you can use anytime, they ignore expiration dates). Save your coupons and use as many in one shopping trip as you have / one per item. Nice savings, and a way more pleasant shopping experience than Target or the other bargain (Home Depot, I can hardly stand to be in the same room as you!) stores where you can't find help!
3. If something doesn't work, they stand behind their products (bring it back, they'll replace or refund it). I contacted the blanket company when our electric blanket broke, and they were super slow. I finally just brought it in to BB&B, and blammo, they exchanged it right away, no prob (even though by then they carried a different brand).
4. I went there tonight and met Rudy, Window Treatment Super-Stud! Rudy shared his expertise with me (I know nothing about curtains, shades, etc. and am easily intimidated by home decorating - no Martha Stewart here!). Rudy walked me through Windows 101, and I just may get our windows covered without breaking the bank.
5. Around the holidays, they have Hannukah stuff too! How cool is that?! I feel all warm and fuzzy not to be left out.
6. A'Kilah was oohing and ahhing over her display of shower rings (who gets excited over that, right?!), so I figured I'd ask her which shower rings to get. Initially I gravitated toward some that were pretty, but on second thought, they didn't look all that functional. Good idea! I didn't know that choosing the right shower rings could make a difference, but they did. This employee who is strangely passionate about shower rings definitely hooked me up!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jan 4, 2021
They're having a closing sale right now 20-40% on items.
Seems a little late to be doing a review, but Bed Bath & Beyond used to be the place I go with my mom when we get that special 20% off coupon in the mail. Come Dec 2020 and I walked by and saw they were having a closing sale so... no coupon needed.
This place has always been insanely packed with different stuff. I mean, you turn one direction there's stuff to look at, turn the other... more stuff. While I generally only pick up a thing or 2, the most recent visit due to the closing sale I went a little nuts in their health & beauty aisle. Ended up picking up things ranging from toothbrushes to medication to contact lens solution and saved about $80 at the end of it.
Overall, I'm sad they're closing (even without the sales) because it's like a piece of my childhood is going away. Please visit and spend a little money if you can or want or...Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Apr 29, 2017
This particular Bed Bath & Beyond is clean, organized and well stocked with plenty of parking
To me its one stop shopping for kitchenware, bath stuff, linen, seasonal items, artwork, frames etc. Be sure to bring a coupon for 20% off one itemHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jun 29, 2019
TERRIBLE! THIS STORE WILL MAKE UP THEIR OWN POLICIES IN CONTRADICTION TO THE COMPANY'S POSTED POLICIES!!!
I rarely give 1 star ratings simply because I do not enjoy bashing a business and understand that everyone needs to make a living. But today's experience at this location really needs to be shared.
While I typically shop at the Daly City location, I stopped by this location today to do an exchange simple out of convenience to where I was currently located at the time. Upon arriving to the customer service desk, I asked the lady behind the counter if I could drop off my return there while I did my shopping. She gave me a very odd look and proceeded to ask me if I had my receipt. When I confirmed that I did, she asked if she could see it, and then asked me why I was returning it. I informed her that despite the non-stick frying pan stating that it was hard anodized, and the fact that I only used rubber/plastic utensils on it, I could already see light scratches on the surface starting to develop. Something that I would not expect a very expensive cookware item to have an issue with when properly used. She called her manager on duty to see if they could "make an exception", and then shortly informed me that their return policy was 180 days if an item was damaged and they could not process my return. At this time, I pointed out to her that:
A) Their new return policy clearly states that it only applies for purchases made AFTER March 18, 2019
B) The return policy when I made this purchase in Dec 2018 was 365 days from date of purchase as long as I had my receipt (which I did), regardless of condition
C) And even if I was following their made-up 180 day rule that they claimed was in force last year as well, that I would only be past the return window by a week or two at most.
Not to create a scene, I stepped outside and called their 800 customer service line, who confirmed that I still fell within their 365 day return window policy, and promptly called the store for me to inform them of the CORRECT policy and have them return the item. I was informed that the store manager was not in the store at that time, but the manager on duty would take care of it for me.
When I stepped back into the store, I was "greeted" by a stone faced MOD who asked if I was the guy customer service was calling about. When I confirmed it, and I repeated my reason for return, she tried to make it seem like they were making a one-time exception for me and they were following the correct policy the whole time. At first, she could not even see the damage on the cookware and asked me what damage I was even referring to. When I pointed them out to her and repeated that they were light scratches that should not even exist without the use of metal utensils, she tried to infer that I was a liar and that metal utensils were indeed used. She then informed me that if the replacement I was purchasing was damaged, that they would not return it because they don't return damaged items (which is once again in contradiction to their posted return policy). Then as I was walking away after finishing the transaction, she turned towards the cashier and proceeded to state very loudly for my benefit to "throw away" the cookware as if it was some disgusting garbage. Having worked in senior retail management roles for nearly a decade in the past in both the operational side as well as store manager roles, I know that returned items are not simply thrown away immediately after a return is done. They would still need to be marked out of the system (something she does not have access to) and for more expensive items, would still have to go through the RTV process.
I have shopped at several different BB&B locations throughout the years, and have always received outstanding customer service. Both on the purchase side, as well as for the occasional return I might have to make here or there. Unfortunately, the San Mateo location seems to be the outlier and prefers to treat their customers like criminals and make up their own policies in contradiction to what corporate states.Helpful 14Thanks 0Love this 13Oh no 0 - Jan 23, 2015

It's a waste of out time to go to the store, and they don't have the items found in their brochures (ones on sale)!!!!
And they have just started the sale.... why is that? They don't even offer alternatives...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 1344136813632Oct 23, 2011
This store has pretty much everything you need for home.. plus a little more you don't but *must have* because it looks cute or 'may come in useful one day', like the cute individual tupperware cupcake holder I spotted on my most recent visit (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/f0vHFze8t5jOwt-k9WIsWg?select=j1NurcH_5An1MeAP3NbFZg) Or the tiny little, not at all practical cheese grater (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/f0vHFze8t5jOwt-k9WIsWg?select=sQ4U6CL6KEkJ792n4DIlWw).
I especially like this store because it recently came to my rescue when my kitchen scales decided to stop working and not even Target had what I needed. Best part was that I found them here in the sale plus with my coupon I got in the mail just days before I got them for half price. Excellent.
I must be lucky with my visits too because so far I've not experienced a long line at the tills yet. If you only have a few items they often open up a new till for you or send you over to customer service.
Well organised and stocked with friendly helpful staff, no complaints here.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Charlie B.Charlotte, NC8678815569Dec 29, 2017

BB&B will be going bankrupt soon. Many stores have already closed.
Foster City store personnel are lacking in intelligence, sales ability, knowledge of company store policies, etc. They charge for shipping a product that they do not carry in the store. Stores are not stocked properly. The company has a new CEO, etc. but lacks a good, pleasant, sales consciousness culture with necessary skills. It would take years to turn this company around, after years of decline. Really sad!! Really sad as many of us like to shop there.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 29, 2016
Big Bed Bath &Beyond not crowded plenty of parking but the lot is shared with other stores so you may have to walk from your parking spot
Clean store lots to choose from
Sometimes the store is over crowded with items lined up in the walkways so you may have to maneuver around items to walk through the store
Nice staff willing to help with your needs and good suggestionsHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aleth W.Foster City, CA8414Feb 9, 2020
Worse customer service! I'm looking for a duvet cover and in search of the softest. I asked for assistance and recommendations. The sales rep pointed me to the sign that says Duvet Cover and she said look for it. Um ok..i guess that's the extent of it.
