Palo Alto Medical Foundation

I have been with PAMF, off and on, but mostly on, and first as a parent and then as a patient myself, for 25 years. I have seen a wide array of doctors, and PAMF has earned a solid B with me - most doctors excellent, with a couple unfortunate exceptions.

Currently my team are an internist, a neurologist, a dermatologist, a physical medicine doctor, a cardiologist, and a gynecologist, and I am very happy with them all, so - currently 5 stars, historically 4 stars.

I am thankful to have PAMF in this community. Also, grateful for My Health Online with its very convenient messaging, appointments, test results, as well as the management of prescriptions, billing, and records requests.

The office says that they can see you 4+ months out if you have an issue. Then I wait for the appointment and they cancel it 2 weeks out.

Horrible service. I will not go back to this place

I am generally a fan of PAMF. However, their wait times seem to be getting worse and worse. This particular visit was horrendous. A 3-hour delay is unforgivable. Remember the Seinfeld episode about the missed car reservation where he tells the car rental employee... "I don't you know the meaning of a reservation". I don't think PAMF knows the meaning of an appointment.

Do not go to PAMF for physical therapy. They charge very high. Here is my surprise bill. $600 for 1 physical therapy session that lasted 45 minutes! (All their services charge very high compared to other providers. Essentially price gauging.)

I give 2 stars because they do have qualified and great medical staff. But how they conduct their billing practices reduces overall quality of care since you will do your best not to visit PAMF. I had to cancel my appointments after I was surprised by my bill.

And if you ask them to look, they will just say the codes are correct.

Do NOT USE Sutter Health Application Under Any circumstance! The terms of service are against your rights as a patient! See image. Sutter has angles working at this campus but they are mostly angles of death "Azrael"! I had a horrific operation by a Drug Dealer ENT Doctor Brendan Howard Pierce. He lied and misrepresented facts. Over prescribed narcotics, did not record some of the narcotics used in the operation and I had to go to a different hospital to find out how much he had poisoned me. For a small operation of removing a single polyp from my throat I was hospitalized for 3 days because he practically acted as angle of death and over prescribed narcotics. When I tried to capture medical records and communications with this doctor the Sutter Health showed a new terms of service for its my chart health app. Basically I had no right to electronic capturing of communications with my clinicians including my primary care. Sutter has full rights to the data to share among clinicians even if one of them harmed me. They have full right to share data but we as patient have no rights to capture data in case of gross negligence and malpractice! How is that for terms of service from Azrael Doctors and Clinicians? See image attached. You are better off seeing the colonoscopy team at PAMF/Sutter to remove vocal polyp than the ENT team lead by Mr. Pierce. All communications with this unethical health care provider has been captured as I never agreed to the unethical terms of service for the app and deleted it! Save yourself, see a community hospital, go to UCSF or Stanford if you can! Don't give them your business. Protect yourself and your patient rights!

I went here twice as a healthy adult for basic care. Both were a complete waste of time in the office followed by a ridiculous bill in the mail months later.

If it's not an emergency stay tf away from here

The billing practices here are deceptive and not transparent. I do not recommend any of the doctors or facilities as they care more about making money than you as a patient.

My husband and I had an online consultation with the PAMF travel clinic. We received a bill that was shocking: $760 for a 20-minute Zoom consultation together for both of us! I think it's absolutely overcharged for a travel consultation!

This is a review for a physical assistant Hwang in the internal Medicine department. I went in for my first annual exam with this hospital system. During the appointment, he was very nice, considerate and I liked him. I told him about my emotional trauma with dealing with multiple insurance surprise bills so to please only provide me preventative services/labs(covered by annual exam). However, week after my lab, of course, I received hundreds of dollars of lab bills. After going back and with with my insurance and sutter billing/code review dept, turns out the provider PA Hwang asked the lab to provide me non-preventive labs. He also admits this in my health online. It's the doctor's responsibility to give what the patient repeatedly requests (Only preventative services). It's NOT my expertise; I didn't goto schooling for this. Seriously unprofessional, untrained, and unethical to provide services to a patient that repeatedly says to not provide (non preventative) services. I cannot imagine if another patient goes and requests certain procedures to NOT obtain, but because the provider does not listen, the patient may get sick (such as allergy to certain labs or drugs). Fortunately I do not have any allergies but the thought of a provider not listening to a patient's request about their own medical situation is disgusting and scary, especially if the provider nods, agrees, and assures you during the appointment that they will listen and take your request. Do not goto PA Hwang at Palo Alto Sutter until he is better trained and learns from his error. I am awaiting the hospital system to waive my bill. I sure as heck will not be paying a single cent of this illegal b disgusting bill. Healthcare in America freaking sucks and this is just another place that reminds you of that.

Yesterday I went to Palo Alto Surgery Center Urology Department for the first time for my procedure. Their reception/waiting room has a very relaxing and soothing atmosphere decorated with an aquatic theme. All personnel were very friendly and accommodating. They make sure that my wife and I feel comfortable and relaxed. All medical personnel were professional. I hope that I'll not need their services again but if I do I'll not hesitate to select this place.
