Giant Hauling & Demolition

Bryner Dinez, owner of Giant Hauling & Demolition, was a pleasure to work with, and he and his team did a fabulous job. From the start, Bryner was very helpful with planning issues and worked to accommodate my difficult schedule. He was also very responsive to communications from me all throughout the process and very patient with my needed delays. When I was finally ready, he brought his very hard-working team. Everyone was very polite and respectful of my property, and they did an excellent job demolishing a 70 year old 2 story wooden shed that was falling apart, and removing the concrete base it stood on. They also removed a peach tree and a big jade plant which had both been planted in a bad place many decades ago. I could see no trace of them after they'd been removed. Unlike many companies, they arrived at the agreed upon time, and they cleaned up well after themselves. Yet the price was less than some other estimates I had received. I am so glad I chose that company. Highly recommended!

(I don't know why Yelp completely messed up the order of the photos which I had arranged in order of Before, During & After, but Yelp shuffled all my photos into no order at all, so you'll have to figure out the order on your own.)

After doing an exhaustive search to remove our pool in Redwood City, we picked Giant Hauling. Price was competitive with the work that needed to be done. They were great initially and very responsive....

... then various reasons for not demo'ing the pool started creeping up. Death in the family (totally understandable), getting the permit (never got the permit or started it from what I can see from the city) and constantly pushing out the dates. They finally became unresponsive. This whole process dragged out for 6 months, while the empty pool was a safety hazard.

I am OK with the pool not being the job scoped correctly for the price or that they cannot do the job. All you need is a text or email to clarify that this job is out of scope. Ghosting a potential customer is not a way to deal with a potential customer. We ultimately went with our #2 choice and have not been happier.

Giant hauling offered extremely reasonable prices. They were super fast, efficient, and very professional. They completed our demo within 1 day! Great team would definitely recommend.

Before start, they isolate kitchen by applying vinyl to control debris and covered kitchen to protect floor.
After done, cleaned everything up.
Bryner is very responsive and easy to communicate also.

3. He and his crew showed up on time;
4. They completed the job within the time promised;
5. He delivered what he said he would deliver and the quality of the job was high;
6. The crew cleaned up very well after completing the job;
7. He submitted an invoice right after finishing the job.

My project timeline ultimately did not allow Bryner/Giant Hauling and Demo to do work on it, but Bryner referred me to the company (another great choice) that did do the work plus more extensive utility stuff outside his business scope. I did have several weeks of contact with him, as we were hoping that he'd be able to work on the project, and in our interactions, Bryner was always professional, helpful, patient, authentic, really nice, and such a breath of fresh air after dealing with some other jaded and dismissive building industry folks who act like they're doing you a favor to take your call. Fantastic service by Bryner and his team. They arrived early, demolished my kitchen as requested, and cleaned everything up. Strongly recommend for any demo work!

Bryner came to our house to give us the estimate for the demolition of our fireplace. He reviewed our setup in detail, using a ladder to climb to the attic crawl space to look at the structure.

He gave a rough estimate because it wasn't clear how built out the fireplace was behind the wall. Our fireplace is somewhat non-standard since it cut diagonally across a corner, which is one of the reason we're taking it out (to gain more space).

His estimate was the most competitive.

When the team came to carry out the work, they were extremely careful to layout protective layers on the floor (even though we were taking it out anyway). They were committed to treating as if it were flooring that needed to remain. They worked both directions (from the chimney down and taking out the front veneer below). In particular, I was so impressed with the work on the roof. The worker was taking it brick by brick, which a chisel and hammer to remove each brick. He laid it down on a protected sheet on the roof carefully. He moved it carefully to the edge and deposited into the dump truck bed.

On the inside, the other work removed a really large mantle with the utmost care.

The last part required a lot of work, excavating down to the lower crawlspace and removing the concrete base using a combination of a jackhammer and cutting tool.

The entire fireplace was removed as if someone literally peeled it off the house while leaving the surrounding walls, the flooring and the roof untouched.
