The silver lining of our only 5 year old Maytag top of the line dryer needing to be repaired because a pulley seized up is that we got to meet Sergey, our new go-to for all appliance repairs!
I submitted a request via Yelp Thursday afternoon, he responded in minutes, booked an appointment the next afternoon. Got timely text messages for confirmation and Sergey arrived on time. Diagnosed in a few minutes, offered 2 options; one to repair failed pulley and clean out what he could reach, or 2 disassemble dryer box and clean and lubricate other moving parts. I opted for option 2 and Sergey diligently went about his work until it was all repaired and sparkly clean again, almost like new!
Sergey also reminded us to get our dryer vent flue cleaned out so we don't become one of the house fire tragedies you here about!

I haven't used Magnet Appliance Repair but inquired about a repair for my LG refrigerator that failed to cool. I sent the inquiry to them and a few other local shops informing them I purchased the unit a few years ago.

Magnet were the only ones to kindly inform me that LG has a little known 5-year extended warranty that covers condenser issues. That kind of honesty when there's nothing in it for them is rare. That in and of itself makes it an easy decision for me to call Magnet for all appliance repair needs in the future.

Sergey arrived as scheduled, with notice when he was en route. He did full diagnostics on our refrigerator and described in detail the results and his thoughts. He also cleaned to compressor. Professional work at a fair price.

Sergey was amazing. He was very meticulous and systematic in diagnosing the problem. Initially we had another company come out and their quote was 6000 saying we had to replace 4 circuit boards and the compressor which makes no sense that 5 parts all failed in unison... Sergey replaced the main board cleaned the coils and found a malfunctioning second board.. all fixed for around 1k. I will definitely use magnet I. The future. Thank you so much

Sergey was so professional and helpful, gave an honest recommendation on how to fix our malfunctioning and older built-in fridge and several options based on what our future plans were. I trusted his assessment that we had a freon leak and could short term refill but that long term we should either replace the closed system or consider a fridge replacement. Really appreciated his expertise!

Very easy to work with this company. They are very transparent for what the quote covers and respond quickly to texts and messages. The technician, Sergey, had to deal with a few obstacles from some of the DIY kitchen projects from one of the previous owners. He came up with great workarounds to get the job done.

They asked a lot of questions and asked for pictures so that they be ready with the necessary parts to fix the fan at the back of our double oven.

They were the only ones that bothered to ask what they could to give a proper quote. Other companies wanted to come out first to provide a quote even for a common prob typical with the brand of oven we have. Obviously the quote could have changed if Sergey found a different issue after seeing the oven and diagnosing, but the fact that they wanted to be as efficient as possible ahead of the visit was puts them over the top.

Sergey arrived on time and explained diagnostic fee and how it could be applied to repair cost. He settled on two potential causes for the issue with our dryer. I accepted his leading cause that the motor was shot versus something jammed. As he was getting to the motor to determine replacement cost he decided to check for a jam and found it. He cleared the jam and I paid an extra $40 for him to vacuum beneath the dryer (I figured $40 spent was better than the aches and pains I'd have later). We settled payment and he left only to come knocking at the door saying there was something else he wanted to check. Sure enough that area had a bunch of junk in it. He easily could have easily decided not to return. The fact that he did and didn't ask for more $$ is a major reason I would not hesitate to call him for any future appliance issues.

tl;dr - 5 Stars Well Deserved

During the weekend, our LG washer machine stopped draining. I got the dreaded OE warning.

Thinking it was a simple fix, I pulled out that black rubber tube thing and drained the water but not much came out. Then I pulled out the filter thing that looks like a plastic hair curler and then whoosh, a torrent of water came out and flooded my laundry room. Let's just say I yelped a four letter F-word multiple times.

Multiple towels later, I tried YouTube to fix the problem but nope, more water just filled the tub of the machine. So I decided to turn to the pros. I looked up appliance repair and Sergey with Magnet Appliance Repair popped up with raving reviews.

My tip on searching Yelp reviews is to always sort by Elites. This will filter out all the bots and BS. To my surprise, Yelp Elites had given 5 stars!

So, even though it was the weekend and he was closed, I thought, I will message via the Yelp app and maybe on Monday we will schedule something because nobody likes going to the Laundromat.

Well Sergey knows how to use his smart phone because almost within the hour he responded. We set up a time for Wednesday (September 21st), which is the day I am writing this review and he said he would be by between 10 AM and 12 PM.

He called 20 minutes before arriving and came with booties of course. He was able to find out the problem with my laundry machine. It sounded like the drain pump had an issue. Instead of automatically saying to replace the pump, he did a drain clean and found that something had gotten clogged inside the pump.

He took apart the washer and got to the filter and found the culprit. It was my wife's reusable makeup pad. AAAARGHHHH!!! He was able to remove the pad and checked several times to make sure the water was draining.

Sergey also checked my LG refrigerator because the ice machine had stopped working. He provided an estimate but we rarely use the machine since the Tri-Valley has hard ass water and we just buy the ice from Costco. But if ever decide to fix it, the diagnostic fee would apply to the future repair. He suggested that since my fridge is less than 2 years to call LG first.

At the end of the day, Sergey was punctual, communicative, and efficient. I told him as he was leaving that I hoped to never seen him again. But if I ever do see him again, it will mean that something else f*cking broke and that Sergey would be fixing it.

* Expensive lesson learned, I will be checking Amazon immediately for washing machine mesh wash bags.

Give him 5 stars and recommend him for your appliance needs and repair. My Whirlpool front load drier needed a new pulley installed as the drum was not spinning properly and making a horrible sound. Sergey owner operator of the company came in took a review of the issue and showed me the issue. He quickly repaired the device and clean the inside of the appliance. I was up and running in about an hour.
