From the moment you step in there is a warm atmosphere and the dining experience was extraordinary. Impeccable service, exquisite food, and an inviting atmosphere. Make this restaurant a must-visit.

The hon maguro tartar was my favorite.

P.S Sara was the best waitress ever!

We came on a Saturday at around 3pm for happy hour. There were a couple tables already seated.

We got the sommelier choice happy hour sake ($16), lychee sake spirit ($11), aji fry ($10), salmon oshi ($13) and the wagyu tartare ($24).

The happy hour sake is definitely worth it and you could share it between 2 people. The lychee sake spirit had very little lychee flavour. I would pass on this one

The aji fry was crispy and well fried. Not overly oily and went well with the mayo and lemon.

The salmon oshi was the let down of the meal. It didn't hold well when picked up with chopsticks. The salmon was lost underneath the sauce. Would not recommend getting this again

The wagyu tartare was the favorite of the table. The chips were crispy and addictive. I think they should provide a couple more chips to go with this. The avocado which is underneath the wagyu tartare is not necessary at all and takes away from the flavour of the beef.

Overall I felt like this was an okay place for tapas and a drink. Would recommend their wagyu tartare and the aji fry. Would probably pass on their sushi dishes. I personally wouldn't revisit this restaurant but if you are in the area looking for a place for a good happy hour menu, this might be what you are looking for

"Simply delicious", best way to describe ENe. Enjoyed a dining out experience with my girlfriend and friends mid week. The restaurant was welcoming and the staff friendly and pleasant. So an A+ for service as well for food. We sat right at the front so I didn't see much of the rest of the restaurant, but from what I did see it was a nicely decorated environment.

This place had wonderful, attentive service and warm ambiance! I enjoyed seeing glass bottles being reused into an overhead chandelier in the centre of the room.

I will start by saying that every dish definitely had promise, and a great beginning. I felt that a little something was missing from every dish, but that improvements could be made to really take it over the top.

To start, the Hamachi carpaccio was cut too thick for my taste. I expected thinner slices for a better eating experience. The pair with fresh tomatoes was delicious!

The wagyu aburi was good, but I thought there was too much rice to the ratio of meat. Perhaps it is meant to be this way, but I couldn't taste any of the wagyu.

The calamari was fried well, but we preferred a Japanese mayo accompaniment instead of the yuzu tartar.

The Hanzo signature roll was tasty, but would have been better off keeping the Hamachi and Tuna separate. Within the bite, it felt like too much neutral fish with not a lot going on. We ended up eating the slices of fish separately and it was very fresh.

Finally, the sweet braised pork belly dish was comforting! I found the sauce too sweet for my taste, but paired with rice it balanced out alright. The egg was cooked perfectly!

Not pictured: I ordered a side of shabu shabu broth which really hit the spot for me! Umami and warmed me right up.

Overall, this restaurant has a great start with their dishes. Small tweaks and improvements can really set them apart and make everything more coherent.

Came here on a Thursday night and they had a lot of tables available with attentive and friendly service. I came here because I wanted to try the Shokado bento box, which features 9 small dishes of raw and cooked food curated by the chef. This is great for sharing with 1 other friend.

This traditional bento box contains gorgeous dishes and is influenced by the Japanese Kaiseki cuisine (multi-course dinner). The 9 dishes consisted of: 2 types of sashimi, sushi roll, tuna tataki salad, fresh oysters, shrimp dumplings (har gow), fried mini octopus skewers, shrimp bao, and takoyaki. My favourite of the 9 is the tuna tataki salad - delicious tuna and dressing. Even though cute, I found the har gow to be the most out of place since I associate that with Chinese cuisine and I've definitely had better at dim sum restaurants.

I would love to come back to try some signature rolls, sukiyaki or shabu shabu hot pot.

We came into E Ne on Friday night as a group of six at about 10:00 PM. We were seated right away, and enjoyed looking over their extensive sake menu. I enjoyed the thoughtful detail they put into their decor and their suggestions. We shared a plate of Tokyo fries amongst the table-the bonito flakes were excellent with the creamy sauce they were slathered in.
The ambiance was quiet and relaxed-it was nice to chill out and get lost in their menu learning not just about the sakes they had, but their history and how sake is made.

Being a Vancouverite, I am spoiled by the abundance of amazing Japanese restaurants here so I am a little tougher on Japanese restaurants when I visit other places.

The good: the service was great and the drinks were amazing! They offer a nice selection of sake and a sake flight is a great way to try several of them. I like that a lot of their cocktails are sake based, something I haven't seen around of. If you're a fan of yuzu and tequila, you need to try their yuzu tequila. It was probably the best thing I had there.

The bad: the food. The food was meh and sadly, my salmon and tuna was fishy for me. I love salmon oshi and unfortunately this was probably one of the worst salmon oshi's I've ever had. The salmon was a bit fishy, there was too much rice and they just lacked the typical oshi flavor. The calamari and the mozza shrimp sticks were decent, they went great with the drinks. I loved how they use a lot of yuzu in their drinks and in their food.

I was a little sad that this place didn't meet my expectations as I had been looking forward to coming here. While I might not go back for raw food, I would absolutely come back for their drinks and that yuzu tequila!!

We decided to try Ene for supper but unfortunately we had a mixed experience. The vibes and service were great, creating a fun environment. The staff was also friendly. However, I found the food to be just okay. We tried the Atlantic salmon, Takoyaki, ebi oshi aburi and hanzo roll, but none of them really blew my mind. The rolls were ordinary and lacked that wow factor. For $80 including tip, I felt like it didn't satisfy those sushi/Japanese foods cravings . On a positive note, they offer a wide selection of sake, which can be exciting for sake lovers. Nonetheless, it can get quite loud, especially when other tables order their sake. While the ambiance was enjoyable, I don't think we will be returning due to the average quality of the food.
