On the outside, it doesn't look like much, but the food is delicious. Dined in once and ordered take out once.
Pros:
- free street parking on E. Broadway (except between 3pm-6/7pm)
- can order online, but you need to create an account w the platform
- tons of menu variety, Japanese and Korean food
- good, quick and causal service
- endless loop of K-pop music videos playing on the big screen
- good pricing (sushi combos, my go-to is the spicy combo b/c it comes w ooshi sushi (seared top))
Notes:
- if you try calling, it can be difficult to get through to them. I think this is b/c they only have one phone line. Tried for about ten minutes and finally got through. I was too lazy to set up that account for online take-out.
- it's Korean Japanese food, so if you're particular for that sort of thing...so they're a bit saucier and have Korean fried chicken/bimbimbap on menu (for those who like to keep it rigidly authentic w sushi)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 20, 2020
I have mixed feelings about this place. First, the good: large, varied menu of vegan items -- with mainly typical sushi items, but also ramen and a bunch of Korean items (bibimbap, soontofu, bulgogi), with a sushi combo and sushi platter available. We ordered the vegan sushi combo (gomae maki, spicy tofu roll, 2 Inari and 2 avocado nigiri for $14.50), the vegan ramen ($8.50 base price, plus you add topping at $1-2 per item), and an additional spicy tofu roll ($4.50). They were nice enough to throw in a free order of vegetable gyoza in the order (not sure why).
The sushi was decent and quite substantial, but that combo is rather pricy for what you get. The ramen was really sad: the noodles seemed like instant noodles, and the broth seemed like very cheap broth made with a pre-made seasoning or something; the portion was enormous, but who wants a shitload of crappy instant ramen? It wasn't disgusting, but it was definitely the worst vegan ramen I've had in town.
I may try this place again and order something else that I've read good reviews on, but altogether, I can't say I was too happy or impressed with our experience (just due to the ramen). So, thumbs up to the abundance of vegan options, thumbs down to the ramen.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nicole L.Vancouver, Canada138143328Dec 8, 2019
It's honestly not a place that I had gone to before, but the food is done well and surely tasty! One highlight is their lobster jjamppong noodles. As Korean seafood spicy noodles their spice level is top notch and spice lovers will rejoice! The variety of seafood inside is a delight (shrimp, squid, lobster, mussels, etc). I also had their sashimi platter, toro oshi sushi, and garlic fried chicken
Other recommendations from the restaurant includes tan tan ramen, vegan options, and Korean items..Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rasheed B.Vancouver, Canada142132440Aug 23, 2018Updated review

Still one of my favourite sushi spots to take friends to. While prices have slightly increased, it seems like the portion size has also (at least for the Salmon Sashimi).
This sushi restaurant is conveniently located near the Commercial-Broadway Skytrain station (hence its name) and while there is paid street parking on Broadway and Commercial, often times it challenging to score a nearby meter. Little secret, the nearby Safeway grocery store always has plenty of free parking at the back of their lot which is less than 5 minute walk from yummy sushi.
The sushi chefs (what are they called?!?) greets everyone who walk inside the establishment. First time visiting since the renovations and it seems like it still keeps a steady stream of patrons and for very good reason; their service level, food & pricing are great.
There green tea is AMAZING. It's served at the perfect temperature for immediate consumption and taste so yummy! I don't recall everything that my guest & I ordered however the presentation of the sushi was excellent creating excitement to chow down & the freshness, texture, smell & flavour of it all was enjoyable to the very last bit.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Feb 22, 2015Previous reviewThe sushi chefs (what are they called?!?) greets everyone who walk inside the establishment. Looking for quick eats, or just spending time with family and friends? Look no further than at Broadway Sushi Station. This place offers some decent quality of fresh seafood and some dishes are a sure try! Lobster jjamppong is a must especially with spice that is catered to the spice lovers. This Korean seafood noodle soup is loaded with umami flavours and real seafood (lobster, mussels, shrimp, squid, etc). Furthermore, their fried foods are good to order such as the yam tempura and fried eel roll. The batter is nice and even; the frying is done just right with a crispy, golden brown outter shell which locks in all the flavour! Their oshi sushi is also fairly priced and offers a satisfying bite!

We headed here for luck on Saturday and they told us they were closed 2:30-3:45 which apparently they do regularly. Their hours are pretty clearly 12:00pm-11:30pm so we were a bit confused as to why we were being turned away during business hours... we won't be going back. Instead, go around the corner to Commercial sushi. Horrible service, but really good soosh with significantly better prices than Broadway Station Sushi.

I really had zero expectations as to coming here, this was just to fulfill a meeting place and the all so important meal of lunch. Walking in, I know this place has been here long enough, long enough for me to choose so many other options, but I did not have control of this meal, and I allowed the person I was with to dictate eating arrangements, also lets me take a look at places like these that otherwise I would dodge clear, way clear!
I entered, and as an eye sore all you see is old green leather fabric on the built in booths of this place for seating, it's an odd place, they have booths running along the middle and moveable tables on the sides. Practically we were greeted and to seat ourselves during their lunch run. The menu is pretty extensive, with a whole bunch of mish-mash combo's for lunch, and a la carte from sushi to cooked food, your typical Chinese owned Japanese restaurant.
We came to that time of ordering, as I wasn't feeling too hungry, I chose the nabeyaki udon, and the person I was with decided on a lunch box, standard chicken teriyaki, with 6 Cali rolls, some side salad and some tempura with dipping sauce. The food was your stereotypical food, liveable, passable, that I would have usually given a 3.. since I can't give a 2.5... what dropped it was two things. One was that a patron was trying to enter, and he was in a wheelchair and was having a heck of a time coming in, where I had to go help and hold the door, and I know the waitress saw him before I noticed the problem, the second was paying for the bill, where we got the change, but no receipt, you have to realize, whether a business lunch or not, some people like to keep record of their expenditure, tsk tsk!
Add this up to another mediocre Vancouver Japanese restaurant.....Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Doris H.Vancouver, Canada2722157Jun 11, 2018
I always pass by Broadway Station Sushi whenever I watch a show at the Rio. But I didn't get the opportunity to try it until a friend recommended it today because we were having cravings.
The restaurant only had two other tables with customers. Two. Other. Tables. And the fact that it took 10 minutes to get some menus and tea/water is already a big sign that I wasn't going to leave this place happy. Now, their selection of sushi is not as big as you think. There is some ramen and Korean food for some reason but nothing in the speciality sushi section caught my eye at all. Ended up ordering a Spicy Combo and it came with the miso soup.
The thing is, I can almost instantly tell whether or not a place has quality sushi or not. The first thing I noticed was that the "spicy" sauce was drowning the sushi. I was basically eating sauce with a fingernail sized piece of fish. The second thing that made it even better was the fact that the sushi rice was almost translucent and had no vinegar taste to it at all. The combo also came with kappa maki (cucumber roll) and it was the only thing that wasn't swimming in sauce but I ended up drowning it in soy sauce anyways since it didn't have a taste at all. Service was barely existent either since the serve was just standing and watching us from the counter if she wasn't zoning out and staring off into the distance. She came by to refill tea cups maybe only once and like I said, she wasn't even really doing anything the entire time other than standing around.
My friend, who ordered a Lady Roll(?) that she claimed was her favourite, ended up not wanting to finish it since the tempura inside it was just dry and greasy and had no avocado in it whatsoever.
Long story short; food was bland disappointing and not worth my money. Won't be coming back.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Wood U.Vancouver, Canada2531Mar 1, 2018
I've been going here for about 8 years. It's the only decent sushi I've found in the entire commercial drive area. Sound too extreme? Too bad! I know sushi. :)
There isn't much to say. The food is just quite good. Bad sushi comes from any number of small mistakes, and they exhibit none. If the sushi were to be better, it would be little tweaks in the rice flavouring perhaps- very minor. But I say that despite them having the best rice in the area.
The reason I didn't give five stars is that they recently re-did the menu a bit and they seem to be trying to present as a more high quality place. The sushi is the same with some possible semi-fancy additions to the menu and the deletion of any good value lunch specials. The one, new lunch special is very expensive for what you get. It seemed actually more than if you ordered the same things off the menu. I tried one new aburi dish (flame seared), and it was pricy and underwhelming and small.
It's very evident that you should stick to your strengths. Good, consistent sushi for normal prices. That's probably why you got a good customer base before. That's a valuable thing.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Demi P.Vancouver, Canada102129May 10, 2018
This place used to be Chinese owned- now Korean owed.
Good food, huge portions and the server is really kind. I had the beef done which is good but a little too much sauce though:(
And the soy sauce karage chicken is amazing. Taste like Ole chicken in downtown
Yayy!!!
Will come backHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
