One Big Man and One Big Truck

My partner hired this company for the second time and they did a great job both times. Five years ago, they moved her office and handled everything carefully and efficiently. That lease just expired and she's now working remotely, so we hired them again to move everything to our home. At the same time, we were moving our apartment to another flat in the same building and had them move all our large items. The owner even came over ahead of moving day to get a better idea of the layout and to evaluate the small piano we were moving.

At the office, a three-person crew loaded up a large desk, file cabinet and about 25 boxes in just 40 minutes (including a long hallway and flight of stairs), drove 15 min to our home, and unloaded all of the office stuff into the garage in 20 minutes.

The move to the new flat was a difficult job because it's a 1920 building with small, narrow hallways and difficult corners. The job included several pieces -- including taking a refrigerator, heavy and bulky sofa/sleeper bed and piano from the second to the first floor, then up to the new second floor flat. We were concerned they wouldn't be able to get our big sofa into the new living room, but to our amazement, they made it work! It was really impressive. These guys had years of experience, they were super-helpful, and all of our stuff made it into our new place without even a scratch.

The price was reasonable (and very clearly stated up front), and they did all of it in 3 hours. We wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future.

I've used One Big Man 4 times over the last 6 years and plan to use them again for my next move (which hopefully won't be for a while, definitely tired of moving). When setting up an appointment they are very responsive to inquiries and questions. As for the move itself, they are punctual, efficient and experienced and have had no issues disassembling and reassembling bed frames, pelotons, you name it.

Being able to pay with credit card at the end is also very handy.

They might cost more than some other moving companies, but they're worth it.

I have just finished moving from the Peninsula back to San Francisco. Wolfgang, Paul, Lou, Roberto, and team did an absolutely fantastic job and the service was incredible. They were professional and caring; they followed my instructions and always asked me questions about whether it was being moved to my new home, going to storage or being donated as they packed up my old apartment. They even came over to help me find my medication and diabetic supplies that they packed for me.

One Big Man & One Big Truck is a great moving company. Multiple calls for estimates to other local companies proved to be either extended beyond our timeframe or very expensive. Our small move was taken care of very well and carefully by manager, Wolfgang and move team lead, Roberto. Thank you for being expedient and neat.

I would not recommend this moving service. I came in with high hopes due to the reviews and how knowledgable they were about the street traffic on the street I was on but:

1: The movers wanted a few items I planned to throw away like my couch, chairs, dressers, and lamp. I was initially happy that none of that would go to waste, until I realized that wrapping it up in cloth and bubble wrap and carrying it to the truck, and carrying it out of the truck later when making room to carry my things to my new place -- somehow I'm footing the bill for the time of their labor on all of that.

2: They were really slow overall with their packing. They carried each box one by one to the truck, and later when they brought it to my new place they brought stacks of 5 at once on a wheelie. Why couldn't you have done that both ways?

3: They used Extra bubble wrap to wrap some fragile things and did not warn me there would be an extra charge. They did not ask if I wanted it wrapped

4: They broke my dresser and my TV stand by dropping them, and then had to spend time screwing / supergluing it back on. Tell me why I'm somehow charged for the time fixing what they broke. I felt like they should be compensating me, but they did fix it, I assume (can't touch my dresser for several hours while the superglue dries.

Overall so much slower and more inefficient than companies I've worked with in the past. Why bubble wrap things if you're just going to end up breaking it by dropping it. They spent lots of time reorganizing the truck (there was lots of room by the end), calling their gf about whether they wanted the chairs, and all kind of nonsense honestly. I wanted to help out to make the process faster, and they barely let me and kept trying to take things for me. No - I want you to be faster, not to help me!

And the bill at the end was kinda high for a good move and outlandish for a bad move, which this one was.

I've moved twice with OBM, and they are so so good. Moving can be so stressful, and both times my stress level immediately dropped when OBM arrived. Not only did they move everything perfectly with no damage both times, they just made me feel comfortable! In my second move, they were even able to hoist a heavy sofa bed off the fourth floor of a building to the ground!

This was my first time using movers, and I had such a good experience with One Big Man & One Big Truck! They were a little pricier than some of the other quotes I got, but worth it given what a great job they did. Great communication from the office staff leading up to the move; they went out of their way to make sure all my questions were answered and concerns were addressed. On moving day the crew showed up right on time, and I was totally blown away by how quickly and efficiently they moved everything. These guys worked HARD despite many stairs, some big, unwieldy furniture, and a very hot day. In fact, we actually came in under the estimated total because they worked so fast. The crew was super friendly, respectful of our stuff, and got everything to the new place intact. Thanks OBMOBT for making a stressful move a million times easier!

I have hired OBMOBT 3 times in the past year and I have always been impressed by the service and professionalism. Their staff is cordial and respectful of the property, they are discreet and quiet if need be (we had a baby sleeping when they came in) . They do same house moves (which is why I hired them for)
They have big trucks !!! so plan ahead if they have to park on the street. It's always best not to do it on a street cleaning day :D
They are very responsive and their charges are very clear from the beginning. They charge a base price and then go on 15min increments.

We used them to load PODS container for an out of state move and could not have been happier. The three person crew was prompt, professional, and polite.

I feel the need to point out that they did an AMAZING job packing and securing our boxes, furniture etc. in the POD. When we opened the door of the container at its destination, everything was securely in the exact position it had been when we left. Nothing was damaged or even shifted.

I wish all service experiences are the same as the one I had with this company. From scheduling to checking out. Hired them to move my small hair studio in SF few months back.

A team of two very friendly guys did the job within an hour. They were on time, wrapped everything with care, very efficiently. I had some questions before scheduling and spoke to a very responsive customer service person, who explained the process and sent me an email with check out list and forms. Everything went smoothly and made my moving so much less stressful.

Highly recommend them and will definitely hire them again for my future movings!
