Felt the place was safer than a dark garage and better than street parking. Of course left nothing in the car and thankfully was not bothered. Rather pay for all day parking than risk a ticket as I did not know how long I was staying.

DO NOT PARK HERE. Both of our cars were broken into in broad daylight. I'm convinced someone camps there and tips off people to rob the cars when they see tourists pull in. 6 cars in total were broken into and when someone tried to intervene the robbers flashed guns at them. They knew exactly what they were doing. Locals came up to us and told us it happens in this lot CONSTANTLY. DO NOT PARK HERE.

Great location. Good price. Well lit. Contactless pay is available. There was an attendant on site. The reason for 2 Stars is based on the attendant is not on the premises after dark. My vehicle was broken into. I was a victim of a smash and grab. Unfortunately I just flew in to SF and left my backpack that contained ALL my important documents. Yeah lesson e

Decent location. Smaller lot and the one corner you are fenced in so you have to walk around to get out of the lot to get to the pier

I think I found a gem in the city. $15 FLAT rate, ALL DAY, any day, even on the weekends...a parking lot. Is this a steal or what? This is the perfect spot to park if you are spending the day at the Ferry Building, The Embarcadero or Fisherman's wharf. This is an open lot though, no cover.

The parking attendants are really helpful and nice. I might even say magical. You have to pay via a machine and if you look remotely confused, they magically appear out of thin air and help you. I swear, never saw him when I drove in. You pay via machine with either credit card or EXACT cash only, no change given.

Remember to put your parking receipt on your dash. Park, lock, pay and enjoy your day in the city!

Misleading sign. $25 weekend parking flat rate, as of date of this tip. Not $15 on weekends.

They leave the $15 signs in front of the lot even on weekends, which is deceptive. The parking spaces are limited to the yellow lined spaces, which are very narrow for the average mid-size sedan. The white lined spaces are off-limits. Most of the drivers don't discover this until after having parked and walked toward the pay-machine to see this detail.

Then, when you move your car to the yellow lined space and walk back to the machine, you stand in line only to find out that the cost is $25 for weekend parking, not $15 as advertised.

This lot is in a GREAT spot if you're going to Pier 39 or Fisherman's Wharf. It's a pretty long walk if you're going to Ghiradelli Square.

It's a little confusing.....it's an open air lot....really about half of the parking lot for a union building. There's an electronic 'Pay Here' kiosk, but there was an attendant there yesterday (a summer Sunday) Park your car in a spot designated by YELLOW lines; the white lines are for the union members. Put your receipt on the dash.

Sorry to say it's $20, not $15 any more, but it IS a fixed rate.

Only one gripe.....the lot is fenced off on the north and west so you can't reach the street or sidewalk that leads most directly to Fisherman's Wharf . You have to walk AWAY from FW back to Northpoint Street to get out of the fenced lot. (This is not a problem if you're going to Pier 39)

Maybe due to the America's Cup races, this lot charged $35 when we arrived at 1:00pm, Aug. 24 2013. Parking right on the Wharf (if available) was $33.

Parked here yesterday to visit with my family who was staying at the hotel across the street. The fee of $30 seemed high; however, willing to pay it since the permit was valid until 11:59 p.m. We were approached by a lot attendant at approximately 5:30 p.m., who rudely told us it was $30 to park there; and when we showed him our receipt for parking; he became belligerent implying we cannot leave the lot and re-park without paying him the $30 to park again. NO WHERE IN THE SIGN POSTS DOES IT STATE YOU CANNOT LEAVE THE LOT AND RE-ENTER TO PARK! The receipt clearly indicates the permit is valid until 11:59 p.m. on the date issued. After we parked, and I read the receipt/permit top to bottom, front to back, then went to read the signs posted by the receipt/ticket machine (which I photographed), I felt confident that we had not broken any rules or laws. When we returned to our car at approximately 10:30 p.m., there was an "Enforcement Fee Notice" on our windshield, and the violations marked are "No Permit" (we clearly had one); "Expired Permit" (our permit didn't expire until 11:59 p.m. that day [Aug. 19, 2014]); "Failure to Pay" (obviously our receipt/permit indicates that we paid $30 at 12:25 p.m.) and lastly "Expired Ticket" (again, our permit/receipt did not expire until 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 19th.) I have called City Park, and left a voice mail message - no return call yet. I have also called San Francisco Tax Collector Office and left a voice mail message. Still waiting to hear back; but doubtful I will. I imagine most tourists would just pay this extortion fee; however, I will FIGHT THIS ALL THE WAY!!! BEWARE when you park anywhere with CITY PARK!!!!!!!!!
