Emailed Rite-Way to determine if they are able to rebuild my 1988 BMW alternator and they called me on the same day indicating being able to do it in less time than waiting for Bosch internet order. (NOTE: Bosch unit I ordered took 9 days to arrive and had a pressed bushing on the mounting bracket making it not fit my car; returned it and decided I would source to a local business.)

I planned to drop off my alternator and return in a few days, but they had one already rebuilt. Price is competitive and saved me the hassle of returning the core (FYI lowest shipping price was $47).

I've been going to Rite-Way for some 30 years, to diagnose and repair problems with auto and boat engine alternators, and recently, the alternator used on a stationary exercise bike. These guys are just great - they did a quick test and determined that the alternator was not faulty, so the problem was likely with the next step in the power and control chain, which is a circuit board. I purchased the board from the bike manufacturer and .... they were right and the bike is back in use.

Great experience. Brought my alternator in from my boat today. They quickly identified it, (despite no nameplate) had a replacement on the shelf, made the needed modifications, cleaned up the existing pulley and I was on my way for just over half of what I could have go it from the engine manufacturer and less than what I could find it online. I will no doubt go there again. Put it in tonight and no problems. Worked like a charm.
I went to both a Napa and an O'Reilly's and it was like pulling teeth. Its not that they didn't want to help but with it not being off car it threw them for a loop!
Something has to be said for specialists......and I would be willing to pay more for that. In the end I didn't have to.

These guys are awesome. Suspected my alternator went bad on my truck so I removed the part and took it to these guys. While I was there, they bench tested and confirmed my alternator is dead. They had the replacement in stock and made sure the pulley matched to my old one. Truck was back up and running again the same day. True professionals.

These guys are the best! I brought in the motor from my 1941 South Bend metal lathe, and they found and fixed the problem right away. The price was great, the service was great. I received a full explanation of what the problem was, which was far more simple than I thought it would be, and they were honest about it and just fixed what was wrong instead of reworking the whole motor. The guys helped me unload and load the equipment from and into my car, which a lot of shops won't do. I cannot praise Rite-Way Electric enough!

Great friendly folk. They even bench tested my old starter for me before making the sale. The new starter for my older Volvo was in stock and worked great. Minus a star for not being the cheapest reman starter in town ($150 vs $95 at Alternators and Starters of CA, e.g.), but conveniently located, and still a fair price.

Really wonderful shop--came in for an alternator rebuild, and they conveniently had one already put together and ready to go. Really great quality rebuilds too--everything is super clean. I had the pleasure of dealing with Mark, who was incredibly helpful and really honest in answering all of my questions. Quick, professional and helpful! If they keep things up and operate the way they do, I'm definitely a customer for life. My RX7 lives again!

Very quick service! Brought a bad alternator from my IS-F here and it was fixed for a third the cost of a new one from the dealer. Getting there is a pain with all the traffic and parking is even worse. But once you find parking, everyone there is super helpful and trustworthy. I dropped the alternator off on Friday afternoon and got it back Monday morning.
