JOEY Shipyards

My girl-friend and I went to Joey's Shipyards for my birthday and we were given a fabulous table outside by the fire-pit with a gorgeous view of the ocean. My friend had advised them via their online booking system that we were celebrating a birthday; however, they didn't acknowledge it at all when the ordered dessert arrived with no candle. She complained and the service recovery was brilliant.

Stephanie, the manager went next door and bought me a lovely candle along with a Joey's custom card wishing me a Happy Birthday. The friendly waitress, Michaela also came with a candle after the fact to make up for forgetting. I appreciated the 'fix' and effort. I live in the Shipyards and appreciate having a Joey's right here to enjoy for celebrations. Thank you!

Overall: stunning views and great service. Food was generally good though slightly spotty.

RECOMMENDED:
+Smores pie dessert. Really good balance of sweet and salty. Smooth filling and creamy marshmallow contrasted with graham cracker crumbs.
+Yam fries with aioli were crispy and flavorful. Paired well with the sauce.

NOT RECOMMENDED:
Sushi + steak + shrimp
-The steak came in a soggy marinade. My entrees were lukewarm temperature wise.
-The butter shrimp lacked any sort of distinct flavor though was well cooked.
-The seared salmon sushi lacked visible (or detectable) sear though had a nice creamy texture and expected flavors.

Taylor took great care of us. She was very attentive to our food and drink needs. She also went above and beyond and asked about if we were visiting and wanted recommendations.

This is a gorgeous location with a wonderful view of the waters. The second level has a more intimate feel to it. The place is quite big with two stories and a patio.

I liked how we were given a glass of bubbles while our table was being prepared. Service was good. The staff was quick to bring over some napkins when my friend knocked my glass of bubbly and it went onto the table and my clothes. I was also given another glass of champers too.

We were here to celebrate our birthdays and it was a really nice place to do that. The food was delicious and we left satisfied.

I had the steak and ravioli Bianco and it was so good. The steak was grilled a perfect medium rare. The truffle beurre blanc sauce for the ravioli was flavorful and creamy but not too heavy.

My friends loved their dishes and the chocolate lava cake too. Such a classic dessert.

I will be back to try other dishes.

The downside is parking. Paid parking is about $5-6/hour in the building. Transit may be easier as it is beside the seabus and bus terminals.

Best restaurant in Vancouver! Well, at least the best one I ate at during a recent visit north of the border. I found this place randomly and I sure am glad I did.

I walked in at an off time with no reservations. There was only a few minute wait which was great. What was even better was being offered champagne while waiting. I was like wow, this is nice and so bougie. It's not everyday i find myself in a restaurant that starts me off with the bubbles.

Everything I ordered was delicious! I mean really delicious, like the chefs either really know what they are doing or they are actually using some magical wizard sorcery to make everything so tasty. Service was good and the view out towards the water was nice. I noticed they had a happy hour, but unfortunately I missed it this time. If you are in the area, I highly recommend this establishment!

Speedy and efficient service. Beautiful views and music. A vibe for sure for a solo trip, date, company event, celebration, anything really!

Food tastes fresh and did not lack in flavor. I was surprised with the sangria because it wasn't too sweet and still had a nice burn to it from the alcohol. Save to say I took advantage of the HH menu

Just WOW! View, food, appies service and company were ALL TOP NOTCH! Visiting BC Canada and this stop was a highlight to trip. Shared mini steak French dip appie and the who tables agreed top notch! I hade the fish tacos they were very tasty!

Very nice day outside so I wanted to sit outside but it was full So I sat at the bar (which I'm very happy I did) and got greeted by Mnookmi who was very sweet, knowledgeably, and helpful. She provided amazing service, answered all my questions, and gave me honest recommendations.
Then I saw Ari behind the counter and he gave recommendations of places to go all over BC
And the food was amazing!
10/10 would go back and make sure you find them! Haha
