Elk Grove Sewing and Vacuum Center

We came in to see about getting our Shark Vaccum fixed. We had called earlier that day and they said bring it in. When we got there, I explained the problem we were having and the owner immediately told us we needed a new vacuum because the motor wasn't turning on. I already was thinking that our Shark was doomed...we had to make sure. These type of vacuums are made to last maybe 2-4 yrs if that, then you have to buy another one ranging from $220-$400 depending on what you get. The owner and the daughter were not pushy at all.. we asked them do you have any vacuums that you would recommend she said yes we do, we have a Sebo Vacuum.... My first thought was what the heck is Sebo and I've never heard of it so it must not be good.... WRONG SIR I WAS!!!

Good vacuums don't really need to be advertise because they sell themselves. The daughter started to explain the vacuum and we tested it. I have to say I was sold and come to find out Sebo's are very good that last a long time that way we don't spend all this money every couple years we've had this now for about a month and so far it's doing great just like she said it would up way more than I have ever anticipated a shark to do. I can say that the motor in this vacuum is super powerful if looking for a vacuum, I would recommend a Sebo and coming to Elk Grove Sewing and Vacuum center if you live or are looking for an HONEST company! They answered all our questions and showed us various models. Thank you for all your help and we are recommending everyone we know that asks about our vacuum to EG Sewing and Vacuum.

This is a hidden gem in Elk Grove. Definitely check it out. Super knowledgeable and helpful staff.

While I didn't make any purchase during my first visit to the store, I felt very compelled to leave this 5 star ratings for them.

I took some sewing classes when I was young and have not own/use a sewing machine for ages. I was looking for a sewing machine that can sew a sail for my lawn (the heat is killing the grass and wasting precious water), using diy/"cheap" shade cloth material. I was torn if I should buy an expensive machine that is really heavy duty including the v69 UV threads, or just buy one and take the risk the sail will frail out faster by using a non-UV thread. The store lady is very nice to greet us when we entered, and she recommend both types machine options for me, even though they didn't carry that machine in the store. She also help to list out other alternatives approach and recommendations.

I really appreciate the time she took to share her knowledge during our visit. It shows she genuinely cares about people.

I had previously been excited and gave a rave review in the expectation of getting my machine back promptly and repaired. I was disappointed that it wasn't repaired as promptly as my friend's which was brought in after mine. Hers was a week sooner.

I live 1.5 hrs away and you can imagine how disappointed I am that my machine is not working correctly at all after trips to and from.

I'm bringing it back tomorrow to see if they can rectify the problem. I'll upgrade or downgrade my experience once it's completed.

I came in with two sewing machines that were giving me trouble. I got waited on right away. It turned out that the problems were simple to resolve, and he did so at the counter. He also took time to explain additional information with regards to the age of spool thread, needle wear and tear etc. He even carried my heaviest machine out to the car. I really appreciated his explanations. I looked at other machines but he wasn't pushy at all. If I decide to update my machine, which is about 50 years old, I will definitely return there.

A wonderful place to shop. Great selection of fabric and machines, they also do my long arm quilting. Roxanne and her daughters are so helpful in helping me pick out fabrics and assist me with quilting questions.

Just had another wonderful experience with Elk Grove Sewing and Vacuum Center. I had messed up my brand new Bernina embroidery module, in the middle of an important project (flower girl dress for son's wedding!) and was afraid the unit would need to go to Bernina for repairs. But, they fixed it and in record time! I so appreciate everyone at Elk Grove Sewing & Vacuum (and the location in Visalia!) as they are ALWAYS exceptionally helpful and greet me with a smile, even when I cause problems and they have to fix them. So far, I have purchased two Horn sewing tables, two Bernina sewing machines, the embroidery module, Bernina serger and the Brother Scan n Cut. LOVE this store for their customer focus and low pressure sales. Customer for life!

I should add - I first visited Elk Grove during the beginning of the pandemic, needing a serger repair because I was mass producing masks for my neighborhood. They were the only available place for repairs - other locations were either closed or the wait list was months long. There are literally hundreds of people that received masks in a critical time of the pandemic because Elk Grove Sewing and Vacuum Center was available and responsive to the need for repairing an old serger. When it came time to invest in all new machines, of course they were the only dealer I considered. Highly recommend them - family business and it shows.

Roxanne and her daughter helped our family pick out a new vacuum cleaner. Both were incredibly knowledgeable about the vacuums and differences between models. They were able to help us narrow down which one would work best for us. They're incredibly patient and friendly. They offer repairs and product support as well

I purchased a $2000 Koala table and it took 4 months for me to receive it. I had no notification of the delay until I called to inquire. First, the order was sent to another store in Illinois. Then for whatever excuse, it was delivered to the store, but no one contacted me. When I called again, I was told it was at the shop, but because there was a "show," I could not get delivery until two weeks later. No apology. No contact. The table was incorrectly assembled and does not operate properly. Terrible service. I'm not usually vocal with my dissatification but I have spent over $25K with them!!!

I went to this place just knowing I would be able to prove my husband wrong! Lol I told him it'd be cheaper to just our vacuumed fixed instead of buying one. It turns out it was cheaper by $10, so with that being said I decided just to buy a new one, no So I guess we were both right lol.

What I appreciate about this place is the customer service was very friendly, and honest! They didn't have to tell me the cost up front or how much parts would cost, but they did. All in all it's a cute mom and pop shop that deserves some love.
