Chimney Clean Company

Finally got around to calling a service to cleaning our fireplace. The Chimney Clean Company was able to schedule us an appointment in less than 24 hours. Was extremely professional and had our chimney and fireplace cleaned in about an hour. Also gave us some safety recommendations. Will definitely call you for my fireplace maintenance.

Showed up on time, professional and reasonable prices. Would highly recommend for chimney sweeping.

This company told me that "dryer vent cleaning is included in our service" and then proceeded to charge me $229 just for the dryer duct. The cost was easily $200+ more than I have ever paid for my chimney and duct cleaning services. On top of that, they stained our cream carpets ash black and I had to bring in professional steam cleaners to remove the soot spot. They also must have put something very heavy on our stone hearth, because there is a large crack on it now. It was just a terrible experience working with this company which is a surprise with all the 5 star reviews.

Dennis was recommended and his arrival on Saturday was right on time. The chimney was filthy and he took care of it. He thoroughly sealed off the chimney opening along with covering the nearby area. The living room was as clean as when he arrived. I would highly recommend Chimney Clean Company for anyone's chimney service needs.

Responded promptly and installed chimney cap. Also observed numerous cracks that needed to be sealed to prevent water intrusion. Returned the next day repaired cracks and painted repaired area to match original color.
Recommend for your chimney servicing

I had my chimney top repaired so a new cap could be placed on top which Chimney Clean performed. My only issue is the tech did not take a photo and show the work performed on the 2nd story roof where I cannot view it. For the money, this would seem an obvious deliverable.

Buyer beware - Please ask them about their warranty coverage before you proceed. Their coverage duration is far lesser than any other providers out there, even though they are licencsed.

Just got finished with Dennis from Chimney Clean - they are everything you can expect from the reviews! Everything was straightforward: Dennis was very knowledgeable (as expected from a 30+ year veteran) and quick and efficient.

My agenda for the visit was for a confirmation of the work done on the chimney by a previous company, which had been revealed to have disappointing results by *everybody who ever worked with them - and it was very difficult to find these reviews for SJ since they had only recently come out from Seattle. Needless to say, Dennis was very pleasant and professional, and got to the task at hand immediately.

The chimney had been cleaned properly by the previous company; the top of the chimney had been sealed properly by the previous company (but the previous company hadn't used the right material to seal around the flashing - Dennis fixed that up with some silicone right quick), so I will return to my previous thrashing of said company to improve my rating (but I will keep my warning to others of previous reviewers who weren't so lucky).

Not only did Dennis do everything expected - he pointed out that our chimney cap was off-kilter (something that the recent storm must have done since it was fine last week) and so he totally adjusted and returned it to its former glory. He also had some good advice on how to detect subtle drafts from the fireplace (tape some long strips of toilet paper or newspaper to the mantlepiece and see if there's any movement).

Finally - no upsells or hidden costs - they were very clear about the cost, and printed out a proper receipt.

Chimney Clean did a great job, and I am so happy to have worked with them.
