Paul's has integrity to the bone. Ive lived here in the Richmond for 35 years and they are the only battery or tire shop I would recommend. They earned my trust and they deserve yours.
They have solid products at very fair prices, they do great work and they do it very fast. They are reasonable, patient, and they stand behind their products...they are stand-up guys at Pauls ...
And lastly, they are down with Big Daddy,

      Honest!

I was recommended to Paul's by another mechanic I trust, because I was worried about over-spending on unnecessary maintenance: some months back I had services completed at Stress Free Auto (formerly Emerald Auto), and Lexus of Serramonte; both places offered (unrequested!) quotes for many thousands of dollars of 'critical' maintenance. That had me worried.

I asked Paul's to inspect the parts of my car that were reportedly in need of 'critical' repair, and only one of FIVE 'critical' items was in need of timely maintenance, and even one item that was something I could defer for a bit, if I chose to!

Fast, reliable, honest and compassionate service is hard to find, and I'm so glad I found it at Paul's. I would not hesitate to recommend this place to others - they have a new long term customer in me. I'm grateful to have found another common sense mechanic after the retirement of Jim over at Emerald Auto (which is not the same without him!)

Busy place, but they diagnosed my shaking car with separation and explained what was going wrong, I had gone a while longer than recommended for new tires. The car shook after I went over 40. The tires were going oval. They don't use inner tubes in tires, but shout out to the guy who put inner tubes on a river. These guys were great, and the price was 200-300$ less than what my normal mechanic thought they were going to be. A lovely experience and would highly recommend even if I didn't get to meet "John", his people were top notch. Bring them a treat though, cuz they are not taking enough breaks to take care of themselves. Maybe a thing of fresh OJ. Thanks y'all!

I just had them replace a tire pressure sensor. They got it done quickly and I was able to make an appointment by calling a few days in advance and they were way cheaper than the dealer.

Always great - honest, reasonable and quick turnaround. Have been coming here for 3 years, have a Mini Cooper with run flat tires.

I came into Paul's in 2019 and asked for new tires and an alignment service. They offered 3 brands of tires with 3 prices and I picked the middle, Cooper, for $930ish out the door. I came back soon for the install. I drove home, and the next day I saw the car had a flat. I was able to drive back on the spare for them to fix it. They didn't seem to care there was a flat the day after they replaced it, which seemed odd, but eventually I shrugged their dismissive attitude off.

Then, more flats came. About every year, up until last week, we would get a flat. Each time was a different tire, and we chalked it up to potholes and the fact that the tires were low profile. There were never obvious punctures, and they could always re-inflate with a lot of time. In fact we had to re-inflate all the tires regularly and also chalked that up to them being low profile. This issue often felt like a series of bad luck moments and accidents, and the car was new to us so we didn't know what it was like before the 'new' tires, but I was always suspicious it was from the install at Paul's.

Flash forward to last week, it's early 2024 now. We get a flat out of no where, again. So we throw on the spare and head to a tire specialist. We're done with this set of tires and are ready for another full replacement so we told the mechanic all the trouble we've had. He did a thorough check of all the wheels and tires and told us... all the tires were the wrong size.

THE TIRES THAT WERE SELECTED AND INSTALLED BY PAUL'S TEAM WERE TOO SMALL FOR MY CAR. We also learned there were other issues that came from driving on tires that are too small, which were gone the second we got the right sized tires on the car.

I am writing this review because Paul's tire saw my car 3 times and should have realized and fixed the mistakes they made. 1- When they measured my tires and provided the quote 2- when they installed, and 3 - when they fixed the flat after their installation. They should have caught their mistakes and fixed them, but they didn't, and we have paid hundreds of dollars, now thousands, and so many hours over the years dealing with their huge mistake.

I'm glad other people have had good experiences. I wish I could say the same.

What a terrible experience. I came here after seeing the reviews online. Immediately after entering, I heard lots of cussing from the store manager. As I was waiting to get served, and his phone calls kept coming in, he kept cursing and calling them very bad names. I asked about the specific battery that he'd put in my car, he said "why do you want to see the f***ing battery?" This is no way to treat customers who're coming to you for service. Shame on you guys.

Super quick and easy service! Called and got in the same day. Tire patch cost around $50. Would recommend!
