I've been wanting try souffle pancakes for so long and finally got a friend to come here with me. Dine Out Vancouver 2024 was on (and is on for a few more days at the time of writing), and I was worried about getting a table since we made plans last minute and they didn't have any reservations left, but, according to the person I spoke with when I called for the reservation, they reserve about 60% of tables for walk-ins. We were there at 4:30 and, while the place was decently busy, there was a table available right away. It's a little on the small side so I can see where it might be busier earlier in the day at a more typical brunch hour.
I ordered off the Dine Out "lunch" menu (which is available all day, the savoury "brunch" pancakes are only served 10:30-2:30). The lunch menu is $26 which is a pretty good value for the amount of food and labour-intensive nature of the pancakes.
I started with a rose & lychee soda. I was going to order an americano but they didn't have decaf espresso, so this was my second choice, but I actually enjoyed it more than I probably would've enjoyed anything with espresso. It had a nice floral flavour and wasn't super sweet like some sodas. It included actual fruit pulp along with whole lychee berries and rose petals which made it fun to drink.
For my appetizer, I got the mini tamago sando. This was simple but excellent - the bread looked like basic white bread but was actually rich and slightly sweet, making it unexpectedly a highlight of the sandwich for me, but the egg salad was great too. This was a good item to balance out the sweet pancake dish.
I had the limited hojicha mochi pancakes for my "main" course, and these absolutely met my expectations of what I'd been dreaming of. The tea flavour in the whipped cream and prepared thick hojicha served on the side to pour over the pancakes was really nice, and all the flavours went together perfectly. And the pillowy, fluffy pancakes were such a delight. The ice cream was the only component of the dish that was really sweet - the pancakes themselves weren't really sweet, the whipped cream was only lightly sweetened, and the red bean paste is more rich and earthy than sugary, so the dish as a whole isn't actually a sweetness overload despite how it might sound on paper. It was also lighter than it looks because everything is so fluffy, so even though it looks like a lot of food, one plate is easily manageable for a person with a normal appetite. My friend said she wasn't super hungry and didn't expect to be able to finish her plate when she saw other orders, but ended up downing it. This is actually a good thing in my eyes as I was worried about getting an unreasonable amount of food and I think the portion as it is is perfect.
The service was good. The waitress/cashier who served us mostly gave us space to enjoy our food and conversation but was very polite and did check in on us to see if we were enjoying everything. We didn't feel any pressure to get up and leave immediately after cleaning our plates. The vibe of the cafe is very comfy and relaxed. It's a cute aesthetic but not over-the-top. Overall a lovely experience and I'd definitely recommend giving them a try if you're wanting to try souffle pancakes. I'd love to go back during the brunch time and give the savoury version a try.

I would eat here every day if I could. Honestly would even consider moving here just because Vancouver has fufu cafe.

The fluffy soufflé pancakes are so light and soft that it's not a heavy breakfast at all. The eggs Benedict had the perfect poach and the hollandaise sauce was delicious. I was nervous that a specialty pancake place wouldn't nail the Benedict but they did. The sausage was the perfect amount of sweet to balance the savory eggs Benedict. The pancakes had a neutral flavor so they weren't too sweet or too savory for the dish. The salad was dressed with kewpie sesame and it was such a nice light Sal and to balance the decadent pancakes.

The mango sando was so refreshing and just the right amount of sweet. It reminded me of my childhood eating butter and sugar toast but way lighter and refreshing.

The matcha strawberry milk was definitely very strong in the matcha flavor but the sweet strawberry was the perfect balance to counter the bitter matcha.

Service was excellent and friendly. We asked about the Tamago sando and they said they didn't offer the savory sandwiches today, but they ended up making it for us anyway! We took them home to enjoy and they were absolutely delicious. Tasted like I was back in Japan enjoying my Family Mart breakfast.

The seating is limited so definitely try to go right when they open to get a spot. It's bright and airy, giving a very relaxing environment to enjoy the delicious food and drinks!

I went back with another friend for brunch and got to try something savoury! The okonomiyaki pancake was amazing - the same fluffy pancakes as last time, generously topped with a delicious shredded cabbage salad with nori and bonito flakes. I don't think I've had bonito flakes of this quality before - they were large flakes with texture and fishy (in a good way, as seafood should have) flavour, not like the dry papery kind I usually see. The savoury preparation makes it more apparent that the pancakes themselves are slightly sweet, but this goes really well with the flavours of this dish, and I would imagine with the benedicts too. My friend got the smoked salmon benedict pancakes and said they were amazing too, and "even the salad is delicious".
I also got a black sesame milk which came out great - very nutty - and a matcha white chocolate cookie. The cookie had a strong matcha flavour (which you can see in the rich colour) but there wasn't so much that it was bitter or grassy, and had the ideal chewy texture. Was big enough to split, but I could've eaten it by myself.
Service was pleasant again this time around and the pancakes came out remarkably fast (considering the necessary time required to make them), although that probably had something to do with the fact that we were the first seated with our reservation at 11. It didn't fill up while we were there so I don't think we needed our reservation (it was a weekday), but they did get decently busy.

Fufu Pancake Cafe has some of the best soufflé pancakes ever - with a wide assortment of both sweet and savory ones.

On my last visit there, I ordered the Tiramisu Soufflé Pancake, which came with a stack of 2 pancakes topped with a delicious custard topping and a crispy, crunchy caramelized sugar crust on top.

My first time here and both food and service was excellent. Need to reserve a table in advanced. Lunch of BC Blueberry Honey Ricotta, Mango Passionfruit Tiramusu, Sesame Latte and Matcha Latte. And the Sesame latte was authentic! The pancakes were airy, fluffy, and jiggly (goes well with 'my money don't jiggle jiggle' song). Will come again for a sweet treat.

We were craving souffle pancakes and Fufu Cafe did not disappoint us. I used to taste only sweet souffles so glad to know that they offer savoury as well. But first, I enjoyed their Halloween special menu which is ube and pumpkin-flavoured souffle pancakes with vanilla ice cream such a cute spooky and lovely presentation. As for the taste, the pancakes were so fluffy and pillowy with the right amount of sweetness that goes well with the whipped cream, ube-pumpkin puree and vanilla ice cream.

For their savoury pancake, we had the Egg Benedict souffle pancake with smoked salmon($22), I was surprised by how delicious the combination of soft souffle which is a little sweet to the smoked salmon, egg and hollandaise sauce was, their side salad was fresh with tasty dressing as well.
Overall, the place has a simple yet nice setup, the food presentation is on point, kind staff, and of course, the menus are both sweet and savoury are delicious, they have more options on their menus that I'd love to come back to taste their other flavours.
Highly recommended for brunch, desserts, and simply coffee moments.

I went here for brunch with a friend and we both had a fantastic experience. The staff were extremely kind and helpful and the cafe was calm but bright and had a very classy interior.

I ordered the egg benedict souffle pancake with Oyama sausages and was pleasantly surprised at how well the sweet fluffy pancakes mixed with the savory flavour of the eggs and sausage.

My friend ordered the Tiramisu Souffle Pancake and truly enjoyed it. I tried a bite and it was very sweet but balanced well with the side of espresso given.

I would go back again for a fun brunch with friends.

I love souffle pancake. It all began with SHIAWASE NO PANCAKE, or GRAM in Osaka. Unlike regular pancakes, this batter is made fluffy by whipping the egg whites. I had my first taste of these fluffy soufflé pancakes in Osaka, and I can still vividly recall the excitement and amazement I felt when I experienced a texture like never before.
Following that, soufflé pancakes began to gain popularity in North America. One of my favorites is the one served at Fufu Pancake Cafe, which is remarkably similar to the one I enjoyed in Osaka.

I tried several pancakes in this place.
      What I got this time:
Blueberry souffle pancake - Three soufflé pancakes were topped with blueberry yogurt sauce, fresh blueberries, and granola, with a side of ice cream. The yogurt sauce had the perfect level of sweetness--neither too sour nor too sweet; it was just right. The crunchy granola complemented the sauce beautifully."
The pancake was incredibly fluffy, with a cloud-like center that remained moist. The texture was truly exceptional.

Tiramisu souffle pancake - Three soufflé pancakes, mascarpone cheese cream, espresso sauce, dark chocolate curls, espresso flake ice cream, cocoa powder. This is my fav! It felt as if I were savoring tiramisu; the mascarpone cheese cream and espresso sauce were incredibly delicious. The espresso flake ice cream had a rich coffee flavor with actual pieces of espresso flake, making it a delightful treat. I definitely plan to order this again.

My partner ordered the Smoked Salmon and Avocado soufflé pancake. I didn't taste it, but it looked really appealing, especially for those who enjoy savory flavors.

Overall, I am highly satisfied with this place, and I consider it a must-visit. I will definitely recommend it to my friends and family.

We dove into the Thai Milk Tea Panna Cotta Soufflé Pancake (summer edition) at Fufu Cafe - snagged a fab BOGO 50% off deal during the Bubble Tea Passport event. This was a steal! The trio of soufflé pancakes was a dream, crowned with Thai tea-infused whipped cream and brown sugar tapioca pearls.
Alongside, a Thai milk tea panna cotta and a drizzle of brown sugar syrup set the stage.

Those pancakes were such a delight. They were soft and oh-so-fluffy. The Thai tea whipped cream gave a bubble tea twist, and the brown sugar syrup playtime was a sweet bonus. I enjoyed the balance of sweetness, which was perfect for my taste. A shout-out to the Thai milk tea panna cotta - it added a fantastic combination. Love, love, loved this dish!

#hcfphotocontest2024 @fufupancakecafe was definitely the most eye catching drink on my @hotchocolatefest list, both in terms of visual and flavour combination. While it definitely delivers in presentation, I am unfortunately a bit let down when it comes to the taste. As a taro fan, I was expecting stronger flavour, but they mostly tasted like cream. Hot chocolate itself was a bit weak and too milky. If you're interested in trying it, I believe today is the last day that they are offering this menu.

Was so excited to see Fufu Pancakes participating Dine Out Vancouver this year I made sure we arrived before opening since I missed out on making a reservation for this and next weekend and they are fully booked for the two weekends. There were at least 20 people in line by the time the restaurant opened with half in queue that has made reso already. The restaurant is very organized with a good amount of seatings for walks-ins and reservations.

On to the food! For the DOV menu they have two options - Brunch ($29, served till 2:30pm) and Lunch Option ($26, served all day). The difference between the two option is that the brunch option is all savoury pancake selections versus lunch are all sweet pancake selections, but both comes with your selection of mini sando and drink that's in the DOV menu. We ordered DOV Brunch ( Mini Tomago Sandwich + Egg Benedict Soufflé Pancake w/ Oyama Sausages + Rose & Lychee) and a DOV Lunch ( Mini Tomago Sandwich + Tiramisu Soufflé Pancake + Peppermint Hot Chocolate). The mini sandwich was a great starter and balancer depending if you order a savoury or sweet pancake because the sando has a sweet and savoury option too! The pancakes here are out of this world and are fluffy light souffle pancakes! I can't believe it took me this long to try this place! And surprisingly both savoury and sweet options for the pancake works so well! Drinks were very tasty and I absolutely love how the dishes and drinks are not overly sweet! Overall a fantastic experience here dining in!
