Boombox Storage

Using Boombox was such a better experience than having to lug everything to a storage unit yourself. Both on pick-up and delivery of items the crew was on time, efficient, and super helpful! All of my items were picked up and delivered without issue or incident. I would highly recommend their service to anyone in need of a storage unit who doesn't have a car/want to rent a u-haul, doesn't want to have to move heavy furniture or boxes, and who wants their items securely stored and returned!

I used Boombox Storage back in 2018-2019 when I took a travel sabbatical. During this time, I even had them deliver a mattress and donate some stuff. All of it was super simple.

The customer service was also great. Calvin was VERY responsive and I had a great experience! Would definitely use them again!

Look no further for your storage needs. We have used Boombox for 5 years now-this is my second review - and they are as well-run, economical and friendly as ever. Why drive to a storage facility when you can have your stuff picked up at a set time and have friendly and energetic people show up on time to pick up or drop off. All of your stuff is photographed on your page so you can pick and choose what to store or have delivered. The owner Calvin is accessible via email and super responsive.

Lots to do when you're getting a house ready for sale. The best decision we made was to use Boombox Storage for decluttering. It's economical, easy and the service is fantastic. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

Boombox was extremely efficient. I organized a pickup a few weeks ahead, the movers came and magically fitted everything in the van (with lots of space to spare I might add) and then took it all away for inventorying.

They were fast, communicative, one-time and extremely efficient. The cost is also reasonable too.

Note: I haven't seen the entire process through. This review is only for my experience thus far (putting stuff into storage). I plan on giving an update once I request to retrieve my items.

Apartments in San Francisco don't have much space, unfortunately. I needed to put some stuff into storage, but I don't have a car. Was I going to request an Uber X and shove x amount of boxes in it? Mmmm, if I had no other choice, then yes.

Luckily, Boombox specializes in SEO, apparently. This was the first place that popped up in my search results hahah. It really checked off the boxes for me. Low rates compared to its competitors, and they offer a pickup and delivery service (with a fee, of course).

I messaged them on their website and received responses in less than 20 min. I had no problem booking a pickup for the morning. Calvin was very responsive and helpful!

In terms of booking, you can determine what size storage unit you need (which determines the monthly fee) + your pickup crew. If you need 1 person only, it's free. For 2 people (which is necessary if you have boxes 50+ lbs.), it's... $65 I believe.

My pickup appointment was at 10am, but they arrived early at 9:45am! I love their storage van. It's like this fuchsia color.

Their rules are very straightforward. Pack all items in boxes ahead of time and label the boxes. Pro tip: BE VERY DESCRIPTIVE WITH YOUR LABELING. Within 48 hours, I logged into my account and I could see each of my boxes cataloged. I was really descriptive with most of my boxes but I got lazy with two of them and I'm so mad at myself for it. I labeled two of them as "books". Now how do I tell which box is which? -_-

I can't recommend Boombox Storage enough. I started using them in August 2020 (shortly after the pandemic began) and finally closed up my storage unit this month.

Calvin, who was my main point of contact, was fast, super reliable, and always came back with an answer. If there were any issues (which of course, when you're moving, comes up occasionally), it would get resolved shortly there after. Whether it was getting things delivered, a somewhat more complicated ask, or junk removal, I knew that Calvin and Boombox Storage would have it handled.

The movers/pick-up crew are always very friendly, reliable, and efficient as well. After a while they also start to remember the long time members. You'll be in great, great hands with them!

From a cost perspective, things are very much reasonably priced and I loved being able to track all my storage items through their website (not to mention, the photos are always helpful!).

I know that if I ever need a storage unit again, I'll definitely be going back to Boombox Storage.

For a few months in 2021, I put all my things in storage to live on the road. I am writing this review after everything has been delivered back to me. Boom box made the process extremely stress free.

The initial call was to get a sense of how much stuff I owned that needed to go into storage and to schedule a pickup. The pickup itself was a breeze and the crew went above and beyond to fit things into the van.

I got to see images of all the items on their website. The delivery was as easy as the pickup. All items were in the same state that we left them without as much as a scratch.

You couldn't pick a more profession and nice company! I have used their service over 4 years now and they run a smooth ship. The movers take great care and are always within the short window. The prices are reasonable and it is nice to be able to quickly check if I put that "thing" in storage or if it must be in the back of my closet :)

I've never dealt with such an extraordinary group of losers that call themselves a business. Point one: you call their phone # and you get a recording "this number is disconnected" Point two: you email the business and some jerk named S Harris acknowledges your email but after repeated emails sent to him he never again responds. Third point: you go to their site and make an appointment and are given a day and a time (for me 8/2/22) morning) and nobody shows up! Does anyone see a hint of incredible incompetence by this so-called business? Don't take my word for it, try it yourself. All those lovely reviews about how good they are, must be talking about some other business named Boombox. This kind of dismal example of incompetence gives capitalism a bad name. If only Amazon were in the moving/storage business, then I'd have my faith in capitalism restored.
I defy this bunch of losers to refute any one of the points I've mentioned above. Boo! Hiss! Throw the bums out!

I've used Boombox on and off for 3 years and they've been nothing but excellent. Calvin is not only responsive but he and the whole team are super accommodating and bent over backwards to make the process of a cross country move and selling my things remotely as easy as possible. Highly recommend these guys if you're in the Bay Area.
