The breaks on my Acura were making a grinding noise for some time, but I didn't notice this, because the ELS stereo is usually blaring. One day, I heard the sound and knew the breaks needed service.

I went on Yelp, looked around for a local shop, and found DAS Auto Service. It's an extremely well run business. I peeked into the garage, and it's so clean and organized, you could eat off the floor.

I know other people who got screwed on break service, paying $1200+ for back break pads and rotors. These guys did it for $425.

Not only was the price right, but they did the work quickly. I brought my car in at 1pm and was home by 3:30.

These guys have my patronage for as long as I live in Daly City. They don't do everything, but they do a lot more than you'd expect.

We saw their business here in Yelp and they have high rates. Tried them today. We called yesterday and Lalo gave us quotes (all reasonable) and they made an appt for me.
I got the car and all running great and problem resolved.
Quan and Lalo were all awesome. Will definitely come back here.

I've taken my car here 3xs.
First two times, the work was done fine. Only complaint is lack of care about getting oil on rugs, while working on cars. I'm sure my situation isn't the norm because my interior is all white cream, including the rugs. So first few times took it to the dealer to detail the oil stains.

The last visit will be final visit. The mechanical service appeared fine. They did a service B, replaced the auxiliary battery and replaced the emergency brake that was getting stuck. While handling above items I get a call back brakes also needed.

Major problem with the last visit is two fold:

#1) There were 2 other women in the shop when I came in and it just seemed odd (not impossible, but suspect) that all 3 of us were told we needed new brakes. I don't know about the other drivers, but I don't drive my car that much and it's regularly getting serviced. This made me say,'Humm, not sure".

#2) The following week I took my car in for the Dmv smog. I've never had any problems with the car or the smog process. This time was different. They couldn't run the diagnostic because the cable part wasn't where it was supposed to be. This led another shop showing me a few areas that were not secure and it of alignment. After returning to DAS.. they addressed the areas that were related to their repairs. It really should have been handled with the work done. One area was a large screw under the steering wheel. I really hadn't notified the screw which was half in and half out, but I had noticed the car sadly driving as smoothly as normal. After securing as it should have been originally... the car is now back to the normal smooth handling.
At the end of the day, sloppy workmanship on a $2,000 job. And those were just items I could see, which impeded the smog.
Not Impressed...

I had a nail in my tire and they said that they can fix it over the phone. However when I came, the technician said "I'll just pull it out and that's it."

You don't just take out the nail. You also have to patch it. Did they expect me to leave on a flat tire once they had removed it?

Be more clear to your clients what you can do and what you can't. Respect other people's time.

5/5 for their service, location, and environment.

I was visiting my mom when I realized it may be a good time to get an oil change. I called them early morning to ask if they allowed any walk-ins and they said yes. I can definitely tell they get busy, so I highly recommend setting up and appointment!

When I got there, they were super nice to me and let me know that my car would be done in an hour. I sat in their waiting room and my car was done before I knew it.

In the 35 minutes I was sitting in the waiting room, 5 other people showed up after me. I definitely recommend setting up an appointment with them because I could easily see a customer waiting at least 4 hours for their vehicle since they have exceptional customer service. Their garage and waiting room is clean, and the men that work there are nice and are pretty laid back.

All-in-all, my car was great, came back the way I left it, and the guys there were nice to me. Can't complain! Great experience. Would come back again.

DAS does it right!

Been here several times in past 12 months since I needed a new shop. The staff is friendly, professional, responsive, and knowledgeable. My vehicle has received a range of repairs from common to the very uncommon. Their pricing is fair (subjective, of course).

They are very accommodating; performing repairs asap. They saved me a lot of headaches with their ability to quickly diagnose the problem, order the necessary parts, and perform repairs.

I am very appreciative of the people and their services. Support this business. It's a gem.

I am so happy that I came across such an amazing local mechanic shop. I was very impressed from the very initial messages between Quan and I, as he was very responsive, all the way through my drive home from getting my car repaired here.
I came in to get my brakes fixed after being quoted an amazing price, and this shop was very straightforward, did not try to push extra services. I went in around 8:30AM, without an appointment, and my car was finished within 2 hours. I left with a plan to a return for future services that my car will need. My partner who accompanied me also said that she will bring her own car here whenever the time for service happens!

When I don't know where to turn I first always think of DAS auto to save me with my car troubles. I'm glad I found them when I needed help. They are easy to contact, always responsive and always ready to help. I really appreciate Quan, DAS Auto and their services.

So my sportage has hit that age when things start to need replacing. Car parts, regardless of make, model or usage, age and break down. Not unlike people. Our sportage is affectionately named, The Black Beauty, I'll reference her as BB from this point forward.
So our family likes a cool ride so we use our AC all the time - all the time.... So when we started to notice that the AC was no longer pumping out cold air, there was some concern. I use Yelp to point me to a car doctor that can diagnose and repair AC. We get pointed to DAS Auto. I make the appointment and bring her in. They tell me it's the condenser and recommend I replace the compressor at the same time. So first of all, kudos for the honesty. Respect! They could've just told me they both "needed" to be replaced but they didn't. Next I do what any self respecting car owner should do and I called around to do a price check - condenser/compressor repair is NOT cheap! I soon realize the price they quoted was very VERY fair! 1/3 the price from the dealer and 1/2 the price I'm getting from other independent repair shops.... Wwwhhhaaattt?!? Honest and fair price? Only thing left to determine is quality...
I make the appointment for BB and bring her in. Of course I'm nervous, will she be ok, will she be the same or like a pro quarterback who gets an Achilles tear, will she never be the same? So it's a one day surgery so all I can do is trust the car doc and try to forget about it.
Next morning I'm coming to the shop to pick her up and as I jump out of my Uber, the alarm starts going off almost like she's excited to see me! I go inside, pay the super friendly guy at the front take the keys and immediately turn of the alarm. I start up BB and listen to her roar as i kick the AC to max. Immediately I feel the cold refreshing air - just like Mother Nature intended!!!!
DAS hit the price point, ethical standards and bedside manner I expect for my hard earned $'s. Methinks I found the new regular for BB. So when someone asks, who do I recommend for a car Doc.... DAS what I'm talking about!
