Pipe Monkeys Sewer and Drain

Water was backing up in bathtub. Called late at night (maybe around 8?) and was able to make an appt for the next day immediately. Very friendly guy. The worker came right on time, did the job and working okay so far.

Can't speak to price because I didn't really shop around for pricing but it seemed reasonable.

Kitchen sink was leaking. Called on Wednesday, got an answer right away, made an appointment for Thursday. Plumbers were late but let me know when to expect them. They found that while the replacement of old pipes was easy, there is an issue the connection to the washing machine. They were honest about what they could and could not do, and found a way to make the repairs and leave the washing machine connection intact. All done in about an hour. Reasonable prices. Friendly service.

Our tech Jao (hopefully I spend it correctly) arrived on time to help us unclogged the main pipe. He patiently explain all the steps and what might have causing the problem. He spend his time here and make sure the job is done correctly. He even go down to basement to make sure no pipe are broken by accident. The price is good, no hidden fee. Come with Warranty for 90 days. Will recommend this business to anyone who need help.

As promised, I contacted Kirk when our storm drain was refusing to cooperate and one snaking didn't do anything. He sent Joaquin, who was on time and extremely friendly with my mother-in-law. He explained what was happening each step of the way and made sure to fix the problem rather than just snaking part of it and saying that was all. 90 day guarantee and thus far, with the monsoon we were hit with on Friday, no flooding into our basement and our downstairs bathroom drains faster than ever. They kept to the promised price with the cost of a part (reasonable) added on. We are so happy we found this local company!

I have used Pipe Monkeys three times in the past few years for my apartment. Once for the toilet, and twice for under the kitchen sink. Kirk is very pleasant and respectful. He is quick, efficient and will not waste your time. All three times he was able to come within the hour which I very appreciated!

Kirk is fantastic!!! Super quick at responding and was pleasant and patient over the phone when I described the random pipes screaming in our walls last month. He scheduled a 2 hour time frame and showed up ON. THE. DOT. He's incredibly honest and fair and admitted it was the first time he'd ever come across this problem. Since he wasn't exactly sure what the issue was, he proposed changing the fill valve and assured me if that didn't fix the problem, he'd come back out. Well, that fixed it and it's no longer a Scooby-Doo mystery.

Our only issue now is that the toilet tank sometimes doesn't fill up all the way but I called him today and he's swinging by to take a look and assured me he'll find out what the issue is - which I have full confidence in.

The only reason why I knocked off a star is because when his helper changed out the fill valve, he left our bathroom a mess and had stuffed the old fill valve in the already full teeny bathroom garbage can instead of giving to us to throw out. There was water that went all over the floor too, which he cleaned with paper towels that were also stuffed into the can. Even so, that was minor and can be easily improved upon. What you CAN'T change is Kirk's expertise/knowledge and excellent customer service.

They were very responsive and very reasonably priced. Completed the job to our satisfaction. Will definitely use them again if the need arises.

We had a sewer backup and filled out a Sewer Backup form on NYC.gov/311 to report it. After reading some reviews on Yelp and Angie's List, we decided to call Pipe Monkeys Sewer and Drain to resolve the issue.

The NYC DEP (Department of Environmental Protection) people arrived first to respond to the Sewer Backup form, and confirmed that there wasn't a problem with the City sewer main. Kirk from Pipe Monkeys arrived afterwards, within the prescribed timeframe. He quickly diagnosed the issue, which turned out to be an overlooked chore that anyone can perform: an annual (or twice per year) cleaning of the house sewer traps. Kirk then demonstrated how to open our sewer trap plugs, how to clear blockages with a regular toilet auger, and how to properly reseat the plugs.

Pipe Monkeys was on the expensive side for resolving what turned out to be a simple issue, but we had a good experience with Kirk. We especially appreciated that he explained and demonstrated how some maintenance tasks can be performed without a plumber.

I would consider using Pipe Monkeys again, to handle more complex work suitable to their expertise.

Very happy with the service provided. They were able to replace my old toilet, replace a shutoff valve, and unclog my tub. Would definitely hire again.
