The restaurant is located in a two-story atrium with upper level seating. For travelers, you can leave your bags at the host station while you enjoy your meal.
I was there for breakfast, and there was already a pretty good crowd there, but I was quickly seated upstairs with a little bit of a view of the building across the street and some green hills further out
They have interesting, traditional, breakfast combinations, along with an interesting set of fancy pants toast selections
I went with the mushroom toast which arrived with plenty of mushrooms, along with some hummus to which truffle oil had been added, and Green greens with little bits of colorful flowers in there
I think the mushrooms are enoki mushrooms and they provide a nice toothsomeness. I had it with a one egg side that was scrambled and nicely salted with a couple little sprinklings of some green thing.
The server was friendly and efficientHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 26, 2024
This place reminds me of Hollywood. How?
Glitz & Glam from the outside, but when you look close it's not pretty.
I can't have milk. I ordered the almond milk double shot latte. Yes yes, very pretty, but it just tasted like steamed almond milk. Anyone who likes strong lattes knows the taste of "the kick" of a double. Here? No kick, no taste...just foam with a pretty image that looked like a cactus...I think. I had to get a straight up drip coffee just to get my morning caffeine fix. Oh....and they charged an extra dollar for the almond milk.
So, here's their logic: We're swapping her milk for almond milk...what the hell...let's charge her extra cuz she can't have milk. Moving on.....
On the menu, the Avocado Toast has the option of coming with added bacon for $6. I just didn't know they were two tiny pieces of bacon. $3 per strip. Yup.
Just so you know.
I asked for medium poached, got soft poached, and the egg was tasteless and seemed low grade. The bread was so hard that at one point after my knife nearly gave way.....I thought the bread was gonna frisbee its way to the attorneys' table and canvas itself onto their fancy ties. Luckily it didn't and I just took a break and sipped on my already cold almond milk...double shot wanna-be latte.
So, after we nearly spent 70 bucks for a couple of egg dishes and some coffee...it was time to go.
Once you get past the high ceilings, the fancy tables, the great service and the fancy decor on the plates.....the actual experience of the food, the value and the quality really missed the spot with me. I just felt robbed somehow....the extra charge for everything, the poor quality eggs and the weak coffee you could feed an infant.
Our server SILVIA was wonderful though. Professional, approachable, friendly and very attentive. She's the reason it's not going to be a 1star, but a 2star for Palate Kitchen today.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 8, 2024
Went here for a friends bday and love it! Live the interior and exterior design. We were seated in the upper level overlooking the first floor. It felt very European. We had brunch and the menu was simple with just enough variety. I'm so glad I ordered the Benedict and waffles to share with a friend. Lovely place for weekend brunch.

I came here for breakfast while staying in Vancouver on business. Since I was carrying a travel bag, I felt a little confused when I was led to the second floor. The store staff put my travel bag on the first floor, but I started to worry. There were several customers eating on the second floor. The woman in charge was very polite and made me feel comfortable.I ordered an almond milk latte and mushroom toast for a small meal. After a while, my order was brought out. It looks great, but you have to eat it with a knife and fork. The sourdough was hard and I needed more sharp knife. I couldn't eat very deliciously.
I would like to try something else next time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Jan 14, 2024
Came here for my friend's birthday. I had never heard of this place, so I asked my friend how she found it as she rarely goes downtown. She saw it on someone's feed.
I got the kefta skillet which has Moroccan meatball and 2 poached eggs on top of tomato sauce and olive. The meatball has a nice blend of spices and the sauce compliments it.
The place has two upper levels on each side of the building, which looks down the middle of the place and kitchen. Because it is so open, it can get quite loud in there with everyone talking, the sound bounces/echoes.
The service is great, the food came quickly and our waitress was attentive.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 1, 2024
First off, I want to start off by saying the reason for the 1 star is mainly because our waiter was really attentive and nice. However, we stopped here for breakfast, and everything was going well until I bit into my scrambled eggs, only to find a weird object in them. It was a hard black piece of who knows what that the manager came to defend and claim was an avocado pit
(which it most definitely was not). I placed a picture on this review so we can take a poll and try to figure out what it actually is... any guesses? All I ate from my breakfast plate was toast and beans, as everything else gave me the ick after that incident. The manager also acted as if he was doing me a favor by taking off a couple of dollars off my dish, which was ridiculous. Overall, skip this place and go elsewhere. You never know what the hell their kitchen is up to and what will end up in your food!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 3 - 9372401373Oct 14, 2023
Had a reservation to go there on a weekend but we were 15mins late because of an accident on the road but the staff were very understanding and held it the spot for a us. The restaurant is bigger on the inside than it seems! They can easily fit a group of 7-8 people.
I went there for brunch which was pretty good! They had a variety of drinks and food options. My favourite was their lamb meatballs with bread, it was very flavourful. Their espresso martini was quiet nice as well!
The space is very well spaced so even if it gets crowded, it doesn't get too noisy. The customer service was warm and friendly.
Definitely recommend this space for a casual weekend brunch in Vancouver.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 1289Apr 1, 2024
I've only been to this establishment once and the dining experience was okay. The place seemed slightly understaffed, however the servers themselves were friendly and doing their best to provide great service, so I'd say the service itself was good especially in light of circumstance.
The table we were sat at was really small with no where to put our bags and coats in the winter and located right in the centre of the restaurant, it was just kinda of uncomfortable.
The food here was delicious, it disappeared fast. I remember the hash browns where done really well which can sometimes be a gamble. The price of the food was more pricy which makes sense for what is served, I only wish sitting inside was more comfortable. Mind you I've only been hear once and the service was good and the food was good so I still it's worth definitely checking out :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
