The Keg Steakhouse + Bar

Bomb af. Had the prime rib sandwich. It was delicious. Absolutely delicious. They changed the television channel so I could watch the NFL draft. Great spot. I would definitely recommend

Atmosphere, service and food were amazing. Cameron was our waiter and he did an excellent job especially with how busy it was. Wife had the glazed salmon and it was awesome. I had the 14oz Prime Rib and it was almost too much but so good I damn near finished it. The only negative was the Black and Blue drink I got. It tasted as if it was straight out of the ocean. I've never tasted salt so strong in all my life. Outside of the drink, everything else was exceptional. Will eat here again for sure.

Hubby wanted steak during our trip and after doing research, I decided to go to The Keg for dinner.

We ordered 18 oz prime rib with baked potato as the side l, it also came with fried onions as side.
We also ordered thr 20 oz rib steak (bone in) with twice baked potato and it came with really delicious sautéed mushrooms.
They were having lobster special for the summer so we opted for the lobster au gratin. We shared everything since we wanted to try all of them :)

The complimentary bread and garlic herb butter was really delicious. The bread was served warm and fresh and the butter was delicious. We had to stop ourself eating too much to ensure we saved room for the food we ordered.

The rib steak was perfectly charred and we could certainly tell the meat was of good quality and they allowed the meat to rest as there was no bleeding as we cut our steak! The meat was cooked perfectly medium rare! The seasoning was a bit on tbe lighter side, I would prefer a tad more salt, but since the meat was of good quality, I enjoyed the meat too. The twice baked potato was good and again lightly seasoned imo. The skin was a tad dryer than I would like though. But overall it was good. The mushrooms were delisssshhh!!!

The prime rib came with a lot of fat though, but again the meat was good quality so it did not taste too bloody despite being medium rare. The seasoning was peppery and the au jus was just alright, I've had better ones. I loved the horseradish though because it was strong!

The lobster gratin was very delicious, but be warned...it's quite rich and oily lol.

Overall we had a pleasant meal. The service was very very friendly too and everyone was super nice. We certainly recommend the Keg if you want to splurge for good beefy meals! We got seated by the window overseeing the water so that added bonus point too.

Good customer service makes things right when things go wrong. Thanks to the management at the Keg.

Very disappointed! The baseball sirloin was recommended and we knew it would be rare but it lacked flavor and was hard to eat because it was almost raw. I ordered the Oscar on the side and I couldn't believe it was 3 small scallops, 3 small shrimp and some limp asparagus with a small pitcher of cold Bearnaise sauce. I can't believe they even let that leave the kitchen!
The server did his best, but the food just wasn't good at all.

My parents came here a month ago and loved it hence they brought me here to celebrate new year early. We made reservation via OpenTable and were led to our table shortly after arrival.

The restaurant is in a nice location. I've been to a few Keg establishments before and this one has the same consistent decoration throughout. We asked for a window table and they were able to accommodate.

Our server's name was Heather and she was great, very attentive and always on top of things such as making sure our glasses were full.

We ordered Escargot as appetizer, top sirloin, filet mignon and peppercorn New York as our main course. We also had cheesecake and billy miner pie as dessert.

My parents loved it and that's why they insisted to come here again shortly after their previous visit. My peppercorn New York steak was a little over, I asked medium but I think it was closer to well done, though it is not a big deal for me.

Overall the food was great and we would definitively visit again.

We were eating a dinner at the Fort Street Keg in Victoria, total seven people in our group. We had to wait over an hour for our food. Baked potatoes were cold and the steak that was ordered well-done was medium raw, the steak that was ordered medium-raw was well-done. Otherwise the food was ok. It took a while to get a check, because the waiter was talking 10 minutes with some other guests.

Last night in town, ate at the Fort Street Keg in Victoria and the meal was terrible. Ordered the Prime rib, medium, received blue rare/raw, was complimented with an ice cold baked potato and cold greasy deep fried onions. Other patrons were complaining about their meals while we were waiting for ours. Something very wrong at this location, many good places to eat in downtown Victoria, this is not one of them!

Well, I'm not sure what to say..
We have been going to the Keg for years. Decided to go for our 35th anniversary and regret the decision, and it was disappointing, to say the least.

Cold Prime Rib
Cold lobster
Cold dipping butter
Medium steak served Rare.

And Mama's daiquiri was a poor attempt at something great.

I know you can do better.

Meh, the food was okay, we were very disappointing after reading the positive reviews.
The evening started off positively enough. We were greeted at the door by the sweetest young man in the world. he was so over the top adorable, he said it was his second night and was excited to be there, and made us excited to be there.
Our server was very sweet but knew minimal about the alcohol they had behind the bar.
We started with lobster bisque which tasted like it came out of a can. We also crab cakes, they were so flaky they wouldn't even stay together, they basically fell apart on the plate; which you would have needed a spoon to eat them. I ordered New York strip, dry and flavorless.. I also ordered a side of cauliflower mash. All they did was mashed it. No salt, no pepper; it was dreadful. My partner ordered rib steak, which was over seasoned but he said was okay. He also ordered a bake potato which was good.
In the restaurants defense the reviews are extremely good! Lots of people love this place. Maybe it was just a bad night but we will not be returning.
