1) Bringing the house up to code by creating a drain where previously only a fake drain existed
2) Various issues related to the toilet and tub piping/plumbing in our house with old bathroom fixtures

No one could ever accuse me of being a handy person. When the base of my dilapidated and stained toilet started leaking, I reached out to Paul at EPS. I learned that finding a replacement toilet is more involved process than I imagined -- especially since, like many bathrooms in SF, space is so limited. 12-inch vs. 10-inch round? I had no idea.

After a couple of texts and a phone with Paul, I got the info I needed to find a suitable replacement. Then when Paul and Viktor came, they installed it and hauled the old one away in record time. Paul is friendly, helpful, and so knowledgeable. Highly recommended!

Expert Plumbing Solutions had changed a bath faucet for me. It was a three-hour job that cost $1,240. I was okay with it and approved the deal. Paul was a nice person to work with.

But, after the job was done, the contractor told us there was a water leak on the toilet. He told us he could fix it by replacing the rubber tank flapper for $210. I know that a flapper generally cost about $5 at Home Depot, Lowes or ACE. I would understand a high quote if a plumber was called to the property to fixed something, but he had just finished a $1,200 job at the property and wanted a whopping $210 to replace a $5 rubber flapper? I thought that was a bit extreme. I know the same toilet tank was just serviced a few months ago. Also, no one had complained about the toilet. The contractor asked if he could look at the toilet right after the faucet job. Smells like an overprice scam to me..

I inquired about an issue with my new water heater and Paul quickly reached out. We hop on a call to troubleshoot and verify that it was indeed an issue with the heater itself and needed to reach out to the manufacturer. He provided his expertise, guidance and recommendations to help me further troubleshoot the issue. Thank you!

My kitchen sink decided to basically stop draining and after my own attempts at snaking I decided to get professional help. EPS were responsive through Yelp and provided a reasonable quote. I gave them a rang and they came the next morning. The job turned out harder than anticipated and required multiple snake attempts plus a camera to inspect where this blockage was happening. A few hours later they were successful, honored the quote and my kitchen sink was functional again. EPS were friendly, professional and took care to keep my house clean while they were working.

I had a minor problem with my main drain line. I live in the Sunset district in San Francisco, and a lot of the older houses have problems with the drain line and roots breaking the pipes. Paul did a great job of snaking the line to clear the roots and gave us many options in working through the problem. He was very communicative about our options both in the short and long term.

Ultimately we decided to hire him and his team to pull permits, excavate concrete, old pipes, replace them with new pipes, and schedule an inspections with the City. Paul made the experience so seamless and was transparent about the process, timeline, and managed our expectations. The team was done in three days from breaking the concrete, replacing the pipes, scheduling an inspection, and pouring the concrete.


I highly recommend working with him for all projects large and small! While it's true there are many options out there, knowledge and trust are a very rare combination these days. I had a minor plumbing problem and needed a quick quote. I sent pics to several plumbers with strong Yelp reviews. One wanted a $90 visit charge deductible with an on site estimate. Paul at Expert gave me a good quote, sent plumber Igor the next morning and fixed it quickly.

Came within 24 hours of my inquiry. The tech Victor snaked a poorly draining bathroom sink. He did it fast, clean and successfully. Great price.
