Guru Cab Service

I love these guys. It's pretty simple, I call they show up. Even at 4 in the morning. Great service to Oakland airport: on time, friendly, efficient, clean, heck even chipper even early in the morning. They have been my exclusive local taxi service for over ten years.

To be a cab company you'd think they'd have availability!
Especially when Lyft and Uber is available nowadays! I called a total of four cab services for an elderly man on my own time.

Nothing but love here. Saved my bacon at 430 this morning when my "friend" was a no show to take me to the airport. They are great, fast and friendly and also have a high tolerance for a car full of anebriated passengers. Thanks Singh!

This is the best taxi services that I have been using for quite some time now. It has the best service here in the East Bay. I called them to make a reservation for 5:00 in the morning going to SFO from Alameda. The driver arrived time and it was a pleasant ride. The driver really takes good care of you.

Asked for a 5:15 am pickup to go to Oakland airport. He got there at 5:00am. Was pleasant and fast.

Called for pick up from ferry building on Main Street in Alameda at 11:30pm and was told they don't service that area...leaving us stranded! Had to get a taxi service from Oakland instead.

Passengers beware!!! I was ripped off by Guru Taxicab Service on the eve of Thanksgiving Day. The cab driver driver claimed that she did not have change for a $20 bill to pay for a $9 fare. The driver took off with the twenty; cha-ching! I called to complain to the dispatcher. The dispatcher apologized and offered to bring my change to me the following day and leave it in my mailbox. Next problem; he did, but he short changed me $4!!! -cha-ching! I called to bring this to his attention, but they would not answer to phone. I left a message to inform them of the the incorrect change amount and requested a proper refund, but they never returned my call. Do they think they deserve a 44% tip!!!? LOL!!!. Alameda is a small town. How can people get away with this? I trusted you, Guru Cab. : ( ASK THE DRIVER IF HE-SHE HAS CHANGE BEFORE YOU GIVE THEM ANY MONEY!!!

My fam & I requested a 9PM p/u from the East Bay to SFO. I spoke with Guru twice & explained that we had 2 adults and 2 kids with 8 pieces of luggage/50 lbs ea. Their website states that they have exp transporting children with special needs so he even inquired about our need for a car seat. Unfortunately when the driver arrived he immediately began complaining about the amount of luggage and stated he would have to charge an add'l fee. Fine, we had no choice as we couldn't call another service or we would miss our flight. He had haphazardly fit the first few pieces of luggage in the back so my mother and I had to reaccomodate everything and managed to fit all luggage in the back with room left for an unobstructed rear view. We left for the airport and the driver turned on the meter, I figured it was protocol since Guru had said that SFO was a flat fee of $65. The driver kept complaining about the number of luggage and even had said that I had misinformed Guru by saying I had 8 small pieces! why would I lie if it would only complicate our transportation needs? not wanting to aggravate the situation we agreed to the add'l fee of $25. Once we got to the airport he put all our luggage on the curb and as I'm trying to gather my two small children (one with special needs), two luggage carts and 10 pieces of luggage, he starts calculating a meter charge of $85, 25 for the extra luggage and $5 for toll! I said no way, Guru said a flat fee and that was all I was going to pay. He said that HE doesn't charge a flat fee, which I said was not my prob and he should have clarified with his boss. He said that Guru was not his boss and that he was charging me his fees. what kind of service tells you one price and then sends a driver who charges something different? He said my total was $115 which I was very frustrated with and said I wouldn't pay and would call Guru. As I'm calling Guru, the driver says, "fine, $100 but don't ever call me again!" what nerve, the only thing I'd be calling him is an F$%! A..hole! As I tried to call Guru and tell him my concern, he apparently didn't care and simply hung up on me. Well, I told the driver that I would only pay him the agreed upon fee and the add'l charge, he agreed to $95 but complained about everything. I felt that he was trying to take advantage of the fact that we didn't have any tranportation options, and he had no compassion for my mother and I traveling with two children as he stood there bitching about his fees as I'm trying to load up my luggage and watch my children. I will NEVER call them again & would not recommend them to anyone. The driver lacked professionalism, courtesy and was flat out trying to get over.

terrible, terrible, terrible!!! do not book with this taxi unless you want to miss your flight!!! highly unprofessional!! you have been warned.
