I was in the market for a CPO 2023 Audi A5 Prestige since Q4 2023.
It's almost been 20 years since I've purchased my last car, so I wanted to make sure I took my time finding something I loved at the right price.
I'm located in LA, and my experience with the dealerships here were not the greatest (to say the least), so I was relieved to come across the exact car at Royal Auto Group in SF!
From my first inquiry, Alastair was exceptional (an understatement).
He was helpful, knowledgeable, and very patient - even after I drove off alarmed/confused over some of the Driver Assist signs on the dash (again, my last car was a 2006. ...Technology. LOL). He was always quick to communicate, and took the time to answer all of my questions with great detail - even sending him pictures to compare other cars in my area. I truly did not want to have to drive a car back to LA, but my experience with Royal Auto Group and Alastair was absolutely worth it. All the ins and outs that go into researching, test driving, dealing with the weird passive aggressive sales tactics feel like absolute hell (part of why I've avoided this for so long), but I honestly felt zero pressure during my experience with Alastair. The entire experience was relaxed and friendly. 3.28.2024 update: our mazda cx-5 diesel has a known issue with a high engine oil level warning light and mazda issued a recall for a fix. well, the fix isn't working and bringing it in and attempting to get answers or a discussion about a permanent fix, I get ignorant, evasive responses and promises that the service manager will call me back. I've also asked three times for a pdf copy of my repair order to be emailed to me but it still has not happened. is customer service dead?! It certainly seems like it at royal mazda...

I had a great experience here. I needed a car and found a 2021 Mazda cx 5 at a good price. My salesman Dennel was great too. Dennel was totally low pressure but also very helpful and knowledgeable about the car. I love my car and it runs great. I highly recommend Dennel and Royal Motors./

VOLVO XC90 experience - I have bought several cars before including MB and BMW but I must say this is by far the best experience I have ever had. It was stress free! Jacob (salesman) is amazing. Our negotiations were done via text. He knocked off a few thousands off the MSRP. He was very honest, informative and efficient.
I also appreciate Yakov from sales. He didn't try to sell some stuff to us. He just gave us his honest opinion and let us decide of what we wanted. Not pushy at all! He was very efficient and kept the ball rolling to get us out asap.

tl;dr Great service, complete professionals, absolutely recommend, especially Jacob. Even cancelled my reservation at another dealership to re-purchase it with Jacob and Royal Auto.
My old car was completely dying and my past experiences at car dealerships has been pretty awful (either super patronizing, dishonest, or just bad or desperate vibes).
I reluctantly made contact with Jacob at Royal Auto and immediately was happy and relieved to have found someone who:
- communicates directly and clearly
- is happy to answer questions and to proactively give me additional related information
- did not ever pressure or patronize me
- was a complete professional through the whole transaction, and every followup, while still remaining human and warm.
My partner wasn't able to make it to the dealership, so Jacob walked me through all the features of the car, one-by-one, and we videoed it to share with her when I got home.
They even accepted a trade-in for my old, dying car, and gave me more than I asked for so it covered my first payments.

Very good experience of purchasing the car which I have never been treated in other dealer.
The transparency and well communication in advance without back and forth negotiation really drags me down to the deal. Definitely an 11 out of 10 rating.

SOLD ME A CAR AND NEVER ,I repeat, NEVER , gave me the title. I paid in FULL the first day I went there....
3-4 years later, where is my title when I want to sell it??@?@??@!! THIS IS ABSURD ; Now I'm waiting MONTHS to get this title, what is happening??
My safety is being held up, it's beyond ridiculous. And not to mention that I, ME, was the one who had to discover it. TRUST ME, when you get your sales from this place, make sure you get your title. This is complete BS. Sitting on my title for years after I paid in full the first day. Watch what contracts you sign. Don't fall for their 'finance contract' if you pay in full. I took my Golf GTI for an appraisal at Volkswagen/Royal Automotive Group. Justin was able to match carmax's offer. Justin had a vehicle in stock that I was also looking to purchase and once we worked through some high level numbers, i opted to do a test drive. He handed me over to Azaria. Azaria is a fantastic sales person. I had already done enough research of the car I was test driving and was mainly interested in testing its performance and handling on the highway. We had a great conversation during the drive.
When we got back to the dealer, Azaria didn't put any added pressure to make a purchase, which I appreciated.
The vehicle I test drove is definitely an upgrade over the GTI(GTI is a fun car to drive too!) so I decided to proceed with buying the car. I may have kept looking elsewhere if it wasn't for the great customer service.
Azaria, took care of getting the car detailed while I filled out the paperwork, guided me through the car's infotainment system. Seriously, if you're considering purchasing a Volkswagen, Audi, Mazda or Volvo, check out Royal Automotive group in San Francisco. I recently went through the process of buying a used car and came across some great Volvo options with Royal Auto. I was connected with Jacob, who from the very beginning was extremely responsive and flexible in finding me different options and setting me up with some test drives.
I originally intended to check out a 2022 Volco XC40, but he notified me the day of my test drive that it had sold that morning. He quickly sent over some more options that were similar in specs and price, and I drove a great 2021 XC60 off the lot the next day.
This was my first car buying experience, and Jacob and the rest of the team made it a seamless one. At no point did I feel like I was dealing with the stereotypical "used car salesman" personality - he simply presented me with the facts and let me make my own decision on my own timeline. I just signed my second lease at Royal Auto Group and LOVE it. I have an Audi dealership about 5 minutes from my house (in Marin), but I come to this location because of the level of professionalism, honesty and service I get from the team. I work with Alastair Pakiam in sales. I used to dread going into showrooms because of the hard sells and feeling pushed into something I don't 100% want at that time. He is so knowledgeable, nice, and honest - he got to know what I wanted and pointed me in the right direction. On this last lease I had no intention of turning in my car early, but was so excited about the option that he found me I did it. I left with my dream car at a price that is doable for me. He has since checked in to make sure I'm still happy, and has answered all of my questions that have come up. I will always go to Royal Auto Group and always work with Alastair from here on out!
