Might be good prices for industrial sized appliances (or might not - I don't have a frame of reference), but there are much better places to purchase service ware in quantity. Is this place expensive compared to William Sonoma whose store is in Union Square and wraps your stuff in cute pineapple paper? No. Is it expensve for a place whose name starts with the word *Economy*, is located in a warehouse in a remote corner of SOMA and sells in bulk to the restaurant industry. Yes. Yes, it is.

This place is a gold mine of high use cooking supplies. I love that they have sections of the store with supplies for asian, latin, pizza, and cocktails. Everything from chef weights to pizza screens. I had to make a quick departure from my first visit because there was so much I could rationalize buying. I will be back!

Most non restaurant workers would go to Bed Bath & Beyond, Sur la Table, or World Market though these places are often overpriced and overrated. Whether your a home cook or a professional, Chefs Toys offers numerous brand name items used by professionals. Trust me when I say it's like Target...you walk in to get silverware, a knife or whatever and then walk out with several tools you never thought you needed.

Went to this place to exchange a defected $12 cheese cutter and they sent me away angry with the broken cutter.
Don't go there , they don't know how to conduct business, mind you for $12 they lost my business(I have three restaurants and many restaurant owners friends.
I miss the old Restaurant Economy.They were good people.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 11, 2019
The one star is just really for the outside parking. The staff are helpful inside. Beware when you park outside this establishment. If you come with someone let one of you stay with your parked car! Lots of homeless people and robbers scope out the parked cars and do a 'smash & grab' while you're inside. They do this even if you don't have visible items in your car. Sucks. Gotta allow karma and the universe take care of whoever did this to our car.

The parking at the front was full, so I followed the sign that said, "additional parking in the rear". So I parked in the rear next to the other cars in the lot and made my way to the entrance. As I was about to enter the building someone shouted, "you can't park there, it's not for you". So, I left unable to park. I have a minimum standard when it comes to how I'm spoken to, and this was a red flag when it comes to customer service in the future.

If I could leave half a star I would. Thought I would make my life easy and order on line for next day pick up. Order was not ready items out of stock etc. it was like detailing with a 90s internet company. Not seamless at all! People at the store are nice enough but selection is only ok as are the prices. Customer service on the phone was not great either.

excellent service. I recently discovered this store! Employees are quite helpful. We ordered a refrigerator for our restaurant and Tammy was very helpful. The delivery guys were very nice as well!

Used gelato display-cooler = $6,000
Locker for employees = $1,000
Chalk board for specials = $500
Complaining on the price for a scoop of gelato compared to ingredient costs = Priceless
Economy Restaurant Fixtures looks and feels like a place to find huge discounts, but I felt that price were high. Half of their items apply only to professionals in restaurant business, so I cannot comment on price competitiveness of those items. Visit here made me appreciate $$$ restaurants have to spend to start a business.
I prefer to go to Kamei on Clement Street (http://www.yelp.com/biz/Wdlcoex6glY5IAMCt_tyGA?hrid=gW00tEZppPziZayMLFluvg).Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 4, 2018
A pretty nice/well stocked restaurant supply store near portero hill. Just stopped by here with a friend and ended up picking up some decent cooking supplies for a good reasonable price. This is place is definitely more for those who run a business but for the everyday person you can if the occasional helpful kitchen tool of a good price. On my visit picked up a chefs knife and a baking pan for cheaper then what I found at target or amazon. The store layout is very basic but to the point. The service here was friendly and helpful. This isn't a place you come to get cute kitchen supplies but if you need solid quality things for a reasonable price, this place it worth checking out

Don't let the Asian guy help you, he thinks he is making you a favor for actually just doing his job, he shouldn't be on customer service, very rude and will make you feel like you are wasting his time, We spend at least 3k every month on this place (we have 8 restaurants), it should not be so difficult to check on prices.
