Reposting due to Yelp Filter: I am sorry to see all of the not so great reviews. To tell the truth I never thought I would be able to purchase anything from this store. Until one day, I decided I needed something in particular. I started my search for something to store my linens in. I was thinking of maybe a bench with a lid or even a ottoman to set at the base of my bed. I began the day at Ross (nice price but quality and choice was lacking) and then at Pier One ( Ross Quality but Lamely High Prices!). Then I began my walk down 10th Street. A bunch of furniture stores, some estate furniture and new furniture (ordered from china). Then I decided to check out Harrington's and Community Thrift Store. Community Thrift store had the regular choices with one big surprise ( a Local World Champion Baseball Player) had just unloaded a bunch of awesome furniture. Too bad I didn't need an Armoire or Bar. Then I ventured to Harrington's I found just what I needed. And at the Price I wanted. I was able to negotiate for 2 pieces. Bought them that day and came back to pick them up later that day. Love them. For the most part the staff was awesome. Only negative is that I didn't get a receipt for my purchase. I called the store and the person who answered the phone was reluctant to send me a receipt via fax so when I asked them to mail it they had to get approval. ??? Seriously?

All in all, It's on my list of furniture resources.

We were struggling to find the perfect couch for our space and Harrington's came to the rescue. They helped us pick out the right model, came to our space to help us decide on the right fabric, and made our sofa dreams come true. Could not be happier!

One of the coolest furniture stores in sf, lots of vintage and new pieces from multiple designers. I got a small round table and two chairs(shown in photo). I also went with my bf and they were really honest about a piece they sold to him at a huge discount because of a flaw in the design.The only negative is they don't do delivery(even for a fee), but I recommend calling Uber xl if it is a smaller piece.

A friend of mine recommended Harrington for a custom sofa and I'm so glad they did! We were deciding between Harrington or a popular online couch company, but ultimately went with Harrington since for about the same price they offered customization, faster delivery, and created the couches locally in California.

Throughout the process we experienced wonderful customer service. They chatted with us over Facetime multiple times to choose our perfect couch color and lock in the details. After that they communicated with us when to expect delivery, etc...

Overall we are so happy with our purchase and would definitely buy from them again!

After giving them 1 star I am modifying to 3 stars, as I was given a payment to make up for the part of the sofa that was defective. While I am glad we were able to get some sort of resolution, it's unfortunate how long it took and that we have a piece of furniture that isn't holding up.

I regret shopping here. Spent nearly $6k in new furniture in the fall of 2020, including $4k for a custom made queen sleeper sofa. About a year and a half after purchase/delivery, started noticing a severe warping across the base of the sofa where the cushion rests. Also started noticing the foam of the support pillows in some starting to contort, not keeping a normal shape. Earlier this year (less that 3 years) the fabric started to develop holes. I reported this issue starting in the early summer of 2022. It took a long time to get a reply, and delays in responding were always met with excuses. The owner finally came to our house to examine the issue of the warping many almost a year after reporting the issue. Her solution was to smooth it out with her hand and call it a victory. Less than 24 hours later, the area continued to to show the deformity. I continued to request for some kind of make good. Often my messages would go without a reply for weeks, sometimes more than a month. So I kept chasing. In the summer I was finally told a partial refund would be considered, but then there was no reply. I continued to follow up only to be met with excused, and told they would get in touch at a certain date. They asked to come to the house again, which I declined, as they had come once and I supplied them with numerous photos. Finally I was offered a 20% refund on just the portion of the sofa damaged. I pushed back and suggested it should be off the the entire sofa given the other damage areas. Then there was no reply for several weeks. Finally, after more prodding, they replied 2 weeks ago and instead offered a "matching ottoman" as a solution. I immediately replied that was not acceptable, and have followed up multiple times and gotten no answer. From a customer service perspective, this is ranks among the worst I've had. I was happy to shop locally and support a long-standing SF business vs. going big box, but I deeply regret the decision and would urge anyone to think twice before entering the store. They clearly don't stand for quality, and clearly don't care about the customer experience.

Much has changed at this location as the store had moved to the second floor and a new entrance had been created. That being said, I've always enjoyed visiting this store because the inventory changes frequently and there is always something cool to see and experience. The warehouse is huge and has an eclectic mix of furniture options and decent prices.

I bought a sofa a year ago from Harrington. This was my first big furniture purchase in a while and I am glad I made the right choice with this place! The sofa is SUPER comfortable and feels the same as when I got it a year ago, maybe even better since I broke it in. I've made a few spills on it, and although it's a white fabric I was able to get even red wine out just by using folex. I was shopping around for a while and at the time sofa's I wanted from Room & Board, Crate and Barrel, even Living Spaces were telling me 10-12 weeks out for delivery. Harrington, however, was able to deliver in 6! Customer service was great and Fiona answered my questions via email in a timely manner. Overall highly satisfied with my purchase. :)

It seems my original review from a few years back was recently 'flagged' - so I'm updating and reposting.

Terrible terrible experience. Upon entering an elderly man babbling in the front of the store screamed at and gave the finger to some shoppers for coming in with a service dog that he deemed a "threat". Not to mention the furniture is over priced and can be found cheaper on many of the great new SF-based furniture sites. Don't waste your time.

What an amazing store for gorgeous sofas and beautiful furniture. Every piece I've purchased from Harrington's is subtle and tasteful. Fiona is sweet and always available to help. She is honest and has impeccable taste.

If you are looking to furnish your home, or find a specific piece, I highly recommend visiting Harrington's. The store is a pleasure to stroll through.

I always love going into Harrington's, whether it's for a particular piece or just to browse. It's a beautiful space and they're really knowledgeable and helpful, including with our purchase a couple of years ago of a custom sofa that would fit in our Edwardian flat's smallish living room. We wound up with a sofa that is the perfect size and with lovely fabric that is also very forgiving of occasional mishaps. We've also gone in hunting a new dining table and finally found the right one on our last visit. They're a classic, family-owned small business in SF, something that has become harder to find and even more important to support in our city over the last couple of decades, and the great thing is, you can support them and quality culture in SF while also getting quality furniture.
