Drain Masters

Called Drain Masters, as I have done before, Ed answered live and in person, thumbs up. I told him my problem concerning a closed Kitchen drain that I couldn't unclog myself. Ed said he would be there in 90 mins, came in about 45 minutes. Diagnosed the issue, and had the drain unclogged and working as normal in about 15 mins. Now we can get through the dish pile up. Drain Masters are just straight up good plumbers, they show up and get it done, no BS upset or consultative urgings unless you ask for their opinion. I will be calling them for future needs. Thanks, Drain Masters!

Thank you Edward and César! These two make a great team. They are responsive, friendly, knowledgeable, professional and respectful! We had a back up in our main line and no (accessible) cleanout. Within 2.5 hours, these two installed a cleanout, snaked the line and restored our plumbing services - ON BUDGET!

I called at least 6 other plumbers, they were either not able to provide the required services or quoted outrageous service fees.

Definitely will keep Drain Master in my contacts and highly recommend them!

Ed is a seasoned pro, prompt, prepared, and professional. He is not one of those guys who takes advantage of people; far from it. His prices are very fair, and he stands behind this work. When I first moved into this neighborhood, and I had a problem, he could not have been more helpful to a total stranger. Then he found some other stuff I didn't know about and he took care of that and wouldn't charge me.
Not just an excellent neighbor, or professional, every single friend has commented on how the problem was fixed the first time, how he cleaned up everything, how he showed up when he said he was going to, and on and on. I recommend him highly as you can tell.

Having draining issues all around the house with this storm in San Jose. Edward has been so helpful and open to helping us on the phone even though it may not have to do with the drain. Definitely will be calling once this chaotic storm passes!

Edward of Drain Masters installed a new water heater for us ten years ago.
There have been a few problems with this water heater. We called Edward 
on those occasions but he wanted to charge us just to look at it. So I decided 
to fix them by myself. Luckily it worked out.

We had a home inspection on August 19th, 2022. The inspector said, the 
water heater chimney wasn't installed properly, which can be a safety issue.

We called Edward on August 26th for help. He said, he'll come to fix it in a 
couple days. But he didn't come and didn't call. We called Edward again later.
He said the same thing again and didn't come. Two weeks passed.

We called Edward during the third week. He said he would come in the late 
afternoon on September 9th. But he didn't come and didn't call. We called 
him to check. Then he said he's too busy and the weather is too hot to come.
So we asked, why didn't he tell us that before, so we could save our time? 
Edward abruptly said, "There're many plumbers in San Jose! Call around! Bye,
bye!" and hung up the phone. We were speechless. Half a month had gone
by in vain.

We have hired other plumbers before but no one acted like Edward. Some 
plumbers were really skilled and courteous. Some of them didn't charge just 
for coming to look.

This is the first time for me writing a complaint. If you want a plumber you 
can rely on over time, I don't think Edward is the right one. To keep your self-esteem healthy, stay away from this man, Edward of Drain Masters.

I love Ed. He helped clear up an outside drain about 3 years ago during the pandemic. My backyard has not flooded since. At that visit, he fixed my dishwasher outlet flute at the kitchen sink for free! I've texted him a few times afterwards, for simple plumbing advice. He is always generous with his time, in his busy schedule, for free. Very recently, I texted a photo of my bathroom shower faucet. He knew right away what type of cartridge I needed to fix the problem. I'm an Ed fan!

Very fast and responsive. Edward was very respectful and efficient. I would highly recommend Drain Masters to everyone.

I wouldn't recommend. I was told I'd get an estimate -- that never happened. Instead, I was hit with a $1,300 bill for installing a tub and replacing some valves. It seems way over priced in my opinion.

Also, he removed a huge hole in my bathroom without asking me beforehand. I'm not sure this was necessary or just to make it easier for himself. He told me he "had" to take a hole out of my downstairs neighbor's ceiling to access a pipe, but when she refused, he apparently was still able to do the job (or he didn't do it, I couldn't get a straight answer from him, it was all mumbo jumbo).

Anyway, I'm sure there are more straight forward plumbers out there. I'd keep looking.

Edward and his team are wonderful to work with. Very reliable and honest people. Get the job done fast and work with your schedule. I can't recommend them enough and am grateful to have found such a fantastic company to work with for all my plumbing needs! Photo of our most recent project.

Ed came to my house in April to clean my sewer main. I have used his services in the past and it is still the most honest, reliable and professional plumbing service company in our area. Ed is very knowledgeable and experienced in all aspects of residential plumbing. He also provides an excellent sewer cleaning service. I have a 1950s home, so the sewer maintenance is very important in these homes. Ed can answer any questions that you may have regarding plumbing repair, new installations and maintenance. I am planning to remodel my bathroom in the future and plan to use Ed for all the plumbing modifications and new plumbing/sewer installations. He is very fair in his pricing and will not over charge you for his services.

I had Edward of Drain Masters came after Elite Rooter came by and wasn't able to resolve kitchen drainage issue. Elite Rooter told me it needed hydro-jetting and a cleanout to fix the issue. They quoted $2,800 which I wasn't ready to accept. I am not going to say Elite Rooter is a scam because they refunded the cost of first visit after I told them Drain Masters came and fixed the issue. I guess the technician from Elite Rooter lacked the experience and didn't try to troubleshoot issue further.

Back to Drain Masters, they were recommended by someone in Nextdoor. Drain Masters caught my attention because it's a family owned business ran by Edward. Edward personally came out to try fix the issue and he did with a reasonable cost. He knew his trade craft which is important of course!
