Aug 24, 2020Updated reviewThe grilled cheese sandwich is awesome! So cheesy and with stringy cheese which I love. It goes very well with the tomato basil soup.
Another favorite is the mango chicken wrap which is really big. Stuffed to the brim. The half portion is very filling.

It is often busy on weekday lunch period, but when the weather is nice, it is great to just get your food to go and eat by the park or waterfront.
It serves basic food like sandwiches, soups, coffee, baked goods and the famous cinnamon buns.
I do like the cinnamon bun, sticky and chewy and all so good. Perfect with coffee. I also like the soup which is fresh and delicious.

(I'm a huge fan of the grilled cheese + tomato soup but their chef has been all over the world and the soups are always amazing!) Also appreciate all of the options they have for gluten free / vegan cuisines.

Apr 13, 2019Stumbled upon this cafe in New West after having our car serviced at Ford. I ordered a latte with cashew milk while the hubby ordered their breakfast wrap. The lady at the counter was really nice and friendly.
My latte was well made while the breakfast wrap was served grilled and it was tasty and filling.
The cafe has a homey ambience and they had lots of seating available. Wifi is free and bathrooms are clean (just ask them for the key). Street parking is available with a fee.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0

I MEANT to get the Thai wrap, but I guess my heart wanted the grilled cheese and tomato basil soup, so my mouth complied when I called in my order in. I just love it so much! I will eventually get the Thai wrap one day!

The one thing I hate about burritos is that half the ingredients are in one bite and the other half are on the other side. This burrito was no different. I got a half size ($6.98 after taxes). I did like it, especially the bites that had the sauce, fresh mango and rice. The bites on the other side, being the chicken were just meh. The chicken wasn't seasoned and it didn't really have any of the sauce. Overall, I probably would get this again, but I'd get a full burrito. Half wasn't enough and it's $11 for a full.

Went in with the intention of getting the mango wrap, but I saw they had the tomato soup and grilled cheese and I could pass that up. As like before, it was AMAZING. I will always get this if I'm going there and it's available. If not, then I'll try the mango wrap
My second time getting the grilled cheese with creamy tomato basil soup. Omg, it is soooooo good. Totally worth the $10 spent. I had it at 1 and it's 5:30 and I'm still so full. They put a lot of cheese in the grilled cheese and the fresh basil is an amazing touch. The soup guys! THE SOUP!!! I have never tried, nor wanted to try tomato soup before having this (via a coworkers recommendation) and she was not wrong and this has set an incredibly high bar to any future tomato soups I might try!

PennyandRusty P.Vancouver, Canada66033442Oct 5, 2018If you find yourself near the BC Provincial Law Courts in New Westminster and you're looking for a place to hide out, you only have to go across the street to duck inside The Hide Out Cafe.
The Hide Out Cafe is a self-acclaimed "hidden gem" which serves up paninis, wraps, salads as well as Fair Trade coffee. I showed up on a sunny May weekday and decided to try their Grilled Chicken Panini ($10.49) with meaty chunks of chicken, creamy melted cheese, and sun-dried tomatoes. Their menu appears to be limited to whatever they have already prepared for that day.
The panini press gave this sandwich a nice crunchy exterior and turned a rather ordinary sandwich into a pleasantly hot, ooey-gooey treat. Perhaps not the best sandwich that I've had and I'd prefer if the sandwiches were made-to-order, but adequate for the neighbourhood. They also have a hidden patio off the side of the cafe where you can enjoy the sunny weather.

Amazing food. Every thing is premade, usually I would have an issue with that, but when they grill the food up, I wouldn't have known it was premade if I hadn't seen it my self first. By premade they make their meals the day before. They are a smaller and pop shop, I couldn't believe how busy they get , for such a small space .
Recommend : mango chicken wrap/ or the tuna bagel sandwich, or the breakfast wrap.
