Pro Max Appliance Repair

On the weekend of our 23rd wedding anniversary our AC unit started showing signs of an issue. On Saturday (7/6/24) with temps of 113 our AC struggled to keep inside temp at 78-79. We thought the overuse from the relentless 2 week run of 100+ degrees was causing the issue. One day later (7/7/24) temps 110 outside, the AC was still struggling and then the fan/blower stopped functioning!!! UGH sweat!
I came to Yelp for help and their "AI" tool connected me to multiple AC repair businesses.

The first response was from a company that charged $95 for a diagnostic visit and he didn't even test ANYTHING! He said he knew exactly what the issue was , a Freon leak and said fixing the leak would cost 1k and had a 25% chance to work otherwise he said I needed a new system at approx 20k... but he couldn't attempt to repair the leak until 2 days later if we wanted to go that route before system replacement.

It didn't feel right... I turned him away and went back to read Yelp reviews and was so impressed by the reviews for PRO Max Appliance Repair! On Yelp I saw all of the homeowners helped and photos of successful repairs! They all seemed to be repairs and not pushed to buy a new AC HVAC system!

I'm so glad I connected with PRO Max Appliance Repair!!! When Alex arrived he was taking temperatures checking the system and components and completing an actual diagnosis! During his diagnosis he said it was our capacitor! He went and got one ON HIS TRUCK!!! My Freon was fine and full with NO LEAK! he was so kind, FAST, knowledgeable and courteous! We had a great experience. The booking was easy as I posted a project and this team quickly responded and was straight forward.

Anna did the booking for us and got a technical out within a couple hours, what a life saver.

Paul came out and was very knowledgeable on our outdoor unit. He was efficient and didn't waste time. He was resourceful and helped troubleshoot possible issues, keeping our wallets in mind.

He went above and beyond for our satisfaction, I would call them again but hopefully don't have to for a long time.

My fridge was filling with water underneath the veggie trays, and I called these folks who had done a good job for me before. A technician came out on schedule in June, looked at it, and told me he needed to order a part and he would call me when it came it so we could schedule the install; the project was going to cost about $400. A month later, in mid-July, I still had not heard from them so I gave them a call. The lady that answered looked up my service call, and then told me someone would call me back to tell me the status. Another week passed and NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. Meantime I'm continually baling out water in my fridge.

I suppose the silver lining is that after their failure, I have ended up purchasing a new refrigerator. But I did foolishly depend on them to service their business.

Update: ProMax called me after this review and was very apologetic. Abby was very kind and offered any kind of accomodation, to the point where I felt bad about my negative review. It turns out after a month they STILL have not received that part from the supplier. Although I have purchased a new fridge, I promised her to call them next time I needed repair services.

Paul was excellent! Came and looked everything over. We didn't really figure out exactly what was causing the problem but we got it working. My system is so old it's hard to even find troubleshooting advice online, but Paul pieced it together and systematically went through and checked things until it was running again.
He didn't try to up sale me but did offer to put together a quote for a new system. That'll give me something to save for. Hopefully keep this thing going for a couple more years so I have the time to save.

Called them when it was in the middle of a heatwave and they came out right away and fixed our AC. This was such a relief and their tech Andrew was friendly and got the job done quickly.

Out of all of the businesses I reached out to, promax had the most immediate availability. I understand that it's an extremely busy time right now, as almost everyone's AC is dying, so everyone is booked up. Promax got me in. The technician was very knowledgeable and thorough and explained everything to me. He made sure to check and double check that my system was working properly before he left. He diagnosed the issue in less than 15 minutes. The ONLY issue I had was I was given a window of time that he would arrive, and he arrived about an hour after that window. I figured he was wrapped up with a project but I stayed home and didn't do anything during the service window. A call or text would have been nice so I could've gone and gotten a bite to eat. That is literally the ONLY issue I had. The price for the repair was amazing also. Very affordable. I gave their number to my neighbors

These guys were awesome! During the most torturous heat wave our AC really struggled and we felt that something wasn't right. We tried several places and they were all booked for weeks. Technician Paul came out within a few hours and replaced the part that was needed. Thank you!! Customer service was great as well, highly recommend.

Amazing quick service! Our ac went out then the next day Andrew was here the next morning and fixed our ac fast. Was kind and courteous! Definitely recommend and will be returning customers!
