Sugar Bear Plumbing

A called these guys at 7:30am for a clogged drain and clogged toilet. They had everything fixed by 10:00am. They are a father and son shop so they care a lot about the quality of customer service and word-of-mouth referral. Prices weren't bad either. Both jobs for under $200.

Had our 4th service call with Plumber
Chris Smith and his assistant. Once again we received primo service, he called on the way, protected our floors, made an educated assessment, installed quality fixtures and cleaned up afterward. Sugar Bear is a sure bet- every visit! Many thanks!!

The sewer at our home backed up. I had three plumbing companies comes and give me a bid. Sugar Bear was not the cheapest out of the three but I liked Ian and the boys professionalism and care to the property.
It has been a hard and big job. Things are going wells

Sugar Bear Plumbing exceeded expectations rerouting drain pipes from my kitchen sink to the main drain. General Manager Lawrence with Chris and Tony did an amazing job so I hired them for additional work replacing my heating system and water heater. Lawrence is knowledgeable and balanced navigating a job and appreciated he provided a couple estimates for each job depending on the scope.

Had a slab leak that needed major repair but only Sugarbear was able to give us a quick plan of how to repipe the entire system and the estimates too. Done in 4 days! Aaron and his assistant was easy to talk to, and he accommodated all our requests. Very clean job! Mia at their office was very helpful too. It's been 3 weeks now since the work was done and so far we've had no issues.

I didn't hire this company as I had super bad experience even during the price quote.

They came on site to provide quote for the repair, but they tried many ways to con me.

First their price is way more expensive than others, asking for $395 for 10 minute of repair work. I couldn't decide to hire them right away but still happy to keep their estimate for the reference.

Second, they tried to trick me into committing a payment without knowledge.

After I reviewed their estimate, I was asked to fill the customer info. I was a bit surprised as I already provided it over the phone. But I filled their form anyway. Then they "casually" asked me to sign as to "accept the estimate" and then they will give the estimate to me.

I immediately felt something is wrong and I started to read the fineprint on the form carefully -- it is a form to authorize them to charge me for any price they put in!

Third, they refuse to provide any written estimate.

I refused to sign but I would like to keep the form as reference of their price. You know what happened? They refused to give me to estimate and said it is company's confidential information! I am only allowed to remember their price, no written record! When they come back, it could be a different price!

Last and most important, they try to make money from me without doing any work!

I immediately sent them away as I am not interested to work with them. But they hanged around at my property for another 20 minutes, interrupting my work with other contractors frequently and trying to convince me to hire them.

After all the efforts have failed, they changed their face and asked me to pay them $65 as on-site service fee! They got to be kidding, I talked to them 4 times on phone with different people before they came, no one ever mentioned there is a fee and of course I never agreed to pay anything. All other companies do free estimate anyway.

These folks argued with me for 10 minutes and tried to force me to pay. I had to walk away as I am really sick of their non-sense tricks.

To make it more ridiculous, they were actually running a promotion as "free service visit valued at $25" on yelp at that time. I don't see any ground of the $65 charge.

Nice of him not to charge us for unclogging our toilet that flushed on it's own (clearly indicating that there was no longer any clog). If this guy would have just shown up and been honest about the issue (that if there was a small clog it had flushed and everything seemed to be fine) I would have gladly paid him for his service call and thanked him for his quick service and honesty (to certainly be followed by many referrals and call backs). Instead, he chose to pretend there was a problem, then offered to snake the "slow drains" in our sink and bath tub for the low, low charge of $85 each.

Incidentally, I bought a barbed zip line and Home Depot for $2.73 and cleaned the hair out of both those drains in less than 90 seconds.... but thanks for offering to "fix" that problem for my wife. Instead of tons of referral business, this guy is only getting a bad review from me.

William was extremely responsive and very quick to provide a quote. He works Saturdays and it was really easy to schedule appointments with him.

Unfortunately, that was the end of the good news. He had a bad attitude in general while working on the plumbing. In our case, he unclogged the toilet and replaced two flappers, but when I pointed out that the flush handle was now looser than it was before he worked on it, he went nuts. He started shouting at me and eventually stormed off saying I know nothing.

Must have been something weird he ate. Or maybe he doesn't care anymore because he has good Yelp ratings. Either way, it was a horrible experience for me.

I had an abysmally clogged kitchen sink and tub that I had tried for days to fix. I called C-Snake Plumbing and talked to William about the problems I was having.

William was quick to come out and help, keep in mind this was at 6:45 at night. William showed up in a timely manner, had the right tools with him and was courteous enough to wear little foot slippers when he came in the door.

He got right to work and within a few minutes the pipes were off and he was running the snake down the drain. After doing this for a little while, he reassembled the plumbing and ran water through the system. After this first attempt did not work he clearly explained why he thought it did not work, what he needed to do different and got right back to disassembling the pipes again. No complains, no sighs or any sort of negative vibes. You just get the impression he likes to get the job done right. After the second attempt he was able to clear our the drain just as he expected.

Let me tell you as a guy who has a hobby of cooking, not having a functional kitchen sink is not fun. I was ecstatic when everything was working again. Anyhow William owns/runs this company and you can see his pride in his work. His knowledge about plumbing hardware was fluent and precise. He is a genuine friendly local guy and I will call him again if anymore plumbing problems come up.

As a side note he charged me what he said he would and did not add any extra complications to the bill at the end. I like that sort of a deal.

William was inexpensive and easy to schedule... BUT he was also argumentative and difficult to deal with. He installed my kitchen sink fixture, and it was immediately wobbly (the bolt underneath was loose), and because he was difficult to deal with my wife didn't want him to come back. We had to hire another plumber to come back just to tighten the bolt.

If you're tough and willing to argue, William is fine. If you want someone honest and easy to deal with, find someone else.

I called C-Snake after reading reviews on Yelp and was glad that I did. Last night, I had a really bad kitchen sink clogged and the problem was in the valve outside the house. (This has happened before). I tried snaking the drain myself but after a few tries, the water was still at a stand still.

I called C-Snake this morning at 8:20AM and talked directly to William. He gave me a fair price quote and told me he could be at my house by 9AM. I called a few other places to compare prices and decided to go with C-Snake. He showed up exactly as planned and unclogged the main valve using an industrial snake.

William was fair, honest, and took care of the situation very efficiently. He was also nice enough to come inside the house to check out the pipes under our kitchen sink to make sure they weren't the causing any of the clogging problems.

5 stars for great service, coming within short notice, and fair pricing. I highly recommend C-Snake.
