Sunny Side Up

Newly opened about 2 months ago, Sunny Side Up replaces the old De Dutch beside the Starbucks on 2nd. There was a soft opening deal, now replaced by grand opening deals: $8.88 daily special (before 11am) and $10.99 lunch specials every weekday (2 options per day).

The daily special is nothing special, standard breakfast fare, but potions are decent, and you can't get much with $9 these days! Eggs are golden and well made.

We also got the chicken & jalapeño waffles ($15.5) -- we were impressed with the crispiness & tenderness of the chicken, but the glaze isn't particularly exciting and tastes basically like maple syrup. The jalapeño waffles are on the stale side, unfortunately.

Service is 5/5 for sure, very courteous and attentive with refills. They did get one of our orders wrong but apologized profusely for it and fixed the mistake appropriately (though it took a little while for us to get the right order).

Will come back for lunch specials next time -- hoping the place will stay open and stay this cheap!
