      PROS:
      - great for adults and kids
      - really good diff levels of interactive aspects throughout
      - interactive parts are optional and can go at your own pace or stop anytime or don't do at all
      - self guided tour but they have a suggested order
      - so many cool things to see
      - great and captivating facts, artifacts, and articles
      - there is an AMAZING gift shop (10/10!)

      CONS:
      - large groups can be a disorderly and distracting
      - not always clear direction on where to go
      - can take 2-3 hrs to do the whole thing

TIPS... give yourself extra time to go through this whole experience, it can take a good 2hrs+ if you really want the full experience, and it's worth it! It's fun and the time goes by really fast!
      * LOTS OF WALKING! WEAR COMFY SHOES!!! *

Had a wonderful time here! We picked this place randomly after having ramen on a 16 degree cold Saturday afternoon. We wanted to do something fun, but out of the cold. This place did not disappoint and was amazing!!! We didn't read anything about it so went into it blind really not knowing what it was about or what to expect or how anything worked at all, lol. When you get there you are assigned a bracelet based on what you paid for, we paid for the tour package. So you get assigned a locker where you can put your stuff (locker key is all on your bracelet band). Then you get to watch a lil intro video and wait for your tour guide. At that point you are told what to do and there are a bunch of lil kiosks that you can scan your band into and then they tell you what you should do. You have the option to control what you do in your phone or in the diff rooms you visit. All the rooms are for diff kinds of spy categories and you can go in order or go however you want. There are short games, puzzles, and quizzes throughout the rooms and in your phone, all of which is to help determine what kind of spy you would be and what role you would play. This whole thing seems like a lot but it's not! It is super fun and if you have any interest in this genre or even if you don't YOU WILL HAVE SO MUCH FUN!!!

The only thing that wasn't so great is that they need better arrows/directions on the floors on where to go bc it gets confusing, so maybe adding some words next to arrows on where to go from which room to which would help.

      1 check-in

This museum has so much potential. Unfortunately, due to the inadequate explanation of how the experience was supposed to work, I was confused and disinterested throughout my time in Spyscape.

Right off the bat, the employees did not seem to know what was going on. We stood around for about ten minutes, followed by a far too quiet and far too lacking explanation of what we were supposed to do. The museum has these digital stations set up around it and you're supposed to follow arrows on the floor to each one, scan a bracelet for each station? I really wasn't sure and had to guess at what I was doing. Initially, I did not mind, because I loved reading the bits of information on the walls and seeing the pieces of spyware.

Lo and behold, the digital stations were really important to the "end goal" of the experience: finding out which type of spy you are. Oh well.

All in all, although this museum was touted as a "#1 rated NYC experience" (or something like that), the operation is poorly executed and explained. I definitely had some fun or cool moments, but I'd much rather have spent my lost hour or so walking around the city. Would not recommend and will not return.

As we were looking for something fun to do while in NYC, we happened to find the SPYGAMES Experience (within the SPYSCAPE building) and we're so happy we did because we had a blast.

We bought the tickets online and reserved a spot for a Friday afternoon. Once we arrived, they scanned our tickets and we were guided to the 2nd floor which is where the SPYGAMES area is located. Wristbands were given to each of us and we activated the wristbands at the kiosk before playing.

Upon entering the gaming area, we were able to stand in the lobby and watch all of the games displayed on the wall being played by others. Each game was inside of a gaming room and was very interactive. We were able to play any of the games that were available or wait outside until others finished the game; each game was timed and lasted less than 2 mins. The games were based on memory, strategy and agility that tested both mental and physical skills and we tried to play as many as we could before our allotted time was up. Unfortunately, waiting for the game rooms to be available became somewhat of a hassle so we didn't get to play them all.

SPYSCAPE includes the SPYGAMES and the SPY HQ, which is an area within the museum where you can break codes and solve problems. I would recommend this interactive museum for families, date nights or groups. Other areas of the museum included items for purchase, books for sale and a sitting area. We absolutely loved this experience and had a great time.

This is a refreshing way to challenge yourself, to have fun and get to know your physical and mental ability and agility.

My resilience to never give up was also tested!

Will sure be coming back with my buddies!

Such a fun experience! Definitely come with tennis shoes and energy as each zone has you running around. Staff was also very friendly and the experience wasn't too expensive. We would definitely recommend visiting this experience!

      Updated review

I didn't go to spyscape the second time. I ended up just going to check out spygames instead. It reminds me of this place with a chain/ franchise called activate. Where you form groups and play these interactive games. Before you go in, you are briefed by the people who work there, and you check in on a tablet. Also, they have individual lockers for you to use if you'd like. There is a restroom right by the lockers, so there is no need to find one elsewhere at spyscape. It is a separate charge, and in order to play the game, you need a bracelet that has a chip inside of it. No phones allowed while you're there. But you won't have time to use your phones so that's fine. I would like to go back with more people as some of these games you can earn more points with a larger team and advance to a better status.

Signed up to be a beta tester for their Spygames after having visited the Spyscape museum within the same building. The museum was great and was filled with espionage-related historical information and had interactive stations where you can build your own spy profile. Your scores at these interactive stations are tracked through a wristband you receive at the front desk when you sign in.

The Spygames area is still in development but you can sign up as beta testers in groups of 2-6. Your entire team go through different zones with different objectives that test your ability to strategize, work together and under pressure, as well as some of your physical abilities. It was a great and fun experience to do. I would suggest signing up for a non prime time slot to avoid crowds.

I was one of their beta testers for their new spy games! If you have done Beat The Bomb, it's a similar concept to that.

There are about 10 rooms that you will go through as a team to beat a timer and gain a certain amount of points. Some of the rooms entail:

      1. "Climbing"
      2. Throwing balls
      3. Jumping on tiles/marks
      4. Dodging lasers and hitting a buzzer

I came here as a two-player team and saw this via an ad. For $20/person, I highly recommend going here, whether it's a family outing, friends, or a date.

I'd say that it took about 1.5 hour to get through everything and a lot of teamwork. What's great about these rooms is that you also don't have to go in order. You can pick and choose.

There were a lot of people total, so we had to wait occasionally for our turn.

Will definitely visit again to show others! Unless they change the rooms up, I would say this is a once in every few years activity for me.

Perfect date night and or family activity!

My husband and I chose this for a date night activity before dinner.

This experience took exactly 2 hours and some minutes to do some merch shopping. It was a very knowledgeable, interactive and interesting experience. If you're into spy related things, this is for you. It covers history and stories of previous spies and their backgrounds.

Take your time and make sure you immerse yourself in the experience! In the end you will find out what your special role would be in the spy world.

Parking will be a hassle unless you choose to park in a garage close by. However, it is accessible by public transportation and a 10 minute walk from Times Square.

      You won't regret this!
