The left side wire of my garage door came loose all of a sudden and meant my door was stuck open in the middle of a car wash. It was late 5 pm already and most businesses weren't open anymore so it was great John responded quickly and was able to come by that evening.

He was courteous and communicated clearly from start to finish, and mostly importantly didn't try to upsell us on a variety of things our probably 30 year old doors may need down the road. We've had bad experiences where a smaller issue results in getting taken advantage of by shady businesses so we're glad John came, did the work in 25 minutes, and didn't pressure us for anything else.

Got a 3 year warranty on the spring replacements and will probably call John up if and when we decide to finally replace these old doors!

I had a frustrating experience with Safety Garage Door Company. I reached out to them for a price estimate on a new garage door and opener. Although I initially requested detailed information via email, the responses were unhelpful and vague.

When I asked about the specifics of the door model and the type of opener included in their $1600 quote, the only response I received was to call them for more details. I explained that I couldn't take calls while at work and asked for the information in writing instead. Instead of providing the details, they insisted on a phone call and suggested that if I couldn't speak with them, I should not deal with their company.

This lack of transparency and unwillingness to answer straightforward questions made me question their honesty and professionalism. If you're looking for a company that values clear communication and customer service, I suggest you look elsewhere.

On July 27, 2023, I started a project on Yelp to get quotes for garage door repair. I was promptly contacted by Safety Garage Door Repair to schedule a free estimate. Initially, I thought the estimate would be given over the phone, but Sam from Safety Garage Door Repair informed me that an in-person visit would be better. I provided my address as requested.

A few hours later, technician Sharif arrived to inspect the garage door and provide a quote. I informed him that I was only seeking an estimate and would reach out if I decided to proceed. Sharif seemed upset by this and mentioned that he had driven a long distance for the in-person estimate. I explained that I had requested a phone consultation and preferred it for convenience, but it was Safety Garage Door Repair that insisted on an in-person visit. I felt it was unfair for him to express frustration towards me.

Sharif quoted $250 for fixing the cable and $450 for labor to install a new garage door opener I had purchased from Lowe's. He mentioned that the total cost of $700 was for labor alone and that the installation would take about 40 minutes. The cost seemed exorbitant--$700 for 40 minutes of labor, which is more than some doctors and lawyers charge. Nonetheless, I thanked him for coming.

Later that night, I decided to write a review on Yelp detailing my experience. The next day, Sharif showed up at my house unannounced, seemingly to convince me to remove the review. Since I was not home, my family informed him of my absence. I later spoke with Sharif on the phone, and he asked me to remove the review. I explained that my review was not negative but a description of my experience.

An hour later, Sharif's boss, Ammar (believed to be the owner), called me and also tried to persuade me to take down the review. When I refused, Ammar became upset and verbally attacked me, using the phrase, "I don't even want to work with you, you cheap s**t!" I was deeply disturbed by this encounter and the aggressive behavior.

As a Yelp user, it is troubling to experience unannounced visits and verbal threats from a business in an attempt to remove a review. This experience makes me question the authenticity of the positive reviews this business receives--perhaps many were coerced into removal of negative feedback.

Setting up the appointment took only a few minutes. Mack, our repair tech, was prompt and professional. Diagnosed our issue right away and gave us great info about our opener. Took only a few minutes and everything is working great. Would totally recommend Safety Garage Door Repair.

Sent out a service request around 1pm, totally fixed by around 4pm. Wow!
New garage door opener installed and programmed, tracks serviced, hardware tightened, safety infrared sensors in place, nifty new camera alerting me when someone's moving around my garage, super quiet operation. Couldn't be happier. Sharif was helpful and efficient. Price was reasonable. Definitely recommend.

Ammar from Safety Garage Door Repair & Installation did a fantastic job replacing my broken garage door. He arrived on time, was very polite, and completed the work efficiently in about an hour. I highly recommend his services.

I called Safety Garage Door Repair on a Saturday for a garage door that wouldn't open. I was able to get an appointment that afternoon. Ammar came exactly when he said he would, replaced the broken spring, and while he was here I asked him to fix a few other things about the door. I was upselling HIM! He did a great job. He was super efficient, pleasant, and he knows what he's doing. The price was more than fair. A pleasure. Absolutely recommend.

The tension spring broke on my garage and my garage door came crashing down. Luckily, nothing else looked damaged. I used Yelp to get quotes at around 7pm and SGD was one of the first to respond quickly. Amani was quick to schedule me an appointment and when I mentioned if they can squeeze me in for service the same night, she was able to get a tech to my house 3 hours later... on a Friday night. I loved that they have an online tracker so I know if the tech is on its way and their ETA. Small things like that go a long way. No more hoping whether someone comes on time for their appointment or worse, no call/no show.

Nezzar arrived at about 10pm and quickly knew what the issue was. He gave me a quote and said he has everything in his truck to perform the work tonight. Along with disassembling the broken spring, he saw the pulleys and bearings and also some plastic parts the previous installer used were in bad shape and explained why it should be replaced. He gave a quick quote for the additional cost if I wanted to get it done, no pressure at all. I decided to get it done in one appointment and he was done with everything in about 45 minutes. Again, all the parts were already available in his truck. No need to make another appointment and come back. Great service! He also gave me maintenance tips to keep the garage door working smoothly and gave me a small 1st time customer discount.

Had my garage opener replaced. My technician Ammar was prompt, answered all of my questions and finished his work quickly. Really excellent service.
