DO NOT BUY TIRES HERE!!! If you do, good luck if you get a flat tire. This was my first time buying tires from here a couple of months ago. I came back from vacation and discovered that my car had a flat tire. I came in around 7:55 AM as the garage was open, but the tire place was closed. I had to go back home, when I came back around 9 AM, an older Latino male with glasses told me that there were no walk-ins. He told me that I have to come in at 7:45 a.m. the next day for a flat tire repair "walk-in". I informed him that I had purchased all my four tires here a few months ago. He told me that I either make an appointment or come back tomorrow at 7:45 AM. I told him that earlier that morning when I checked the appointments, there was not any availability until five days later. He then responded by telling me that now it was six days for the next appointment. I asked him if I could leave my car parked at the tire shop since it was a struggle getting my car to Costco with the flat tire and I come back tomorrow at 7:45 am to make line for the walk-in. He told me to call my roadside assistance to have a spare tire (that was in my trunk) placed on my car and to come back tomorrow. This is ridiculous. Piss poor customer service. Who makes an appointment that is five days out as if they anticipated getting a flat tire? Make it make sense. Currently waiting for a tow truck from Oakland to come and put a spare tire on my car even though I am in front of a tire shop. Tony Carranza was the tire technician's name who was rude.

Updating my review because the other guys are helpful and kind. Avoid Tony if you have a choice. Also, do make an appointment online.

Definitely one of the slowest tire centers around anywhere
      Just small and understaffed
20 minutes counter line didn't move one person highly inefficient.

Don't make appointments at the end of the day. They just want to get the stuff done as quickly as possible and leave. I got the call to pick up my truck and arrived a few minutes later to pick it up. All the people in the garage were gone. Check your hub cap covers to make sure they're on tight, because one of mine flew off while I was driving 2 days later. Now I have to spend more money to get a replacement as they won't replace or pay for one.

Edit: it's now 2-3 weeks later, and the tire air valve cap came off the front tire on the same side. I've never had that occur. I assume they didn't tighten it much and it eventually flew off.

The tire center is the opposite of Costco. They have an "all sales are final" mentality. They wouldn't let me exchange or return the tires I bought under any circumstances. This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. There is something really wrong with the work environment in this particular TIRE location.

I bought a set of tires here and I notice a thumping sound as I was driving. A few days later, I took my car back to Costco and explain this to the supervisor. He told me I had to get tires aligned and balanced at a tire shop. So I made an appointment with Wheel Works and took it in to have it aligned and balanced. The thumping sound didn't go away, I returned to Costco. They said I needed schedule an appointment with them so they could identify which tire was making the thumping sound. The next available appointment was in a couple of weeks because it was December and they were very busy. I decided to do the work myself by switching out each tire with my donut to see which one was making the thumping sound. I was unsuccessful and I accidentally broke off a wheel stud in the process. Once again I took it back to Costco, now they said my car was the problem and I should take it back to the dealer to see what was going on. I went to the dealer, paid the diagnostic fee, and left it there. In less than an hour I received a phone call from the mechanic at the dealership telling me to come back in. When I returned my car was on the lift 5 feet off the floor. The mechanic pointed out that I had a flat spot on 3 of my 4 new tires. It was very apparent as he pointed it out while my car was dangling in the air. He said this happens when the tires are stored incorrectly. He handed me the report and refunded my fee because there was nothing he could do for me.

Now I know they were clearly blowing me off with one explanation, reason, or excuse after another. And now I know everyone I spoke to was not a "supervisor" or a "manager". And now the "supervisor" was accusing me of doing burnouts or donuts with these tires. And he was the very first "supervisor" that told me to go get them aligned and balance. He was actually being held back by another employee while trying to confront me with these accusations. I didn't know who was who. And i didn't know what was going on. I had enough, I said, "get me the store manager."

An actual manager came down shortly. I told him the hold story backed up by my stack of paper trail. All he did was turn around and told his staff to get me all new tires and handed me his business card. Finally, thank you.

Oh it's not over. The tubbywad mthrfkr that got to work on this immediately said to me in a condescending fashion, "we'll do this for you one time and one time only." WTF! I had no faith or trust of anyone working here. I stayed and watch as each tire was being replaced by a new one. I stayed watched with the eye of an eagle. I made sure they just didn't rotated them around.

I am never coming back here for tires again because they have the worst customer service and
      1. No guarantee that the tires are good
      2. No alignment of the tires
      3. No balancing of weight of the tires
      4. No checking batteries in the sensors
      5. No free rotation of the tires in the future
All of these things are crucial for the longevity of your tires.

I thought I was getting a deal by coming here for tires but it wind-up costing me so much in time, money, and grief. Do your research for a real tire shops, get quotes for the best deal, spend the money, and make sure they have a yes on all of the 5 points I listed above.

We had a great experience getting a set of four new Michelins put on our VW Golf.

All tires were done in 30 mins while I waited nearby.

They were able to set up an appointment within roughly a week, the tire center was very busy and I had to wait around to finally get service but once set up, everything went smoothly.

I can see why people get upset with them, but they don't seem to be a rush kind of business. The tire centers across the city (over) charge appropriately for that kind of customer service and work.

I'd view the Costco Tire Center as more of a routine and planned out maintenance center.

Overall, we were happy with the upfront pricing and services provided. The costs appear unbeatable so the savings are worth some slow customer intake up front.

Overall, their staff were all friendly and attentive after it was our turn in the cue. I'd recommend them again for anyone seeking tires and for people who aren't in a rush to get something fixed before their panicked winter drive to Tahoe in the thick of winter.

They dissuade you from using their service by being extremely inefficient. A tire rotation will take 2 hours. It's ridiculously slow here.

They claimed they couldn't get the lug nuts off my car. Twice. Sent me to another auto shop where I had to pay to get new lug nuts because the Costco tire center couldn't get them off. Weird how the other shop got them off no problem in front of my eyes. Morons.

Great tire deal, but poor customer service. It's like you're an inconvenience. So mechanical and rough treatment.
Came back for free flat repair. They can't guarantee you will be see same day if come in by 2:30. They give priority to appointments. But I didn't know last week I'd have a flat today.
And I see NO appointments for the next several days.

This review goes out to the kind and compassionate man who was working here and answered the phone line at approx 2:30 yesterday afternoon.

I received a really frantic call from my mom who said she was basically about to die on a pallet on the ground of the basement inside the Costco parking lot, and that I should start calling hospitals should I not hear from her later.

Obviously I was stressed bc I was nowhere near her , would not be able to get to her quickly and I had nobody else to call. I called 911 immediately and then had a weird feeling a little later to call Costco just in case and I figured the tire center would be the smartest place to call being it was probably located in the basement. It turns out it is!

Anyways, the man who answered the phone told me the medics seemed to be looking around for her - I told him maybe she would be in a walkway as they were looking at stairways (?) he told me he was going to get off the phone and tell them .

He could have hung up on me. He could have decided to instead help someone who was going to pay for a tire, etc.. but he instead took time out of his day to help someone who wouldn't be of any monetary benefit to him. It turns out, he actually helped them find her and I appreciate him so much!

So , hopefully this message gets to the tire center and Costco. Thank you a million times over(wish I knew your name, usually I would have asked - I apologize for that !).
