Parked my car here for about 6 hours while I spent the day with my parents walking around SF. parking spots are pretty tight. Seems like the garage is pretty safe (but still wouldn't leave precious items in car) Paid about $29 for 6 hours. Close approximation the union square and Chinatown. A good convenient garage overall

It's been here forever, at least it seems so.
I don't generally park here as I prefer the one about three blocks away by the tunnel when in the area. On a rainy weekday, I decided to have lunch nearby before going to a 2 pm meeting on Maiden Lane.
I pulled in a little before 1 pm and found a parking space on the 3rd floor. While going up the ramps, I slowly gazed on the lower floors which were already full or had reserved parking signs. When I reached the 3rd floor, two cars had their headlights on so I made a circle around the back area in case there was an available space. With none there, I pulled up to the 1st space on the side and backed my car in. My first observation was how tight each space is to each other and how narrow the driveways are in maneuvering to and on the ramps.
As I walked to the elevator banks, I noticed signs taped on two of the three doors (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Kra9fop_lxOZoH2HJHGS1Q&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) and stood at the far right elevator, the only one operating. Despite this, it was only a short wait in going to the ground floor. Not being familiar with the layout, I exited the O'Farrell entrance and walked around the block to my lunch spot. I later learned from one of the meeting participants that there is a walking exit on the Ellis Street side. I'll need to ask for directions by next visit.
My stay cost me $21.00 for about three hours, about par for the City these days. I'm glad that the garage was not crowded, being able to park on a lower floor. Do remember to bring your parking ticket after parking as there is no cashier person to collect your payment (prepay at the machines before departing). Will be back when dining in the area or another meeting arises.Helpful 7Thanks 6Love this 10Oh no 0 - Hillary C.Las Vegas, NV07Jul 13, 2024
The parking sign is very misleading. we parked in the lot for 2 hours and 20 mins and were overcharged. It's very sneaky and sly and dishonest with how these owners take money that isn't rightfully there's. When contacting the owner, they refused to reimburse me and claimed their "rules" which are not clearly stated. I don't recommend parking here.

Came by the other day and it was a decent experience. Entrance from O'Farrell was slightly tricky as the signage was a touch confusing.
Rates are $5-6/hour depending on the time of day. The full amount is charged for every fraction of the hour. The gates upon arrival were in good operation as were the payment islands for the SFMTA garage.
The garage is 8 levels of self-parking with lots of tight and windy ramps. The parking spaces are also pretty tight too! Getting in an out of the driving lanes from the spaces was tricky, even in a compact car!
There were plenty of signs recommending not to leave anything of value inside the car when leaving the vehicle!Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0Jun 16, 2019Previous reviewCame by the other day and it was a smooth process. Signage was clear from the street and the ticket retrieval process was seamless. They apparently take a picture of your plates upon arrival to validate on your way out.
The driving lanes are extremely tight with plenty of signage. A smaller call would definitely be helpful!
Upon returning to the garage, the payment kiosk worked perfectly, accepting credit cards, cash, and mobile payments.

Ummm y'all!!! I'll never complain about this overpriced parking garage again!!!!
Guess who I met today?!!!! Charles Barkley!!! I watched him play ball as a kid, and he is the NICEST man!!!
Best $23 I ever paid for 3 hours worth of parking ever!!!!
He was eating near by. Excuse the toddler cheeks, I was stoked!!!Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 11Oh no 0Dec 28, 2021Previous reviewIf you are here for UNDER 2 hours, your parking is FREE till 12/31/21.
I am literally forced to park here, because My store visits are near by. It's so expensive. Again, my complaints are it's super small spaces. - Amelia F.Pittsburg, CA02Mar 21, 2024
On time me and my boyfriend parked late at night. We got lost because of the underground parking. Ended up some
How going to the bottom floor. Stepped out. When I tell you there was about 20-40 homeless people.. looked to my right a girl was shooting up. We ran back up the stairs . It caught us so off guardHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Oct 14, 2021
We stayed in this garage for about an hour to go to Westfield mall, and when we returned our back window was smashed and backseat ransacked. Luckily, we don't trust this city and took our important belongings with us, so all we lost was a slice of cake that the perpetrator didn't even eat and just abandoned on the staircase!
Ironically, our car was parked right next to a camera, but the parking management said that all we could do was file a police report and they have to take care of it. Basically no one cares about cracking down on crime, and this garage is a hotspot for it.
Be cautious of this garage and if you must park here, park somewhere with other cars so it makes it harder for your car to be isolated and targeted.

I really appreciate the obvious signs as you are exiting, the multiple reminders to PAY your ticket before attempting to exit. They have even made a turn out area for you if you happened to have forgotten. In other places, you just cause traffic behind you and are stuck in front of mad honkers haha.
I won't comment on the price- it is typical for downtown SF (expensive). We paid a total $22 to park there from 1 pm to 4:30 pm. This parking lot charges a different flat rate depending on which 3 hour time frame you are parked there. Different from other lots which do hourly.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tony L.Jersey City, NJ760375Sep 28, 2022
Parked here on a weekday for about 7 hours in Sept 2022. Location is in Union square and super convenient. Price is expensive but expected considering the location at the center of a popular metropolis. I parked my rental by the elevators. Thankfully, when I returned there were no issues with the car. I removed all items from my vehicle and opened the glove compartment and center console showing no contents inside just in case.

Pretty basic garage and fair prices to be had. SF has a ton of parking spots, so choose wisely.
This one isn't the largest, but is still a decent size. You might even forget where your car is at!
As the parking garages in SF begin to thin their security, be wary, but overall this one isn't too bad overall.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0
