The Canucks are back and this might be the best place to experience the game (other than being in the arena)! This sportsbar is at the arena and you hear the announcer and the BUZZER when the team scores! The experience is great especially during a game. There is even a Canucks merchandise area and since we came in early, we checked it out and got a hat! Even if you are not a hockey fan (like myself), it's still very enjoyable , and they have some great food!

The SportsBar Nachos were HUGE!!! Toasty Nachos mixed with three cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole and more, top it up with some bacon and it's a dreamy delight! Every table almost orders one it seems so you can tell it's a must for the game! I also found their Lettuce Wraps pretty good and interactive. It was pretty big for me and I couldn't finish it in the end.

Surprisingly, they are somewhat strict with the rules. They made us sanitize, gave us these cool towelettes and wear masks when leaving the tables for anything. They spend a good amount of time really explaining the rules to keep everyone safe, which I really liked.

Although they are pricey than the average sports bar, this is probably the closest experience to the arena so I guess it's worth for the atmosphere!

Price/quality (0/4): I ordered the burger during a viewing party. The patty had a lot of chewy bits and pieces that were indicative of a low-quality patty. For a burger that expensive, I absolutely did not expect the patty to be less tasty than a McDonald's patty. There was a time when the patties were better, but that was a long time ago.

Service (1/1): Service was a bit slow, but the restaurant was pretty busy, so I'll give them a pass.

Would I come here again: Only if there's an event. And I'd probably stick to beer.

This is a great place to come to if you're looking for a pre game meal or if you just wanna hang out with friends for an afternoon meal ‍‍. Not too far from the arena (well it's in the arena lol). Great food, great company, great atmosphere and staff. Do keep in mind that they're only open on home game days (not sure if there's any special days they open for like concerts?) and they open three hours before puck drop (according to what I saw on their website). I would also recommend making a reservation. We didn't really see a happy hour menu so not sure if they have one or not.

Come a couple times for Canucks meet ups. It's on the backside of Rogers Arena and might be missed until you find it the first time. It's a bar so it gets fairly loud and the lighting can be weird. Great place to watch sports events though with all the TVs. Can probably see 3-4 screens no matter your seat.

Food is a bit more pricey than normal. Specials during games for beer are pretty handy and can help save some of that cash on dishes. I can't really speak to many of the items on the menu but the fish and chips are great. It is literally the biggest piece of fish I've ever seen that's served here. It's actually bigger than the two pieces you get at most other spots. Super nice generous amount of lemon is provided to give the fish that extra zest. Plentiful amount of fries served as well. It is virtually the only dish I've had here cause it's so good.

Overall it's a nice bar to go for sports events. It's been neat going during Canucks games as well and hearing the crowd roar and cheering on with other patrons. Thumbs up for the environment and experience.

Incredibly overpriced for very mediocre food. The only value this place has is its connection to the arena itself for pre gaming for a hockey game or other event, but considering the wealth of option a mere 5 min walk from the arena it certainly isn't worth it.

I was pleasantly surprised at my first experience here for the recent Canucks & Leafs game.

I made a reservation online, and they called to confirm the day of, requested seating at the bar which was no problem.

The entrance is near the Georgia Viaduct on the upper level and you do not need a ticket to just go to the sports bar. There is no view of the ice/arena from inside unless you also have a ticket.

Service was very attentive, and surprisingly it wasn't that busy, particularly after the game started.

I was expecting the usual high priced mediocre food and beverage options, but was treated to a thoughtful menu and wine list. A good selection with something for everyone from your expected nachos and chicken wings to a little more upscale.

Started with the whipped ricotta which tasted homemade, came drizzled with olive oil and warm grilled bread. Followed by the tuna tataki which was also very good.

The wine markups are extremely reasonable by the bottle - better than a lot of Vancouver restaurants.

Fair bit of energy for watching the game and you can hear some of the action from the fans at the game. Nice change to take our time, you can stay after the game until last call if you like. I would definitely come here again, even just to eat & drink.

The past few weeks I've been hearing a lot about The SportsBar Live at Rogers Arena. Let me be the one to tell you that the hype around this joint is well deserved.

You enter the SportsBar at 99 West Georgia on the upper part of the Georgia viaduct. I believe you can reserve a table or just walk-in (no ticket needed), I would highly recommend you book reservations because this place is packed on an event night.

Once upstairs in the bar the first thing you'll notice is the 120 4K televisions and a 16.5 foot HD projection screen so you won't miss a second of the big game. The SportsBar also has Vancouver's longest bar which is the length of an NHL blue line. They also have a live DJ for before and after the big event. My favourite part about the whole bar is the fact you can see right into the rink so when the Vancouver Canucks score you feel like you're right at the game... because YOU ARE!

The menu is loaded with bar favourites reimagined by Executive Chef Robert Bartley. The food itself is all locally sourced with fresh ingredients complimented by delicious cocktails and a long list of craft beers, fine wines and spirits.

On my personal first trip to the SportsBar I ordered a Pound of Hot Wings, the Mexican Corn Dogs with Roja Sauce and Lime Crema. The wings were battered, plump covered in sauce and served with a homemade ranch dip, they were everything you would want from a wing. The little corn dogs were unique, super tasty, maybe a little weird looking but I would definitely get them again. For my main meal I ordered the Sports Bar Cheese Burger which came with a Canadian Triple A Ground Chuck patty, American Cheddar Cheese, Shredded Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion, Pickle and The SportsBars Famous Sauce. The burger was loaded with flavour, juicy and the toppings were super fresh.

The atmosphere in there is the best you could ever want from a bar. I would say it's one of the coolest bars in Vancouver. They have A LOT of well trained staff so you aren't waiting to long for food or drinks.

In conclusion I can say that I am pleasantly surprised with the SportsBar Live at Rogers Arena. They haven't been open that long and I'd like to think that they will only become more polished over time. I will DEFINITELY be back soon!

PS: You know you're at the right bar to watch a Canucks game when you see Trevor Linden and Kirk McLean mingling with the fans.

Nice atmosphere but it gets pretty loud on game day.
We sat in the purchased seats that are attached to the restaurant and bar area but it is too distracting as you watch the game as the radio/ tv broadcast announcers are blaring in your ears. It is a little unsettling as it's like sitting watching tv and having the broadcast in your ear but you are watching the game live. I don't like John Shorthouse or John Garret at the best of times so that does help matters but it still is not worth paying for bowl seats and have the game announcer and commentary and the ads as well while you watch in the arena seats.
Food was good in the restaurant but when we were in our seats the servers came by with multiple orders that nobody ordered or they got the wrong rows and seats as it just got passed around and there was no takers. Must be new staff and still in training .
Nachos were pretty good and good game day staple.

We came here as a group of 4 when they first opened on a very cold night. There was a Canucks game playing. I smiled when I saw the restaurant was called "The Sports Bar". Easy to remember.

You will walk upstairs, there's a nice bouncer who joked with us before we walked up. It seems causal up there, the waitresses are probably more dressed up then you ( cute LBD attire). We ordered some salads and beers, whiskey , and wine. My husband's beer smelled like chocolate, yummm for a non beer drinker.

We inquired about their interesting menu prices , many items seem to have random cents, example , a salad for$ 14.85 vs other items at $11.23. My husband joked that it had a deeper meaning - jerseys for the hockey players. We concluded it can't be for ingredient taxes since it was so "random". And.. my husband was right. The cents in the prices are famous players' jersey numbers! From my first impression, the Sports Bar seems like a fun , friendly sports bar since it's literally at the stadium. It was a plus that they had a Live girl DJ that night .

      This smelled so good!
