This was a really fun place. All the food we ordered was great.
We got the Signature magnificient 7 - the only problem with this one is how to share it :)
My daughter loved the gigantic bao with the straw :)
The har gao, the pork bun and the shrimp dumplings were also excellent.
The service was also excellent.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 9547828Aug 18, 20241 check-in
We were looking for a spot near our hotel and we are suckers for XLB, so we knew immediately where we were going when this showed up on Yelp. It's a small spot but they have a person rolling dumplings behind some glass when you walk in, which is always entertaining.
We were seated immediately and the ladies that worked there were so nice. They walked us through the menu and made some suggestions.
I'm a sucker for a gimmick, so I knew the giant XLB was happening. It was pretty big and came with 2 straws, we had so much fun slurping it up. We moved on to the signature magnificent 7 and it really worked out as we each picked a couple that intrigued us. I had the spinach and cheese which was delicious, you could totally taste those flavors, and the garlic, which delivered on garlic flavor. We also had an order of the crispy snowflake dumplings which are covered in flowers and spicy mayo and an order of the veggie fried rice.
It wasn't the best version of any of these, but everything was pretty tasty! I also love the spin they put on everything to make it their own (and maybe a little Instagram-able).
I will say that I wish they took a little time to clean up when it was slower, the floor was a mess, which I understand when it's busy, but is a reflection on their overall cleanliness.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 9, 2024
We spent a few hours riding bikes around Stanley Park. We were hungry and so stopped here for a bite to eat.
We saw a line of people queued up prior to opening earlier today so that was a great sign!
There's a counter where they are making dumplings - reminded me of Din Tai Fung.
We ordered 2 classic xiaolong bao. There were so good - soupy and delicious! They brought one basket out first and when we were done, the second one came out. Lots of fresh ginger in the dipping sauce.
The nice surprise was that we were there at HH! Our beer was only $1.
Highly recommend!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Aug 1, 20241 check-in
Fun colors
Many dish do have pork so that may limit your selection. Food was fresh and a good quality we had a good selection of seafood based dishes.
When you walk in they are making the bao. We were seated quickly and food came out as it was done.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 7, 2024
We came here on a weekday for a late lunch/early dinner. We were drawn here initially by the large soup dumpling that you could get, where you drink the soup with a straw. The straws provided are cool and they give you heart shaped soy sauce dispensers (you just hae to see it!). Yes, it is gimmicky, but the food is really good. the place was also pretty full at this odd time and I was able to take advantage of the happy hour special of one order of soup dumplings and a draft beer for $15.
We tried the mushroom truffle dumplings and the chololate dumplings, which came for dessert. The mushroom was really strong in truffle flavor so only order if you like truffle. The chocolate was unique and took some getting used to, but it was. really rich and a great dessert. I also got the chicken and bean sprout chow mein and was pleasently surprised that the noodles were thin. I recommend this place for your soup dumpling exploits!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 21, 2024
Food: 5/5
Super delicious! Everything was warm and we loved the soup dumplings especially the crab ones. The bbq pork buns are also a must have!! The wontons are good too but the the spice flavor may not apply to everyone since it's more of a "mala" spice! They have a good happy hour deal for beer + soup dumplings!
Service: 3/5
Mixed service! The hostess or server at first was a little snappy. I understand she was stressed but she should have just told me to give her a few minutes to take care of whatever she needed to do and I would've had no issue waiting. However, later on, the server (unsure if it was a different one or not) was extremely sweet and helpful.
Ambiance: 4/5
Cute place! A little small but it makes it feel homey and allows for easier access to the servers if needed.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 29, 20241 check-in
Small restaurant which they have dumplings, dim sum, and some other chinese dishes as well. If you sit closer to the main entrance, sometimes you will see someone makes the dumplings fresh. Their menu has some photos of the popular item so you know how each items look like. They do have other food items on their menu but not pictures. After we order, food do come out fairly reason. All the dumplings are cute and colorful. Anything we got are good.

Everything in here goes well with the hot sauce. I enjoyed all the dumplings here but since we don't eat pork was not able to eat any of the signature bao. Would skip broccoli was soggy and soft

We visited during happy hour with a party of 12. It was busy, so we split into different tables. From the happy hour menu, we ordered soup dumplings, Ha Gao, and Sui Mai. Aside from the happy hour deals, we got crab soup dumplings and Sichuan spicy wontons. The soup dumplings were rich in flavor, but the Ha Gao and Sui Mai were just average. The crab soup dumplings had a delicious broth, though the crab itself was mediocre. The spicy wontons were tasty and quite spicy. The staff were super nice, though the place is a bit small. Overall, I would come back and still recommend this place to others.
