Hawksworth restaurant is an upscale dining experience that offers creative cuisine with an emphasis on fish. There is a nightly tasting menu, but we opted for à la cart selections in order to try more items.
We started with the chips and dip and the bread service, both were good choices to get warmed up for our starters.
All of the starters were excellent. We had asparagus soup, steelhead tartare served on endive, and Burrata cheese.
Our entrées included Lamb, Seabass, and Hamachi (which was served raw, but with a broth poured over it). We all liked the entrées, but I don't think they were as good as the starters.
Service throughout was friendly and professional.
There is an extensive wine list from a broad range of countries, but with no depth of vintage.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 24, 2024
We came here for their pre-fixe menu. Overall, pretty solid, but nothing was exceptional.
In addition to the pre-fixe menu I ordered their fois gras-- in my opinion that was the best dish of the night.
The ambiance is lovely and the service was outstanding.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 384072555Jan 27, 2024
The only reason this restaurant didn't gain my full stars was because we felt discriminated by the hostess right when we entered. As we waited for our turn to be entertained, we watched the hostess enthusiastically check in coats and take cake of the wet umbrella of the party in front of us. After she greeting us, although our family was visibly soaked from the rain, there was no mention of coat check and didn't offer any help with our wet umbrella. She even saw my son struggling with the umbrella bag dispenser and didn't say nor offer anything at all. Instead she whisked us off to the maître d and off to our table! It felt very awkward having to keep our wet coats on the backs of our sets and our bagged umbrella on the floor behind where we sat.
I kept quiet about it because I didn't want to ruin a Friday evening, more so a rainy night when we were wet walking to the restaurant. Then during dinner, my husband and both our sons raised it up and validated what we all felt - WE WERE DISCRIMINATED!
Otherwise, I totally agree with Yelper Ron P. that this restaurant is "outstanding in every way".

Ambiance is nice, modern yet rich in wood interiors that spells elegance. Our server has a strong French accent which elevated the experience. He was very patient, assuring us that we have the whole night to enjoy while waiting for 2 pax who were late for around 45mins. instead of rushing us to fill a next seating.
Food is delectable and heavenly presented. We complained of unpleasant Uni on the seafood tower and was replaced right away.
We had such a lovely night...but could be better if we were treated like everybody else. I wonder why... The server very much made a difference for the ruined night.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 334551515Apr 30, 2024
Came by for happy hour and it was busy!! Luckily we were able to snag a table in the lounge and we were able to enjoy some of their raw oysters and cauliflower bites. Both were tasty and Soo worth it! Tried out their iced tea mocktails which was delicious as well

We came on a Tuesday for lunch. We got the lunch set. Which consisted of the following:
Red pepper gazpacho - very refreshing - essentially a cold vegetable soup with crunchy vegetables. Nice contrast of textures and flavours. Red pepper really stood out in this dish.
36 hour beef short rib - main dish was a little bit of a let down for me. The crispy onions weren't crispy enough and the sauce on the beef short rib was a little too sweet for me. The blue cheese helped balance this out a big but would have appreciated more lemon vinaigrette.
Lemon verrine was the highlight of the 3 courses. It was sour and sweet and made me want more. The almond crumble and tuile added that perfect crunch. Very refreshing and delicious.
Overall: I've been to Hawksworth on 3 different occasions. Twice for lunch and once for happy hour. It's a place that guarantees good service and a good time. The food can be a hit or miss sometimes but you can tell they've put in the effort in creating their dishes. Would recommend the lunch tasting menu for anyone who wants to get a sample of what Hawksworth is all aboutHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 4, 2024
Loved everything about Hawksworth's Valentine's Day menu! The sablefish was to die for, and the king salmon was surreal. I recommend pairing the seared scallops with the sablefish! The textures and flavors of this dish was delicious. I really like how perfectly everything was cooked and how unique the presentation of the dishes were. Our server, Andre, was a gem as well! Not only was he friendly, efficient, and knowledgable, but his photography skills were on point when we wanted a photo taken. I also really like the ambiance of the restaurant as it was classy, yet felt cozy at the same time. Id love to try their other menu items!

I am giving Hawksworth 3\5 stars as the tasting menu was OK, I would have liked it a lot better if they were able to give more food than desserts. The presentation was decent, if you want to add lobster or scallop is an additional $20 (their lobster piece was small)! I wasn't full from our tasting menu and wanted more...(as in i'm still hungry and not satisfied). I had high expectations as this was my first time at their restaurant. I've had their food at their rooftop a few years ago and it was delicious. Service was great! They were accommodating and even apologized for not bringing out the other wine that went with our cod and still brought it to us in the end. Ambiance is elegant and cozy inside (: I wouldn't come here again for dinner because it was quite over priced however compared to other 1 star Michelin restaurants - it's definitely a lot more affordable. I would want to try their lunch menu or their burger next time though. I am aware that their tasting menu changes every couple weeks or few months ? The tasting menu we had was mediocre !

This place is absolutely top notch. Easily top 5 restaurants in all of Vancouver. Every dish is well thought out and executed to perfection. Don't ask for any substitutions because it just won't happen lol.
We started out in the lounge were they have amazing cocktails and appetizers. The burger and drink combo cannot be beat. We moved to the dining room and had a spectacular full meal. Service and ambiance are world class. If you're looking to splurge, then do it here!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 1, 2023
Another amazing meal from Hawksworth.
The food is so delicious and the presentation is out of this world.
The baked Alaska was a treat to see as well as so tasty, it's a definite must if you like baked Alaska or dessert!!
The service was impeccable as well.
Love this place and if you are having a special occasion or just want a fine meal go to Hawksworth, they won't disappoint you.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
