Nubo Japanese Tapas

Regrettably, I have to say it feels like the priority and focus for the serving staff ,is all the uber eat deliveries going out and less about the dining clientele eating in. I have had a dinner and lunch there in the past month. Both times ,the service feels distracted and stressed. And it feels like
" my"being there ,is an intrusion to whatever they feel they would rather be doing. This is a real shame because the food is absolutely delicious and easily top 5 quality sushi restaurants in Victoria. Despite the delicious food I wont go back in person .I will just order the delivery. This was the Pandora restaurant. 5 stars for food ...1 for service

Everything here was so incredible! The staff and chefs are all so friendly and helpful! All the dishes tasted amazing & so fresh.

All the sushi rolls were some of the best I've ever had. The curry udon was probably the best curry udon I've ever eaten.

The drinks were so pretty and yummy.

I absolutely loved it here and cannot wait to visit whenever I'm in Victoria again :)

This super chill sushi bar is a very nice place to have a comfortable time and eat some fantastic sushi rolls plus other small bites.

My trio visited late on a Friday and enjoyed a great variety of options from the impressively deep menu. The freshness of the fish restaurants in this area is known to serve is exceptionally highlighted in Nubo's sushi and sashimi. The sushi is made right in front of you at the bar, with the backdrop of a wide selection of beverages including harder to find Japanese whiskies from brands like Suntory.

With both bar and table seating available, you can come alone or with friends. The atmosphere is only enhanced with the courtesy provided by all of the servers and chefs.

Although the sound of Japanese Tapas may not seem familiar to the ear initially, this sushi spot will definitely be one that I'll come back to on another visit to Victoria.

I ordered the Seafood Takarashi, I tend to like things spicy, but this dish was over the top too spicy. I couldn't eat it and the server knew, after asking me a few times. She told me to order rice.

Be careful of this one dish.

Love the wide variety of options! Including vegan mayo. The service was great. We went around 2pm so we were the only ones. My fav was the body & soul roll. There was 20% gratuity for 5+ ppl.

Came here for dinner and there was no wait. I kind of wanted to try it for lunch so maybe I'll go back and try it again. Got the lucky strike roll and the sanuki udon. The lucky strike roll was decent but didn't really stand out and the sanuki udon was good but also didn't really stand out. I think I want to try their non sushi offerings next time and see if they are more special.

Attentive, friendly service and clean. Loved the Kung Pao cauliflower. Delicate presentation.

We only had 24 hours in Victoria and this place came highly recommended by a friend who was there the month prior.
We love Japanese food so that was all we needed to give it a shot.
Hands down the best meal of our trip.
Unique and interesting menu items. Everything was prepared to perfection and full of amazing flavor. Staff was kind, attentive and knowledgeable.
Wish we could have gone back a second time!

I would go back here again just for the udon. The place was a nice place and there's other good things to try on their menu.

Nubo Japanese Tapas is excellent! We didn't have a reservation. However, the host greeted us and had a table for us which was very much appreciated, considering it was around supper time. Our server was lovely and provided excellent service. Great ambiance. The food's where it's at. We got a miso soup, the tofu teriyaki bowl, ebi al ajillo with bao buns and the kaisen donburi. All of the dishes were delicious and of great value. I've also heard that their lunch menu is amazing and I shall check it out next time. Highly recommend!
