Definitely an older Macy's. It's big. About 7 or 8 floors. And conveniently located close to the attractions & shopping, as well as the monorail that takes you to the Space Needle. Didn't purchase anything just moseyed around.

Going out of business. This is Seattle's flagship Macy's store. It is going to be closed by end of February 2020 if not sooner.

This is not a safe neighborhood at all. I like Macy's and use to do a lot of shopping with them. What's available in the stores seems to be nothing I am interested and buying from them online only is the way things have been going for me for some time. I haven't bought anything from there at all for over a year or longer.

This, Seattle's flagship Macy's store, will be closing permanently in just a couple of short weeks. And it makes me sad, very sad, because this store isn't "just" a Macy's - it's a relic of my childhood and that of many Seattle-raised kids.

Formerly The Bon Marche, my memories of this building go back to when the entire structure was just one HUGE department store. The kitchen section, for example, took up an entire level. Another level was occupied by furnishings, and there were multiple levels devoted to all things clothing. At Christmas, the whole store would be decorated and -somewhere up all those escalators - Santa was waiting for a visit.

For as long as I can remember, a visit to the downtown Macy's was an annual Christmas tradition - one I carried forward when I had children of my own. We enjoyed going downtown and looking at the (recently-restored giant star that signaled the official start of the holiday season). We gawked at the train display. And we wandered the Macy's aisles looking at all the beautiful decorations.

Even though the store shrunk over the years, it still felt magical and huge and important. Even products that could be purchased at any other Macy's location felt more special because they were purchased at this one. I'll miss the tradition of the annual downtown Seattle visit and strolling through Macy's. But I guess the time has come for a new chapter for this old building - rumor has it Amazon is moving in. Let's just hope they keep the star (and the train) for future generations of downtown holiday shoppers.

Never been so disappointed in shopping like today. I went to purchased some nice gift for my husband. And lady offered me a help when I was looking gift set for men from Clinique. I said yes I need something good for my husband. Ended up picking 3 product plus something from Armani that I needed. Purchased total on $140 and didn't got gift wrapping or discount or gift - NOTHING. Didn't got any samples or testers???!!! I always buy in Macy's and Nordstrom for $200-400 and get so many gifts or samples
I think this is her job to keep customer happy and willing return back. I should not ask by myself for gifts or samples.
PS went on Clinique website they have 10!!!! piece gift set with purchase $75+. I feel so ripped off and I'll never go to buy there. No discounts no samples no gifts for purchasing total of $140. Really disappointed

Bad customer service at estelauder deparment ! 2 sale womens there chatting without care if I want to buy any things or not. I met the black one her name kate last time, too and the same bad treat.
Today I have a girl from an other deparment help and I bought a balm cleanser. However, she gave me an opened box one, that is old or expired and someone already touch it. I did not know until I brought home and see. It really waste my time. I will have to bring it back to them. I am rather to buy my estelauder cosmetic at nordstrom with a much better customer service. I use estelauder for along time and be macy customer for a long time, but will be no more, especially at the cosmetic deparment.

FRANGOs!!! The website won't let me ship to Alaska.
But when I visited the Macy's Candy Shoppe they where happy to ship boxes immediately. The attendant even assured me he would drop them in the mail on his lunch break.
Now if only they would call the cops rather than store security to remove the junky from the men's room.

Not the best Macy's I've been to, it seemed quite empty, lacking customers and staff.

Sales are good, but their one day sale is getting old. Maybe rename it EVERYDAY Sale.

Lots of great places to shop in Seattle, check it out if your a Macy's fan but there is nothing special about this dept store.

This Macy's Seattle location was a landmark building. It was recently bought... And I was Google Notified yesterday. It can't be true. That was one of my favorite places in Seattle. I lived right there, but still... I have memories with friends that shopped there, people worked there, my family that visited and just me shopping or being nosey. I loved their little corner cafe too... Macy's Seattle was so loved.

I just called to confirm the story.

      Sadly, it's a fact.

Macy's Seattle on Pine & 3rd planned an official store closing on February 28th 2020.

I recently visited this location and was very disappointed in what I saw. I can't really say anything positive about it.

It felt like a ghost town walking in as like no one was there and this was on a saturday. The store was a mess and everything was disorganized. The second floor is under construction. When you ask where to go, the associated don't seem to care to want to help you.

The store is also very old and not very clean. It definitely needs a more modern uodate/revamp in all areas of the store.

I was highly disappointed in this location and their selection was AWFUL. They did not have hardly any clothes or anything. Macy's should be ashamed that this location is even still open.

Anywho, save your time, and hit up another store. If you can, go to a different Macy's in the area, as this store is definitely NOT IT!

While the historical qualities of this building are incredible, the actual inside of this Macy's is so dead most of time, it's almost scary. Like, it seems almost post-apocalyptic sometimes. Haha. Last time I went in I almost thought we were in a closed area we weren't supposed to be in.

Anyways, if I'm not mistaken, I believe the mens section is downstairs and that section looks a lot more like your typical Macy's. And while it's still a little empty in there, you'll find people to help you for the most part.

My fiance and I went here a while ago to get him some new Levi's and it seemed like they were mostly out of his size. When we ask a staff member to help, so was gone in the back for so long I thought she forgot about us, haha.

Overall, I left wondering how this Macy's downtown location stays in business. And that's not because I want them to close. Actually, I love all the decor they put up for the holidays and I hope they stick around... I just don't know how.

Typical Macy's. Well stocked with helpful staff. I needed light outfits and they had a huge variety of styles.

After trying on bunch of things, I decided on 3 items which worked out perfectly!

When in the area, I'll be back for sure!!
