Dropped by during lunar new year. There were performances going on so quite loud and difficult to hear the lady to order. Not much for ambiance as it's just in a mini mall food court.
I ordered the small beef pares & my date got the Lomi. Didn't take a picture of the beef pares because it was quite small & didn't look much like the pictures on Yelp. The soups were all super hot temperature wise. Try not to scLd your tongue.
The Lomi was humongous! My favorite part was the crispy pork skin. Large serving of pork as well. A bit thicker texture of a broth but it was more than enough.
Wait for food was a bit long. We waited for almost 20 minutes. Perhaps there were lots of to go orders.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 26, 2023
Home style food packed with flavour. The food court vibe-no ambiance but the portion size and great customer service makes up for it. Your are going there for the food and they delivered. Can't wait to go again to try other items.
The only true home cooked Filipino food I ever had was from my friend's mother-in-law. I truly miss her pancit and lumpia. Now I have found The Filipino Noodle Joint and happy again!
My friend and I come Saturday evening. We didn't know what we wanted and they helped by asking questions to near down our choices. We ordered the Palabok Pancit and Baon Box pork belly. Both noodle styles were delicious. The pork belly was a bit dried for my taste but the vinegar sauce helped it. We also had the Buko Pandan and Ube Macapuno drinks-both not too sweet. We came hungry, got stuffed and also took some leftovers home.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Carmen V.Fall City, WA202111Jun 29, 2024
The food was like a comfort food. The serving size was enough to feed a small family.

Hi all!
Being an asian of filipino descent, it pains me to write this review. But i believe honesty and constructive criticism should be used to get better and improve for the future.
After hearing about this place in chinatown plaza, i just had to go see and try for myself.
So ordered the longganisa with rice and egg. And had an order of palabok for take out. These 2 are classic filipino dishes, so to me, they will be a good barometer for me to gauge how authentic this place is.
For food court prices, they can be a bit pricey. But most reviews on google and yelp have mentioned that they make it up for quantity.
The longganisa with rice and egg, was NOT typical of a filipino bfast. First, the rice wasnt fried garlic rice. Next, the longganisa was cut in half and fried. This made it very dry, as all the juices have already dried up. Too bad bec they used ilocano longganisa. All the flavours vanished. As for quantity, its really 3 pcs whole longganisa cut in half to give the appearance of 6. But they packed the bowl with so much rice.
Next the palabok. It was simply not good. Yes, it was packed to the brim, and lots of shrimp and egg were added and all the trimmings...but the sauce...which is the most integral part of the dish, was bland and out of flavour. It lacked the essence of the dish. The colours were great, but the taste was simply not there.
The aromatic annatto flavours, as well as the smoky tinapa fish and pork flavours were all lacking.
But what lacked in flavours was made up for initiative and excellent customer service. After speaking to the owners, i believe their intentions are pure and they are genuinely trying to provide good food. It is their first foray into the food service in vancouver, so yes, there will be growing pains and numerous adjustments to be made.
Still worth a try and some of their other noodle dishes and fried pork looks really enticing.
Cheers! Happy eating!Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Lanss A.DuPont, WA19143Feb 19, 2024

A Filipino feast from here that we've been anticipating for months! So glad we finally got the opportunity to try this hidden gem in the city because all their food was delicious and satisfied with that home-cooked nostalgic feel. Highly recommend everything we got, especially the halo-halo with ice cream! That was the perfect dish to finish our meal with. Also, we aren't exaggerating when we say that their portions are HUGE!

Ordered the ilocos pancit while I was in the area picking up cake since I noticed they were a new joint. 10/10 for value - the takeout box was packed to the brim and felt like a lot of food! The longganisa was quite tasy and I didn't feel like the noodles were too oily, and I thoroughly enjoyed the black pepper as it helped spice up the dish. Our only comment was the bagnet was more salty than we'd like and perhaps because it was prepared as takeout, it wasn't crispy anymore when we ate it at home. I would recommend eating this immediately to experience the fresh flavours and then requesting a takeout container for the rest (as you definitely won't be able to finish it all in one sitting!)
Staff were friendly and quick to make my order.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Hao F.Boston, MA969723Jul 7, 2022
My wife and I are visiting from Boston. She found this place while we were killing time at a bubble tea shop. Without a doubt this is one of the best meals I've had in Vancouver.
The owners were very friendly and I appreciate their suggestion about ordering the Pandan drink. It was delicious and I loved that it wasn't too sweet. I ordered the pork adobo box and my wife ordered the palabok. The portions was extremely generous. Seriously I'm a big eater and I couldn't finish everything.
The stir fired noodles in the pork adobo box was surprisingly good as it had an amazing sauce, good blend spice and perfect heat that made the noodles outstanding. The pork adobo was also amazing. I've cooked adobo before but there is no way I could cook anything as good as what I've eaten here. The palobok was also outstanding. Highly recommend everyone to check this place out!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ruby A. V.Mississauga Valley, Mississauga, Canada2624Apr 20, 2022First to Review
Absolutely LOVED eating at this new filipino take out joint!!! My belly left happy with a large amount of food left over.
Located inside the Chinatown Plaza, this food gives a feel of home with the obvious Illocos touch.
I ordered the beef pares which is an appropriate size for 3 or 4 people as an initial app. Also got the lumpia (An absolute MUST), Filipino hot dog, a crunchy and cheesey experience (you just have to!!) And the Siaopao (So YUMMMM).
You can eat your meal right at the food court, steps aways from the store front. I left with nearly an entire full bowl of soup. Totally worth a visit especially with the friendly service and the outstanding quality of food.
Highly recommend and I'll be back for round 2!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
