My friends and I all got breakfast sandwiches and they were amazing. I would definitely recommend the salmon breakfast sandwich. The biscuit was flakey and buttery, the salmon fresh and cooked nicely. It was a small meal but filled us up. I also got the chia cookie, it was like a molasses gingersnap cookie, amazing. The only down side to our experience was the cashier forgot to make our latte and we had to go up and remind her that we ordered it. Other then that, we were glad we chose to eat here.

Great food & loved the setting. Staff was really nice & allowed us to linger w our little ones after they'd stopped serving lunch. Would love to take a class there some day

The Dirty Apron Delicatessen gives Sur La Table before it blew up, minus the kitchen products, add the food & snacks. I ordered the breakfast sandwich with sausage and an oat milk cappuccino. Both delish! I loved the lighting and the plants in the space-- warm and inviting truly the best way to start the day.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Deborah F.Carmel Country Highlands, San Diego, CA0239Jun 6, 2024
Delicious food and the nicest staff. The seating area is very nice (clean, spacious, and full of natural light).

Highly recommend this place. The sandwiches were delicious and the restaurant was in a beautiful old building - a perfect spot to enjoy lunch. Will definitely return the next time I'm in Vancouver.

Had breakfast here. Excellent avocado toast (generous portion for reasonable price), great espresso drinks, and a delicious smoothie (mango, kale, & other good and healthy ingredients). Place was virtually empty which was odd because a place this good should be packed! But maybe we were a little late for the breakfast crowd. There was a kids' cooking class happening at their cooking school next door (you must pass through it to use washrooms).
The place is attractively decorated, spacious, and a great menu. Farm-to-table, California cuisine vibes. If I had a place like this in my neighborhood I'd eat there a couple times a week. Highly recommend!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Aug 25, 2019
What a gem of a place! My fiancé and I were staying in an Airbnb down the street. Originally I wanted to visit Jam Café, but we slept in and the line was way too long. Fortunately there was no line at Dirty Apron, and I might have enjoyed my experience there a little more than I did at Jam Café later in the week.
I ordered the avocado toast, while my fiancé got huervos rancheros. Living in San Francisco, I've had a lot of avocado toast, but this one took the cake. I wanted to cry out of happiness at how good it was. My fiancé wasn't particularly hungry so I finished half of his dish too. Tasty!
Too bad our schedule was filled for the weekend, otherwise we would have taken cooking classes! I was tempted to buy the cookbook but resisted due to lack of luggage space. At any rate, I would go out of my way to come back to Dirty Apron on my next trip to Vancouver. From sandwiches to coffee, this place has it all!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Apr 28, 2019
This turned out to be a great find.
We were on our way to a downtown hotel and planned to stop by another place for lunch but the line was too long - so we found the Dirty Apron near by and made a quick decision.
We were greeted by extremely friendly and hospitable staff answering all of our questions and providing great recommendations.
My bride went with the Salmon Biscuit ($9) and loved it! My son and I both went with Dirty Deal options ($16) which were great values including a side and a drink. My boy selected Thai Beef Sandwich and Roasted Tomato Soup of the day and seemed to enjoy it. I went with the Roasted Chicken sandwich and Orzo salad. The sandwich was tasty (loved the baguette) and the salad was very good - as my family kept stealing bites.
Very casual and laid back atmosphere - all while a cooking school was going on next door. Definitely recommend this spot.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 13, 2018
We got down 'n' dirrrty with The Dirty Apron...okay no, we didn't, but I just felt like saying that! In reality we had good, clean fun and a delicious (and nutritious) meal here! I can say with confidence and a happy belly that this is one of my favorite eateries in all of Vancouver!
My husband and I flew into town for a long weekend and literally walked off the Canada Line subway from the airport and straight over to The Dirty Apron (our flight landed at 10:19am, so breakfast/brunch was our first mission!).
Our order:
- Green Machine Smoothie Bowl (absolutely delicious and artfully topped with granola, shredded coconut, chia seeds, slivered almonds, blueberries, sliced banana and strawberries, and grapes...yes, grapes! I never thought of putting grapes on my smoothie bowls before, and I loved it!)
- Hummus & Avocado Grilled Sandwich (super fresh and tasty, and the perfectly toasted sourdough bread was light and smelled amazing!)
- Last but not least, our 2 Almond Milk Lattes, poured into a pair of beautiful ceramic mugs and saucers I might add...I almost wanted to buy them!
We loved the healthy and vegetarian/vegan options here and looking around at all the attractive items to buy to spruce up your home or kitchen. The fact that they also offer cooking classes here has us thinking that we'll be signing up on our next trip back to Vancouver!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Sep 10, 2018
Yum, yum, yum. The menu ain't voluminous nor ultra-chic. The comfort food recipes are honest, tasty and will make your tastebuds and belly sing with happiness.
Bambie and me deliberately were headed for Jam cafe located 100 steps away. Made a special effort to get there. Upon arrival at 10am there was a line of 40 people out on the sidewalk in the pouring rain waiting for tables. How do I put this delicately? Oh, that's fucking ridiculous. No cafe is worth waiting 90 minutes to enter.
We backtrack to Dirty Apron. "It's a cooking school", I tell Bambie. "They are going to be sincere, motivated, and try hard to please". I was right on that prediction. There was just one person in front of us at the order line. In 2 minutes we ordered and paid. Ten minutes later the food arrives. The portions at first glance seem small, but our eyes were deceived. The amount of food of the salmon biscuit and the avocado toast was quite adequate. The side order of bacon, 5 slices, was thick cut, succulent, sweet and juicy. I'm 66 years old, the bacon might be the most delicious I've ever eaten. We finished with macchiato coffees. They also were great quality, as good as most in Italy.
Prices while not bottom dollar are fair. Well, maybe my bottle of kombucha at $7 is priced a tad too high. The meal tariff before kombucha was about $25 Canadian.
The lunch salads and pre-made sandwiches were being put in the display cases while we finished breakfast. They all look scrumptious. If I lived here in Vancouver, this place would be a regular eatery for me.
There are two culinary arts colleges close to my home in Sonoma California,
neither of them produce food as delicious and eye pleasing as the Dirty Apron.
Bravo students! Well done. Excellent job.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0
