This is such a cute Thai spot in midtown! The dishes are unique yet still have those authentic Thai flavors. My boyfriend and I wanted to try multiple dishes and enjoyed them all.

The Thai tea and Thai green tea were delicious! Perfect amount of sweetness and the crushed ice was a plus!

The Thai ravioli was the best dish we had. It's almost like a chicken dumpling. The sweet sauce was delicious and the bok choy was cooked to perfection. The Spaghetti Kee Mao was a different dish and my least favorite, but it wasn't horrible. I believe it lacked some flavor, but I love Thai/Lao sausage so I still enjoyed it.

The pork belly in the Ga Prao dish was super crispy! Know this when you order cause I know some people may not be a fan of this. Thankfully I am so I really liked it and reminded me home. Finally, the Egg Wrapped Pad Thai was delicious, the shrimp just needed a little more flavor.

The reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is because the seats were uncomfortable (we had bar seats) and we had to wait awhile for the food. The dishes also weren't as spicy as we would have liked. We had asked for the Ga Prao and Spaghetti Kee Mao to be medium spicy and were told they already were but still needed to ask for their spice rack. The pepper sauces they had were flavorful (sour & fishy) just not spicy.

Overall, everything was delicious and I'd definitely come back to try other dishes. I'll just make sure to ask for Thai spicy next time.

Upon our arrival at Kin Thai Street Eatery in Sacramento, the friendly and hospitable staff greeted us with genuine warmth. They promptly escorted us to a neatly arranged table, setting the stage for a delightful dining experience. The extensive and enticing menu presented us with a lovely dilemma - choosing from the tempting array of dishes was no easy task. However, we eagerly embraced the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the flavors of Thai cuisine.

Indulging our appetites, we decided to start with the rolls, which were a perfect combination of flavors and textures. However, the true highlight of our culinary adventure was the Thai boat soup. Its rich and aromatic broth, brimming with an exquisite medley of spices and ingredients, was a revelation for the taste buds. Each spoonful was a delightful revelation, and I savored every last drop of this utterly delicious creation.
The food and service were incredible. I'm already looking forward to coming back here. This dining experience was truly exceptional!

      1 check-in

We stepped in to Kin Thai after having passed by the location sooooo many times, not realizing it was a restaurant. . . From the street, it's kind of hidden, so know where you are going.
Inside is wide open with lots of tables. When we arrived on a Sunday evening, we were told at the door they don't have tables available, but we could sit at the window counter. HMMM lot's of open tables though... The tables themselves are made of heavy wood and the seating is wrought iron with heavy wood (and hard) seats. Definitely NOT designed for anyone to linger after dinner. Kin Thai still uses the QR code system for placing your orders. But, they do have physical menus if you ask. Personally, I am so over the QR code menu system.
      For dinner, we had:
      Eggplant salad - very good
      Chicken satay - pretty standard
Massaman curry beef - Excellent (ask for spicy and you won't be disappointed)

The price and the amount of food delivered was plenty for two people.
In the time we were there, the place quickly filled up, they all dined, and all left by the time we were finished with our meals. . . not that WE were lingering, but it just seems like this is how the patrons eat here. FAST...

Food 5/5. Get the Khao Soi, it's so good and you get a lot of chicken for the portion! Such good depth of flavor and so comforting.

Service 2/5. SOOOO slow on the night we went. It was fairly busy but it took forever to have someone take our order and then for our food to come out. We were sitting there for two hours when we just wanted a quick casual meal out. It might have been an off night, I don't know.

Overall 3.5/5, would be a 5 with more attentive service!!

Food: Love everything but the Pas Thai. It tasted very plain. The plating is very beautiful!

Service/Ambiance: The service was friendly and was doing a good job for being the only one on the floor at semi-busy time! I WILL SAY THE AC AND FAN WAS BLASTED tho to be fair it was 100 degrees outside lol

Came here for the first time for a weekend late lunch. Upon entry a server told us to choose which ever open seating. There was a QR code on the table which we assumed was for the menu. Ordered their Pad Thai, good but not memorable. Thai turnip cake had good flavor but the cakes were soggy and wet, not crispy as described on the menu. Khao soi was what we really came to try! The curry broth was rich and flavorful and the chicken was fall off the bone tender, but the egg noodles were overcooked and too soft, to the point where they clumped together and broke when trying to pick up. Unfortunately, our server never came to check in on us during lunch and never refilled our drinks.

Overall ambiance is good but food and service is just ok. There are better Thai restaurants in the Sacramento area worth trying instead.

One of my favorite Thai restaurants in Sac! Located in Midtown and parking can be difficult, but there is some street parking about a block away from the restaurant. The workers are very friendly and were quick to bring our food out.

      Items ordered:
      - Khao Soi with slow braised chicken ($17): I love the creamy and sweet flavor of this dish! The portion fills you up quickly and the soup is rich and full of a curry-like flavor. The chicken was very tender and comes as 2 large bones. A great dish for a cold or rainy day!
-Tom yum soup with chicken ($7): The soup comes in a small bowl so it's meant as a single serving. I wish it came as a bigger size so I could share with others. The soup was sour and tangy and came with many mushrooms which I liked. Not super spicy too.

I have also tried the Massaman Curry before which is one of their signature dishes and the flavor was immaculate. Definitely recommend Kin Thai for their amazing food!

Decided to try this place out after reading others reviews. The food is outstanding. Super fresh and tasty. The service is quick and friendly. The ambiance is cool and fun. The tables are large and spaced out well to accommodate a stroller. Ate here without the kids but noted a family that brought in a stroller and little one. We will be coming back so many foods we want to try. My tweens would love this spot. I plan on burning them back next time I go. Eat here you will be happy you did. 1 note - parking is crazy and you have to be patient to park to get there but it is worth the wait. Great food!

Solid food but very disappointed by the rotten mangos I was served for the mango sticky rice.

I came here for lunch and got several items. It seemed very cozy with lots of seating. The server was patient and helpful in picking items off their extensive menu. My favorite was definitely the pad thai that was egg wrapped. We also got other items like the chicken plate. The chicken was very crunchy and it came with lots of small additions which was fun. However, the downfall was the mango sticky rice. They served me rotten mango. I think as a restaurant, if you open a mango and see it is not fresh, you should use a different once instead of serving it. Overall, I think this place has food that you can't find in other thai restaurants but I was pretty disappointed by the lack of care for fresh ingredients.

Celebrated a birthday, it was my first time eating here.
Cute little spot for a quick grub.
Nothing special about the dishes as I've tasted a lot better Thai dishes elsewhere within the downtown Sacramento area.
