This is my go to lunch sushi establishment for several reasons:
1. I like their lunch specials.
2. The taste and presentation of the sushi has always been good.
3. The ambiance is great with soft background music.
4. The service is also great.
Opted for the 2 item lunch special this time around with a Tuna Avocado Roll and a Dynamite Roll. At $10.50 for the two items with miso soup is great value.
It was another positive food experience and happy to continue to recommend Sushi Mania for lunch.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Sep 24, 2023Previous reviewStopped by early on a Saturday as their lunch service started. There is limited seating and always great to secure seating. Again opted for the lunch special with beef teriyaki, dynamite roll, California roll, tuna avocado roll and yam tempura roll. This is more than ample food for 2 persons. The food came out pretty quick and our tea was regularly filled by the server. The taste and presentation of all the dishes was great and hard to beat the value.
It was another positive food experience and happy to continue to recommend Sushi Mania for lunch.Apr 25, 2023Previous reviewStopped by mid week for lunch. Love that they still have their lunch combo with 2 items for $10.50 or 3 items for $15.75.
This time around opted for the beef teriyaki on rice as one of the items and added the sushi pizza.
The presentation and taste of all we ordered were great. And the service was good as well...always great when our tea cups are filled when empty.
It was a positive food experience.Jun 2, 2021Previous reviewReturned during COVID to Sushi Mania for take out. Ordered their 3 item lunch deal. It is a great deal at $11.95 for 3 items plus miso soup. Opted for the alaska roll, dynamite roll and yam tempura roll. Waited outside and they brought my lunch to me. The presentation and taste were great. Three rolls were probably too much for me for lunch so may opt for the 2 item lunch deal when I return or try the gomaae or nigiri as my 3rd item the next time.
It was a positive food experience and happy to recommend Sushi Mania.Jun 11, 2017Previous reviewCame by on Saturday afternoon for lunch. Found 2 hr free parking right out front, so that was a great way to start. I liked the simplicity and cleanliness of the room. The staff were quite friendly and attentive. Ordered the sushi pizza and also the roll combo. Both were quite good and very reasonably priced...the presentation of the sushi pizza was excellent. We liked that they do not put too much rice in their rolls. I think this may become our default sushi establishment in the 'hood.
Great value, service and taste made for a positive food experience and happy to recommend Sushi Mania. - Dec 18, 2022
Good quality sushi, a slight step above the average sushi joint in the area.
They have a lunch special that includes miso soup and a choice of 2 items for $10.50, or 3 items for $15.75, plus tax. I did the latter, and got 3 pieces of inari nigiri, 1 avocado roll, and 1 veggie roll. My wife ordered a la care, getting 1 inari nigiri ($1.80), 1 avocado roll ($4.75) and 1 mighty veggie roll ($7.50). It turns out their regular veggie roll is pretty lame and basically just an avocado roll with a touch of cucumber and inari skin; the mighty veggie roll is way more satisfying and interesting, coming with broccoli and carrot in addition to avocado, cucumber and inari -- much more satisfying. Also, if vegan, their miso soup does *not* have fish in it, so that's a plus.
Good sushi overall, pleasant environment, and friendly, helpful service. Recommended.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 18, 2023
Met up with some friends for a casual dine out to this restaurant not of my choosing.
On google, hours of operation is listed as open at 11:00 actually 11:30. They supposedly revised it without updating on the internet.
The restaurant has a dark narrow space with sticky table tops and floors. It could be the lacquer degenerating or dirty floors and tables. Cannot be sure.
We were seated by a small blond Japanese female staff who speaks no English.
As two of our guests are late, our server grew very impatient with us for not ordering. Her demeanour was generally unpleasant. She gave us tap water and said the tea is not ready. (Never ever bothered to serve tea even when and if the tea became ready,)
When our guests are fully arrived, while still considering what to order, the impatient waitress came by to ask if we were ready to order a number of times.
The positives, the prices are very yesteryear. The kitchen staff spoke Japanese. Are they highly skilled? Not particularly.
The food is standard affair. Decent for the price.
Service is noticeably bad.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 2388953958Oct 9, 2022Updated review
Came for a quick sushi meal and was glad to see that the food is reasonably priced and still quite tasty. Their two item lunch is now at $10.50 and the choices aren't bad but I really wanted a house roll so that is what I got. The house roll is quite good with a decent amount of filling being crab meat, tuna, salmon, cucumber and tamago. I was not as happy about the kids california roll (mostly my own mistake) as it was more of a california maki with the rice on the outside and no avocado. I recommend going with the regular california roll instead.
Their rice is laid on a little bit thick in comparison to the filling BUT I did appreciate the vinegary-ness of the rice and it was not too mushy or packed too tightly.
Overall, a decent place for sushi but dine in is very small.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Mar 29, 2018Previous reviewDelicious sushi with a great price, their lunch menu lets you choose 2 or 3 rolls for a reasonable price. Yes their rolls are a bit smaller than other places but for around 20$, my friend and I had a wonder feast of a mania roll, alaska roll, dynamite roll and half a salmon sashimi. I really liked how the layers of rice were thin and that the mania roll especially had lots of scallop and crab meat. This was a little heavy on the mayo but it was delicious!
Overall, I keep coming back for the great sushi and reasonable prices!Apr 23, 2016Previous reviewfood is fresh, delicious and best of all, a great price!
came on a saturday afternoon and after a well worth it 15 minute wait, we got a seat inside the tiny restaurant. we ordered off the lunch special menu with an alaska, dynamite and spicy salmon roll all for only 9 bucks. all with ample filling and a very thin layer of rice, each one was delicious!
we also got the assorted sashimi and each piece was fresh as well, they were also generous in size and only 15 dollars! the two special rolls we tried were crunchy munchy which was spicy tuna with LOTS of yam fries on top and of course, some sauce. there was so much yam...but the roll itself was also delicious! my mom loved eating the fries on their one as they weren't too greasy or soggy being freshly fried. the other roll, big bang was my favourite with california on the inside and seared tuna on top. it was again, large in size with very little rice and not drowning in sauce. at only 8 dollars per special roll, they were again a great deal!
finally, we tried the takoyaki which was a good price and tasted standard and toro and chopped scallop nigiri which were only $1.50 each but had so much fish on top of each!
overall, great prices for great food and really really kind and quick service. definitely a revisit type of place! - 3396191May 13, 2021Updated review
I have too many good things to say about this restaurant. We order here often, because the quality of the fish, the quality of the rolls and the overall service is always excellent. Yes, there are times when it has been slower and not up to its usual par....but that is very rare!
I would highly highly recommend this place if you want delicious sashimi, delicious rolls and a varied selection!
I always get the HOT roll, the Alaska roll, the rainbow roll and the Mania roll and it never disappoints. Fresh, yummy and full of the ingredients they promise.
My husband always loves the kaarage and tako yaki, always fresh and yummy as well. I usually order the agadashi tofu, which I love, but I wish they would put in a separate small container, so I could add the sauce to it. I usually have to take out the food it comes with and make a makeshift container to add the sauce so it soaks it up as normal.
All in all, this is our usual Go To sushi place and we highly recommend it!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Jan 6, 2020Previous reviewWe decided to order take out from here, our main go to place on Main for takeout is Dream Sushi but we'd heard good things about this place, so decided to give it a try. We are so glad we did!
The food is so fresh, especially the fish, and with options to get brown rice with everything, or to to change any salmon to wild, it will be a regular go to place for us. It also helps that the prices are so reasonable as well.
We ordered by phone and picked up and was ready in 20 minutes. They did call us back to let us know that they had run it if one of their special sauces for one of their roles, so we had to switch that, but other than that, our order was perfect.
The tempura prawns were lightly battered and crunchy, same with the chicken karrage. The gyoza was crunchy and warm on the outside and soft and yummy inside. Each roll was well made, and you could tell, it was made my hand, not a robot, which I find better tasting, the rice not so tough and 'formed'.
Any sashimi you order from here will definitely be fresh and delicious! - Mar 3, 2020Updated review
I was here on January 28th, Tuesday and needed some yummy lunch that day. Sushi Mania was the perfect spot in this neigbourhood so I went in. Waiting was not too bad.
I got Alaska Combo ($10.95) it was tasty. Miso soup was good as well. I thought their sushi rolls seemed to be smaller than before; anyways my experience here was wonderful. Service was attentive.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Oct 7, 2014Previous reviewGood sushi with affordable prices. My sashimi combo came fresh with nice presentation of rolls and sashimi. Waitress looked friendly and nice. I got my tea refill often as she came by. I was happy.
I love how I can either choose sushi combo or order 3 different rolls with Miso soup included. Small restaurant, but reasonable price and good food. - Carrie R.Fairview, Vancouver, Canada01Nov 9, 2023

Usually the words "cheap sushi" strike fear in my heart, afraid that the price is an indication of quality. However, Sushi Mania was recommended to me for reasonably priced sushi, so I figured it was worth a try.
Sushi Mania is a tiny restaurant. They have two-item and three-item combos for $5.95 and $8.95 and various sushi combos starting at a mere $7.95. Combinations come with miso soup, which was served with a spoon. This was a first for me.
My daughter, who does not eat sushi, got a two-item combo of avocado roll and teriyaki chicken. The chicken even came with rice. It was the perfect meal for her.
I NEVER eat sashimi because of the cost and could not pass up the opportunity to get a sashimi combo. The combo had 3 pieces of salmon, two tuna, and a few pieces of sushi (tuna, salmon and ebi). For only 25 cents per piece more, you can have wild salmon, instead of farmed.
The cuts of sashimi were quite generous. The fish was fresh adelicious.
My husband went with the Tuna Salmon roll combo, which came with 6 salmon and 6 tuna rolls, and a couple of pieces each of tuna and salmon sushi. Each of our combos were $8.95, which using current exchange rates, translated into US $6.74 - what a deal!
My only regret about the visit was not having ordered more food! I could not believe that this place wasn't packed with people waiting outside, but I think we were just lucky. Vancouver is famed for their sushi, and Sushi Mania proves that you don't have to pay dearly to enjoy it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 25, 2018
Wow, this quaint Korean operated Sushi joint really made me happy - my tummy and my wallet.
Came on Sunday for lunch, I gravitated towards the lunch specials. You may select 2 items for $6 or 3 items for $9. Lots of good choices there (see menu picture).
I ordered tuna maki rolls, dynamite rolls and the 3 piece salmon nigiri sushi. Fish was fresh. Though the rolls were not Works of Art, they all tasted quite good with a decent amount of ingredients. Each meal came with complimentary miso soup too. Great service - attentive and polite. They were also kind enough to give me their house hot sauce to spice things up, Korean style.
Place was quite small seating 22 people. It filled up in 45 minutes after opening on a rainy Sunday. Not bad at all.
Overall, this seems to be a great place to catch a quick lunch with the kids. Very easy on the wallet too!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Djc C.Vancouver, Canada02Feb 22, 2024
Working on a jobsite nearby. Have ordered in the past from them and it was adequate. Recently , not so much so. The three item lunch box was somewhat of a joke. The spicey tuna rolls were mushy tuna in sriracha, the rice was glue, the tempura was three sweet potato rings. The beef teriyaki was cold fatty and pretty much horrible. The whole meal was so uninspired .( the miso soup was good , but, go figure..) Went to pick up at 12:15 .. peak hour, and the place was empty.. somewhat telling for a main street location. Seriously disappointing. The crows in my alley ate the rest of my lunchbox. The next day I drove all the way to Kits and preordered a #3 box from sushi Nova. For the same price I was treated to a culinary feast. Like so much food, salad , chefs treats. Seriously disappointing Sushi Mania. The crows in my alley ate the rest of your lunchbox. The hosts were really nice the way, not their fault.
