Established in 2017. Mr. Sushi provides high quality sushi and Japanese hot foods. We started our business in the heart of Lynn Valley, North Vancouver in the early 90's as the first sushi restaurant in town. With over 20 years of experience serving local residents, Mr. Sushi has become the neighbourhood favourite Sushi restaurant. We are excited to open a second Mr. Sushi in Lower Lonsdale, North Vancouver, a historic, up-and-coming urban neighbourhood on the Northern banks of the Vancouver harbour. Our mission remains the same - to provide the best sushi in town using the freshest ingredients. Always with a smile, we strive to satisfy your appetite for sushi with delicious foods and speedy services.

My husband and I stopped here for a late lunch. We were seated right away, and our rolls came out quickly. Our favorite was Mikes Roll, but everything was fantastic!
The service here was great and we hope to eat here again the next time we are in the area.

I ordered to go bento box of Chicken cutlet which includes California rolls, tempura, salad and miso soup.
I was glad to find a option non-teriyaki version in bento and surprisingly they have lots of variety of food in the box. Beside of salad (dressing aside), there was a stir fried vegetable under the cutlet. Tempura dipping sauce tasted original because too much mirin though. Chicken cutlet was very thin almost like a ham. The cutlet batter and chicken were almost same volume.
I had enjoyed varieties in the box but quality wise, it was not great. Especially the main dish in the box was supposed to be chicken cutlet... :(

We also ordered bento boxes and it was fair pricing with a good variety of food.
Service was phenomenal. Really appreciated them accommodating our large group of kids. They were super thoughtful and to supply us with napkins without us asking.
Ambience was casual and clean. The bathroom was kept pretty clean and the staff were efficient.
Would definitely come back.
Parking is a bit tough but hey you are in Vancouver

The food didn't taste fresh at all and so overpriced compared to other sushi places not worth the money at all

Very bad, the worst sushi I have ever had. Not good at all. The fish was not fresh and the service was also not great. The rolls were not specifically rolls at all. They were very generic rolls. Like being a tourist from CA I would expect some good Sushi and not simple rolls I can buy from Ralphs.

212773Jul 2, 2023This is my must do, crave worthy spot. The nigiri is spot on, the sashimi is incredible, the rolls are delicious, the tempura is light and crispy, the drinks are affordable, it's just a slam dunk.

2388943958Nov 12, 2022Updated reviewGot one of their special rolls - Snow White Roll - to go and it was great! A generous amount of chopped scallop on a california roll base. The best part of the roll was the aburi as it gave the roll a nice smoky flavour. The sauce on top was a little bit heavy handed but did not detract from the taste.

The place itself is modern and very clean, food is delicious and they give you a good rice to filling ratio in their rolls but the prices are higher than vancouver korean-run sushi averages. We tried their beef teriyaki lunch box which had slices (rather than shreds) of beef in a not too sweet sauce, california roll (all good), tempura (crispy and tasty) and spring rolls. We also got a volcano roll which came with some fire (fancy but eh). The roll had a prawn tempura and california roll base topped with spicy tuna and spicy sauces. I liked how the spicy tuna was flavourful without too much sauce and that each roll was tightly packed. This again was expensive but no complaints on the flavour! Next, we ordered their aburi sashimi don which we dont usually see at other places. The visual presentation was lacklustre but their thick slices of soft and tender aburi-ed sashimi helped us to really enjoy this dish! Their fish was all fresh and this bowl included scallop, hamachi, toro, tuna, salmon and ebi. The sauce came on the side (I was very happy about this) but was delicious when added to the mix of fish, some greens and rice. Finally, we got their Mr Lonsdale Tower which was crab meat, sashimi, avocado and sprouts all in a nice tower with some balsamic drizzle surrounding. This was quite tasty and a good appetizer!
Overall, the food here is quite good but their prices are on the higher end.

Food is fresh, great portions, nicely presented, price is reasonable and they even deliver green tea if you ask for it. We always order salmon and tuna sashimi, dynamite roll with no yam (huge and so fresh), salmon belly nigiri, and chicken kaarage (crispy outside and juicy inside, great portion, ask for extra lemon)
We are moving soon.....they are the only reason why we are sad to go :)
