      Delighted with my first experience buying a car at Oakland Kia. My wife and I walked in on a Saturday morning exploring the possibility of leasing a Kia EV6. The Sales Manager Mo Zaher was a pleasure to work with.

      Mo had several 2023 EV6-GTs that he was offering at similar prices to upscale 2024 models which do not compare to the GT. Anyway Mo set us up with, I think, a fair deal for a 15k/yr lease and we knew where we stood on Saturday. We agreed I would return on Sunday morning.

      On Sunday, sure enough my red GT was ready in the showroom. Mo and I finalized details of the lease and signed the deal. With the Fed tax credit and some stuff Mo threw in it was affordable. I didn't think I would be leaving with the GT model which has been my dream car for a while.

      That wasn't the end! Dante then took over from Mo and went to a lot trouble explaining the car operation to me. Also setting up the Kia app on my phone and so on. Also he mentioned that If I ever needed help with anything to just return and ask. He also offered to put on the permanent plates when they arrive.

      I see lots of negative reviews here on Yelp but I'm afraid I can't join in. A very plesaurable and positive car buying experience. Mo and Dante are great.

      My experience at this Oakland Kia is very disappointing. The sales person who had previously promised to give me an additional cargo cover before I purchased the car baled on her promise. When I came to test drive the car, I was left in the hot car for an hour while the sales person went to run her errands. The new Kia Sportage hybrid that I bought has already had 21 miles on it when it supposedly to be brand new. When I contacted them again regarding a blemish on passenger door vinyl, they furiously put the blame all on me. The manager yelled at me on the phone and refused to take any responsibilities. On a side note, When I was sitting in their parking lot waiting for my car to be washed, I saw a psychotic woman rammed her old car into several new cars on the parking lot and left. They didn't even go after her. If you want to be treated respectfully and have a nice car buying experience, please take your business elsewhere. I certainly would.

      Regrettably, my encounter with Oakland Kia has proven to be a disheartening affair. I was disconcerted to discover that I had been levied with charges for an optional LoJack, entirely devoid of any prior consultation or consent. This lack of transparency, a disservice to customers seeking autonomy in their purchasing decisions, was deeply dismaying.

      Adding to my vexation, an unresolved matter persists in the form of a payment owed to me for an interminable span nearing three months. The extended delay in remittance has resulted in significant inconvenience and financial strain, despite my persistent efforts to procure a satisfactory resolution. Regrettably, I remain bereft of both a comprehensive explanation and a definitive timeline for the receipt of said payment.

      The values of customer satisfaction and ethical business conduct should be unequivocal priorities for any reputable establishment, yet, alas, my experience with Oakland Kia has gravely fallen short on both counts. It is my ardent hope that this critique serves as a cautionary testament to those contemplating engagement with this dealership, beseeching them to exercise judicious discernment and vigilance.

      May Oakland Kia undertake expeditious measures to rectify these unsettling circumstances and elevate their customer service standards accordingly. Transparent transactions, unwavering integrity, and timely resolutions constitute the pillars of a commendable dealership, and it is my fervent wish that these concerns are promptly addressed, thereby engendering the reinstatement of trust amongst their clientele.

      All in all, my disheartening encounter with Oakland Kia has been marred by unauthorized charges and an agonizingly protracted delay in payment. In light of these deplorable circumstances, it is with great reservation that I withhold my recommendation of their services and earnestly implore [Dealer's Name] to undertake immediate rectification for the welfare of prospective patrons.

      Very impressed by James (sales manager) in every way. (This is Just a preliminary review which I'll update over time.)

      I went today to try out a used EV for the first time.

      I explained I was looking for a used EV, either Kia or another brand, and this was my first time driving/seeing these cars. I also explained I would not be be ready to buy for at least a couple of weeks.

      James was great: no pressure whatsoever, just factual replies to my questions. He clearly understood me and was happy to take me on a quick drive on the freeway.

      I'll certainly prioritize his dealership as a result once I'm ready to move forward.

      Incredibly rude staff; they barely tried to welcome my family. Then they said "we don't do test drives after 5", and tried to force us to come back at another time. Even tho it was 4:50". I've been to both the Dublin and San Leandro Kia dealers and they've been helpful and friendly. I won't be going back here ever.

      I have been going to Concord Kia's Service department for six years and have always had excellent service there. My engine light was on and they said it might be an all day appointment. Since I needed to work that day, I decided to take it to Oakland Kia instead since they are closer to where I work.

      BIG MISTAKE.

      During the so-called multipoint inspection they found several issues. I had them repair everything.

      The next day my tire light turned on and my car was squealing. I immediately contacted Oakland Kia in order to have these items repaired. No one picked up the phone. So, I left a message. I told them that I felt unsafe to drive it with this squealing and I was concerned about the new light that was on.

      Initially, I thought this was an honest mistake, and figured they would call me back to repair the problem. I was mistaken. I left 3 additional voice mails between that day and the next day. I also tried calling without leaving a message dozens of times over the next two days. I had my friend call from her phone. I called the sales department and told them what was going on. The gentleman who answered the phone said he would transfer me and hopefully they would pick up if it was a transferred call. NO ONE EVER PICKED UP THE PHONE and NO ONE EVER RETURNED MY CALL. We called during business hours. So, they were open.

      This whole situation started the process of me finding out that they had really taken advantage of my lack of knowledge about cars. It was over $1,000 and a very expensive lesson.

      Because they would not answer the phone, my friend, who is a mechanic, looked at my car.

      Here is what I found out:

      Oakland Kia changed the cabin air filter. However, my friend told me the hose clamp on the air hose to the air box was very loose. He said dirt could get into the engine from that being loose which would cause a lot of problems with my engine. So, he tightened it up. It took him less than a minute to fix this problem that could have caused major damage to my car.
      I had a nail in one of my tires (according to Oakland Kia). So, they replaced the tire. The tire that was replaced had only 25 pounds of air. While the old tires had the proper amount at 33 pounds, the new tire did not have the correct amount of air in it. So, it caused the TPMS light to come on. My friend filled the tire up properly.

      Also, I found out that the original tire should have been patched, not replaced. So, I overpaid for something I did not need.

      Moreover, I did not know that you need to have the same tires on the front and the mismatched tires on the front axle is not industry standard. So, now I need to go somewhere else to buy new tires so that they match!

      The Serpentine belt was replaced at Oakland Kia and they did not install it properly. It was loose and caused the car to squeal. Once again, my friend showed me the problem and tightened it up. It took him maybe a minute to tighten. He told me if it stayed loose, it would cause problems for MANY aspects of my car.

      Also, Oakland Kia told me they were going to inspect the oil. They did not include that on the list and it turns out that my oil does indeed need to be changed-AND the oil that was there was an inch too high, which apparently is not good for the engine either. They should have caught that.

      My window washer container had maybe an inch left of fluid in it. While this is not going to cause a safety issue with the car, it is very irritating that they did not catch it. My friend filled it up.

      Now I am out the $1,000 and my friend made my car safe (It literally took him maybe 30 minutes total to do the work that Oakland Kia should have done in the first place.

      In essence, Oakland Kia left everything half done. Had it not been caught, my car would potentially have had serious issues in the near future.

      I WILL NEVER RETURN TO OAKLAND KIA. THIS WAS A VERY EXPENSIVE LESSON. THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY APPALLING SERVICE.

      I will be writing this letter to Oakland Kia and to the parent company, and posting it on Yelp, as well.

      Fantastic experience leasing a car here. Exchanged emails with Dante first and Mo helped me with the paperwork when I came in. Everything was clear, concise and exactly as stated in emails. No awkward pressure or upselling of any kind. Never expected to experience such genuinely kind customer service!

      Oakland Kia at 1575 W. Grand was terrific.
      I had a problem with the service that was my fault. I hadn't really understood what I needed.
      Mike, the manager, dealt with my concerns in a kind and helpful manner.
      My car now runs beautifully. Patrick also showed empathy and tried to help resolve the matter.

      February 2023 I purchased a used Porsche from this dealer. It is the worst car purchase experience I ever been through. The entire car purchase experience felt like they try to hustle me from sales team to financial department. Even when they give me the car. The car shows battery needs to be service immediately. I spoke to them and they said they will take care of it then just kept ignoring my calls. I am very disappointed and this is why I am writing this review. Make sure you think twice before you shop here.
