Is the 15% service charge mandatory for parties of 2 people?

      A:

Do not know but there was a mandatory 18% service fee for 4 people. Plus the sales tax is based on the food and mandatory service fee.

Overall is good but could be better.

Had their special pineapple bun (polo bao) with a whole chicken in it. This was unique as I've not seen it anywhere here in the U.S., though this is something I've had back in my home country (not in China!). This dish could be improved significantly if they do not wrap the chicken with foil but to use parchment paper instead so that the chicken flavor would go into the bread as well. In my home country, we cook the chicken with curry so not only is the chicken flavorful but the bread also has the chicken and curry aroma.

Other dishes we had were good except the steam fish. The fish was steamed too long that the fish was dry.

Parents wanted Dim Sum and we heard raving reviews about this place. We decided to check it out since we were in the East Bay. We were quoted 30-45 minutes for a table of 3, which wasn't too bad as there were lots of bigger parties. We were seated before the 45 minute mark.

Ordering - the host gave us the ipad to order from and didn't really explain that we can only do 1 order and it logs us out from the menu selection. We had to wave down a server to unlock it so we can continue ordering our food.

Host asked us if we wanted tea, we declined and said no, but please give us 3 waters. She brought us tea and we were charged for it. :( & Water didn't come until half an hour later.

Food - It took forever! I think 1 dish came out every 5-10 minutes.
Once the hargow hit the table we asked for soy sauce. & Guess what? we never got it. We asked 3 different servers and the lady manager and we ended up just using the sauce from the okra dish (which was still tasty)
They were also out of the tri-color XLB and they didn't inform us until, again, we waved down a server and asked them whats taking so long on it. They didn't know, so they went to check and then a manager/super came and let us know they were out of that item. Which was whatever cus we were done with this place.
Oh and food was mid. We've had better (and cheaper) at the togo Dim sum places.
      Items we ordered:
      Boiled Okra
      Chicken feet
      Tripe
^ Can't really say much about these 3 items, cus I did not eat them, my parents did.
Hargow - **double the shrimp, so that was a plus**
Shumai - this one is an all shrimp shumai.
Panfried Chive & Shrimp dumpling - Could've been fried a little more.
XLB - Texture of the meat was off. Soup flavor was decent.
Shrimp in tofu skin - To me this was a bit off bcus I'm used to eating this fried and crunchy. The one they had was in a broth and made the tofu skin soggy.
Dessert - egg tart & custard bun. The custard bun wins. Egg tart wasn't baked all the way and the filling was not firm.

Ambience - REALLY LOUD, weirdly sectioned off rooms of the restaurant.

Will we ever go back? Probably not. Why? 1. it's far from us. 2. the experience was horrible. 3. there are far better places close by.

First time here. Family recommended this place despite the bad reviews here.

The green bean and the black cod was the best-the beans were lightly crunchy while the lightly fried black cod was perfectly crispy and seasoned.

The bbq pork puff and tripe were just ok-wouldn't order again. Tripe was bland and pork puff layers were greasy and heavy.
The sticky rice had good flavor with lots of salted egg and pork chunks.

The beef stew and rice noodle had a savory and rich star anise and licorice flavor-similar to Hing Lung in San Bruno/SF.

Lunch time was packed with the entire front area full of patrons-so I'd come early if you come here on a weekend. There were definitely some rude people trying to cut in line, but we waited maybe 30 min.

Food was so oily!!! Our eyes were more hungry than our stomachs cuz we ordered a lot but halfway thru the meal I legit couldn't eat anymore cuz I started to feel sick. I feel like this only happens at dimsum restaurants lol. But when food is literally so oily you get slightly nauseous and don't want to eat anymore. Do you know what I mean?

Think this place is over hyped. And theres a lot of random stuff on the menu that isn't particularly good but just there for the "appeal" factor. Like the fried "lychee" that is just a shrimp ball coated in toasted rice.

Not worth the line and price imo.

      Quick take: weekday dining

I'm not sure how crazy busy this place gets on the weekend. Restaurant is big and spacious with nice chandeliers.

Service was okay even comparing to service at other dim sum restaurants. Our tea was too concentrated but they wouldn't give us a pot of hot water. Instead the waiter brought out a glass of hot water. He told us we can't have another pot at our table. Just bizarre.

Food is pretty standard and we didn't order anything special.

      TLDR: We won't go back.
Story: We were there for dim sum and service was whatever, typical Chinese dim sum place yk. So my aunt paid and I believe she tipped like 10%. This guy had the audacity to chase after my aunt and push one of our family members on the way out and demand more tip. We refused after this and guy brought out his manager to ask for more..

      Updated review

Our dim sum adventure was a mix of anticipation, flavors, and a touch of patience.

Reservation Woes: Despite making a reservation via the app for 12:30 PM, we found ourselves waiting for around 30 minutes upon arrival. The restaurant was bustling, and it seemed like everyone had the same idea. But hey, good things are worth waiting for, right?
Dim Sum Staples: We dove into the menu, ordering an array of dim sum classics. Here's what graced our table:

Hargow: These delicate shrimp dumplings were mostly delightful, but there was a minor hiccup. The filling had an unexpected powdery texture, different from our previous visit.
Siu Mai: The steamed pork and shrimp dumplings were spot-on--juicy, flavorful, and a must-order.
Mushroom Rice Noodles: A vegetarian delight! The slippery rice noodles wrapped around earthy mushrooms made for a comforting dish.
Chicken Feet and Pork Rib Combo: This combo delivered tender chicken feet and succulent pork ribs. The flavors were rich and satisfying.
Sugar Donuts: A sweet finish to our dim sum feast. These golden orbs were crispy on the outside and pillowy soft inside.
Sticky Rice with Meat Wrapped in Lotus Leaf: My favorite! Unwrapping the lotus leaf revealed a treasure trove of sticky rice, marinated meat, and fragrant aromatics. Each bite was a symphony of textures and flavors.

*Note: The 15% service charge was already included in the bill.

This place is so underrated. So far I have been here twice, most recently on Memorial Day. They were definitely packed but we reserved a table for four on the DInfo app that they use and they were able to get our table pretty quickly when we arrived (probably around 10 minutes)

We ordered most of the dimsum staples, hargow, siu mai, the mushroom rice noodles, the chicken feet and pork rib combo, and the sugar donuts. All of them were quite good, except one complaint about the hargow had a bit of a powdery tasting filling that was different from the first time we went. One of the favorite dishes we ordered was the XO sauce rice noodles. The total for all the dishes came out to about $30 per person. Note, the service charge WAS included on the bill.

Overall I would still recommend coming here!

4.28 stars for the food! 2.88 stars for the service, but you don't go to a dim sum spot for the service! Just expect them to seat you according to how busy it is (DON'T COME ON A HOLIDAY, LUNAR NEW YEAR, or PRIME TIME DURING A WEEKEND when the place is unbearably busy). Do expect them to bring you your order in a timely fashion on less busy days. The dining area is a Chinese banquet hall so the ambiance is pretty fancy with GINORMOUS flat screen TVs and elegant chandeliers. Don't expect staff to go above and beyond because that's just not how dim sum places work.

Fusion Delight is my go-to spot whenever I take my mom out for dim sum, and I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a legit fried rice and some unique and tasty dim sum items that other spots don't have.

First off, as a FRIED RICE freak, I LOVE their "Classic Special Fried Rice in Claypot" ($20.95): this fried rice has savory morsels of seafood, tobiko roe, golden threads of egg, scallions and cilantro, and it is my FAVORITE fried rice in the East Bay area, besides my own of course! I will always order this fried rice each time I go!

Boiled Beef Tripe in Premium Broth: tripe is a staple dim sum dish my mom and I usually get. This one has very subtle flavor, not too salty, but tastes fresh and the chewy bounciness of the tripe is definitely an acquired texture, but I enjoy it! May skip next time and try some more of their other unique items that I didn't try this time.

Crispy Fish Buns: more like fancy fried fish sliders. The fish, cucumber, kewpie-like mayo, and cabbage were tasty, but the bun/bread was dense and heavier than the fish itself. If it were lighter, softer, and less bready, it would be higher on my enjoyment scale. Would not get again.

Deep fried shrimp with lychee: had not seen this item before. Pretty to look at, taste was basically fried shrimp balls with a unique outer crispy coating. The lychee taste didn't stand out, but they sure look like fried lychee spheres! I'd get this again to impress friends!

Deep fried tofu skin wrap with salad: this was definitely new! The crispy tofu wrapped combination of what I believe is shrimp, pork, and vegetables, was par for the course as far as tofu skin aka bean curd fried dim sum goes. It sure looks nice dangling on the skewer over a bed of keypie dressed salad with cherry tomatoes and tobiko roe. I'd get this again to impress friends!

Dumplings with mixed mushrooms and truffle: these were legit good. The truffle taste was on point and satisfied my high expectations for what truffle should taste like. I'd safely guess that there aren't real Italian truffles in the dumplings and instead, they use truffle oil. But it is a well prepared mushroom filling (and possibly pork??) in a sticky steamed dumpling skin. I'd get this again for sure.

Pan fried country style lotus root with minced fish: I always get this because I love lotus root! The stuffing is likely more than just fish, and I'd wager good money it's pork and some water chestnut. Delish and would get again!

The tea I usually order with my mom is Jasmine (香片 or 茉莉花茶). $1.50 to $2 tea charge per person depending on the kind of tea.

Prices for each dim sum dish depends on the size and category (L, XL, K). Our total tab was about $102 for 6 dim sum items and one large fried rice.

NOTE: THE RESTAURANT AUTOMATICALLY CHARGES A SERVICE CHARGE of 15% no matter your party size. Double check before you add your own gratuity, unless you are extra generous!

I came to dim sum with my parents on a Saturday morning around 10AM. We were seated immediately and the place was packed. Service was ok.

The food was cold and highly priced for dim sum. The pictures and English translations were incorrect. I was very disappointed after we got the bill and paid $300 for 5 people - cold and bad food. I would not recommend this place.
