The Yelp Discount is fantastic.

I was told my movers would show up between 8am and 11am, they gave me a call at 7:30am and told me they were on their way and they arrived by 7:45am. Fantastic. The three men who helped me move did all the necessary work swiftly and carefully. They were also extremely friendly to talk to.

NorthStar also checked in at every step of the process to make sure the move went smoothly. It is easy to find a moving company in SF - tough to find a good one. This is a good one.

The only downside for me personally was that I live alone and having 3 movers may have been excessive for me (they have a minimum of 3 movers help you). The cost, however, was still comparable to a smaller moving company with fewer men, so it wasn't like I had to pay for frivolous services.

**Note** have some cash on hand to tip your movers! They won't bring it up at all that you can tip them, but you can and they work hard. I wish I had realized that and had more cash at the ready (downside of an all plastic payment lifestyle).

I'd like to recognize this company for their wonderful work and attention to detail during the moving process.
The team of Isael, Cristobal and Eulalia was efficient and hardworking, very polite and professional.
Scheduling and organizing part was easy.

First, overall, I recommend this company. I used NorthStar to move from one state to another, and they came through for me. I really only had one complaint.

The many things that were positive: Everyone I spoke with at their office via email or phone was perfectly professional, prompt to respond, helpful with questions, and clear and thorough in giving information. The movers who came to load up my stuff seemed to take great care and worked quickly. They also went the extra mile to pack up some things more securely than I had packed them, which I really appreciated. Likewise, the movers who arrived at my new residence were careful with unloading and made sure I had every item on my checklist. (By the way, the checklist itself is a reassuring feature.) Anyway, all the Northstar personnel I had contact with impressed me.

My one complaint: Some of my stuff was damaged. Yelp isn't uploading my pics of the damage for some reason. It's mostly small things, anyway. A chest of drawers was very noticeably chipped in two places on the top which bummed me out. Another item - a white Grecian-style pedestal - had two large chunks knocked out of it and unfortunately it was beyond repair and had to be trashed. And several of my moving boxes were damaged to the point of being unusable, and in my opinion, this damage was beyond what is reasonable. I still needed those for storage, including a wardrobe box which was sort of expensive. My theory is that damage occurred during transport because of the way the items were handled/arranged or perhaps when being transferred from one truck to another. But just to reiterate, all the movers I personally witnessed were conscientious and careful. I chose the free insurance to keep the cost down, but honestly, even if I had paid for better insurance, none of it is worth filing a claim. I just wish a little more care had been taken with my items from beginning to end, that's all.

Good company, though. To the people at NorthStar - sincerely, thank you. You made a challenging move much easier on me.

**UPDATE: After I posted this review, a representative from NorthStar called me to express their appreciation and also to offer me a little money back in regard to my handful of damaged items. Very cool. Top notch, conscientious people over there at NorthStar!

Avner and his team made my move seamless and stress free. Communication was prompt, clear and without hassle. The morning of my move I realized the previous tenant had left some furniture that I wanted to get rid of. After trying to research which companies could come and move the junk out the same day as my move I reached out to Avner who said his team could take care of it no problem. What a relief!!! The guys were quick, efficient and respectful to my needs. I would definitely recommend NorthStar to any of my friends looking for movers.

Had a great experience moving a couch + ottoman with NorthStar! Katherine was very responsive and the quote was very reasonable for the item. It was very easy to schedule with them for a next day move. Our moving team, Edgar and Ruben, were great as well! Very friendly and communicative, and we were very impressed with how careful they were with wrapping the couch and navigating it through the hallways.

I used this company when I left there a year ago I moved from Indianapolis to Denver Colorado the man stole my TV and the reason why he did he got mad because I called his company he didn't want to move my bed charge me another $400 just to move my bed stole my keys put them in a box like I said he stole the TV took Parts off of my bed kicked in my hydraulic bed which cost me three grand and they won't pay for nothing do not use this company because if he gets mad at you he will screw you I had to wait for the next day to leave because he had took my keys and put them in a box that was in the truck but it was the first box they moved that was the worst move in my life I know this is a man because he just had a baby his baby should be about a year and a half maybe a year old he did me dirty run do not use this company he is an awful man and I did nothing to him except ask him to move my bed and he said no so I called the company up and he got mad he tried to act like he wasn't the owner he was a worker he's the owner do not trust this man

We worked with Felipe, Jorge, and Juan to move our two bedroom apartment one hour away. They were PROMPT, showing up at the exact start of our window. They were so quick and efficient, moving things quickly and with the utmost care to our things. They were accommodating and helpful, having no problem with the questions we asked and using our furniture pads as suggested and working with us on which items would need pads and which did not. They were also able to efficiently pack all of our items when we were worried it wasn't going to fit. This was such a smooth moving process and Northstar will have our business moving forward.

We recently moved an elderly relative from San Francisco to San Diego and NorthStar Moving was fantastic. We needed full service so added packing and additional insurance. Our key contact John was fantastic, responsive, and thorough. The packing team came one time (early even!) and was efficient, detailed and thorough. When the items arrived at the new home, the unpacking and load in went smoothly. We really appreciate the quality and professionalism of NorthStar moving. I would highly recommend them for a statewide move or a local move.

Outstanding moving company, highly recommended! I've used NorthStar for two moves and both times were exceptional - first a local move within the Bay Area, and then a longer move from the Bay Area to Orange County.

For our 2nd move with NorthStar, big shout-out and thank you to John, the driver and team leader at both our pick-up and delivery locations. I was impressed by his professionalism, diligence, and attentiveness in treating our move as if it were his own. Him and his team made sure all our belongings and furniture were packed efficiently and securely. Delivery was super quick and took only two days. Everything arrived in excellent condition with no breakages or scratches.

We moved from San Francisco to Oakland 3 weeks ago and use NorthStart. Our team (Carlos, Eujenio, and Roberto) were AMAZING. The process from the quote to the packing and the move were perfect. They were so fast and efficient, and they had to go up 3 flights of stairs with all of our stuff. Everything was in perfect condition after the move. Finally, when they moved our couch in Carlos showed us that we were missing the center leg (from a previous move), helping us to solve a mystery we had about the couch sagging.
