We were very happy we worked with Lara and her crew. We reached out to several landscaping companies in the Bay Area and when we met Lara, we knew we wanted to work with her. She was the most responsive and enthusiastic landscape designer we found. She visited our home and based on our budget, our space, and our inspiration photos, she immediately had a vision. She was happy to incorporate our existing plants and didn't get bent out of shape about changing things based on our feedback or based on supply chain issues. She thought about how the space would look at our estimated time of home sale and chose plants accordingly. She and her team finished the project in the stated timeframe and made us feel confident we knew how to care for the plants after they were gone. I would highly recommend her.

Lara was very easy to work with, listening to our ideas and quickly helping us understand what was and wasn't realistic. She and her team provided a variety of services (thorough weeding, planting new plants, adding irrigation, building a gate) and executed them with good quality and in a timely manner. She was also a great sounding board throughout the process as new ideas came up.

Her prices are not the cheapest but the work was good quality, and she was willing to make adjustments to fit our budget.

We'd definitely work with Lara again in the future.

When I was originally planning a renovation of my backyard, I reached out to a small number of companies to have initial discussions about the design, scope, and budget of the project.

I initially selected a different company who promised a beautiful design - and they did deliver a beautiful design, but at FOUR TIMES the amount that I'd shared with them as my budget.

Frustrated at having invested time and money into an unbuildable design, I immediately called Lara back because she was the designer who had been focused on ways to improve the functionality and feel of my backyard within my budget and was willing to call out the items that would take us over budget and think of creative ways to reduce costs but still deliver on my major priorities for the space. I will be using her services for the actual renovation work.

Expensive. Killed one of my fruit trees when it was pruned at the wrong time of year - after they had been asked to not trim our trees. Eventually the replaced the tree with a sapling and they left the dead tree stump in place.

We asked various landscaping companies to come around, told them what we wanted - to remodel our gopher-holed yard into a xeric garden with a dining patio. They said they'd get back to us. But we were left with no sense of a vision of what it would look like, and they never responded. Lara from the get-go sounded so intelligent, creative, and visionary that we were absolutely entranced and engaged. Her workers were hard-working and highly skilled. She incorporated our ideas into her vision, stayed within budget and schedule, and left us with a beautiful garden and gorgeous flagstone dining patio -- and inspired us to think more creatively about the rest of our overgrown grounds.... we truly enjoyed working with her and her team. From beginning to end it was such a pleasure to work with Lara and her team. Everything was well thought out, explained, our questions answered and work was completed within the timeframe we discussed. Lara was willing to use plants we already had, remove what we didn't like and replace with plants that will acclimate to our micro-climate. I absolutely love the makeover of a very unruly front yard. Added bonus the mulch we picked smells so wonderful. Excellent work and service - so worth it!! Thanks Lara and team for bringing happiness to me and my yard. We worked with Bountiful Botanicals a year and half ago to redo our hopelessly messed up front yard.

Lara and her team (Rick, Easy, and crew) are all professionals who gets the job done well - they care about the quality of their work and we are happy with the outcomes.

As a designer, I find her to be easy to talk to and to work with. Lara quickly comes up with a vision, lots of great ideas and is not bogged down by the limitation of the site. She also understands design and minimal aesthetics, and chooses drought resistant plants (which is a plus for me and water consumption).

Rick and his crew on site took great care in transforming the site, always respectful to leave things organized and orderly. Any type of construction or landscaping/gardening work brings some level of disturbance to the site, so the crew's level of mindfulness in working with the site is a big plus. I think this really sets them apart in my book.

We recently redid our backyard again to make our backyard more kid friendly during covid pandemic time, and Bountiful Botanical really delivered once again. I know working with them I won't have to be too involved past the initial "here is what I want" stage because they know what they're doing and the end result always meets our expectations.

Lara did an amazing job helping us design our backyard and select plants. She knew which plants were drought tolerant, native, and which ones were bad for dogs. She also had great insight about what to do with the hardscape. Lara got a sense for the plants that we liked and was able to tailor her design to our preferences. It was easy to schedule a consultation with her and she turned around her design quick and on time. Unlike other landscape designers, she can do both design/build and design only contracts. She was a perfect fit for our needs and I would definitely recommend her.

Lara and the crew of Bountiful Botanicals did an OUTSTANDING job on our dream project 11 years in the making. She took our dump of a lot with an ugly concrete wall and created an outdoor space so beautiful we are still in awe of it. She is the ultimate professional. Her attention to detail, her eye for design, her work ethic, her commitment to transparency, and her skill at project management made this project a joy to undertake. The result was far more spectacular than we even dared to hope.


I met with several other landcape contractors before we met Lara. Do NOT waste your time doing this. You seriously do not need to. She is design and build. That is HUGE in terms of cost savings, communication and flow. We first tried to get this done with a landscape architect and every time she even talked to the people about the install I got billed. One firm that handles it all will simplify the process and save you money. Believe me, I learned the hard way.

The day my husband and I met with Lara we knew within 5 minutes we wanted her to do the job. She listened to how we said we wanted to use the space, she told us clearly how far our budget would go, she pointed out concerns we'd encounter before they became an issue and she got to work. She moved the project along in an efficient but never rushed manner and she addressed every single one of my zillion questions with patience and in a timely manner. She was always accessible, incredibly patient, and she had creative solutions to every concern. I am a control freak but by the end of the project I was like, "oh Lara will figure it out." She did and far better than I ever could have. If think you have a great idea, trust me, she has a better one. Just let her do her thing!!

Prompt, considerate, careful, and HARDWORKING her crew made the project as painless as possible. Francisco, the foreman, worked with diligence and focus but he would always stop and take the time to answer a question or address any concerns. He is an excellent communicator. Her crew was careful with our dogs and our property. They were super respectful of our neighbors with regard to noise etc in the early part of the day. The crew kept the job site spotless. They worked VERY hard and they were on-time every single day for 8 weeks. We were sad to see them leave!

I think in sum this is the bottom line. Lara and Francisco worked on this project as if it were their dream not ours. They truly wanted us to LOVE it. You could see that in their attention to detail, their perfectionism and their unwillingness to cut any corners. I know I am very particular and Lara handled my every request with grace and efficiency.

Lara is truly gifted and she has created a gem of a company.

I have never had an experience with a contractor quite like working with Lara. She was collaborative and open to our ideas, all while having a great vision for how our backyard would come together. She was quick to respond to all emails, even questions about how plants were doing and what weeds we should pull long after the completion of the project. She was respectful of our budget, providing cost saving options along the way as well as advising us on what we shouldn't cut corners on. She showed up every morning of the construction, giving us an opportunity to express thoughts we had had about the work done the day prior and totally willing to make changes (including digging up plants if needed). She's also happily stopped by multiple times since the work was done to adjust watering, replace plants that had issues and just keep an general eye on things.

And it isn't just Lara - her crew was wonderful! Again, totally willing to make changes but also always ensuring that the project was realistic based on our water pressure, etc. They were very respectful of our neighbors and our space, leaving everything cleaner then when they got there (including doing some front yard clean-up even though they were there for a back yard project). Francisco, who lead the team, was great - he even defending some of our plant choices to a passerby concerned about their drought tolerance.

The icing on the cake was how incredibly dog friendly they were. They brought treats for our pup, were very conscious of keeping the gate closed and would literally stop in the middle of their work some days just to pet her. I wanted to have Lara and her whole team over for a beer to enjoy the yard after the project was done.
