It has been my favorite spot near my place for many years--good cocktails & food with Fillmore Street vibe. But last time, I made a reservation, and they gave me the table next to the kitchen & restroom (I could see the trash bin in the kitchen directly). I saw many empty seats near the windows, so I asked the server if I could change the table. She said, "You can go to the entrance and ask the manager." I was a bit confused, and I asked the other server to help. He was super friendly and helped me to change the table. But... the first server kept staring at me and whispered with other staff for a while after I changed the table. I felt pretty uncomfortable. Do I have to sit wherever the restaurant assigned me..? Why did she keep staring and checking on me? I'm still confused.

Stumbled upon this when searching for a late brunch one weekend walking along Fillmore st- loved the bright airy interior with the tall ceiling and open plan, just really looked fresh and inviting with nice details to the decor and clean, bright feel to the space.
Greeted when we walked in by a pleasant server that was able to seat us right away at a cozy table- paper menus with their brunch and lunch menu with good choices seemingly more health focused with good quality ingredients.
We opted for the polenta braise and uova alla san benedettina with a side of lemon ricotta pancake. Took a little wait for the food but when it arrived it had great presentation and my gosh was it delicious. It really surprised us, especially the polenta which was full of flavor and melt in your mouth texture. Even the side of the lemon ricotta pancake was beautifully presented with some apples and like a burnt caramel sauce and raspberries on top, everything just bursting with flavor and good portion sizes left us full and satisfied. We really loved it and hope to be back again soon.

Hi Cara, We are glad you enjoyed our brunch. Try us out for dinner or lunch as well for great risottos and hand made fresh pasta.

Came here for Brunch on a summer Sunday around Noon. Restaurant was relatively packed, I really like the atmosphere and interior with the open windows and tile decor.

      Got the Banana pancakes.

The pancakes themselves are around a 3.5/5. I definitely enjoyed eating them. They came with like a banana compote on top. However, I have a sweet tooth, so I asked for some maple syrup to go with it. Waiter looked at me like I had just run over his dog, and told me "no" quite forcefully. He also messed up like 3 of our group's drink orders, and brought the check out like 20 minutes after we asked for it. I get it was a busy morning, but not the best impression from this place. I have heard great things about the dinner menu, so would like to come back and see for myself.

Lovely dinner spot with good food and solid drinks.

Starter Foods - burrata crostini was to die for. meatballs not so much, kind of small and overly bready. insalata di melone was tasty but pricey at $18 for seasoned watermelon and cucumber

Pastas - my favorite was the rigatoncini. agnolotti was too al dente for my taste. fazzoletti al pesto was bland and everyone's least favorite pasta

Risotto - we were recommended the alla milanese with ossobuco add on, and this was my favorite main of the night

Drinks - all the drinks looked great! I got the sprezzatura which was refreshing and well balanced though on the sweeter side

Service was good. The indoor space looked great, and the outdoor parklet we were in was comfortable. Parklet was warmed with heaters and closed off from the street with glass.

from left to right: alla milanese risotto with ossobuco, fazzoletti al pesto, agnolotti del plin, rigatoncini

Hi Emily, Thanks for the great detailed shout out. I agree the Risotto Alla Milanese with Ossobuco is a winner every time! Don't forget that we are open for lunch Monday thru Friday and brunch on the weekends!

I love Tailor's son and think it is so underrated. Located on Fillmore street, it's great if you can sit outside and people watch. If you're inside, it's a stunning space with super tall ceiling, skylights, old crown moldings and unique art. It's really a beautiful space - they've nailed the details down to the lighting fixtures.

We started with drinks - my fiancé ordered a martini, excellent but VERY strong. I got a spritz which was delicious.

Next we had the seasonal snap peas- so flavorful bright and delicious.

Then we had 3 pastas. The Raghu (I believe), lobster pasta, and a mushroom pasta. We loved the Raghu and mushroom pasta but would skip the lobster pasta last time. Overall great meal and will be coming back.

Service was great - we brought our own wine and they made sure to keep our glasses full!

Stopped at this popular spot for a date night on a Thursday! It's a great location on Fillmore and the food was yummy. It wasn't my favorite Italian spot but it was still good!

I loved the budino for dessert! It was rich and the flavors with the hazelnuts was amazing.

      The service was wonderful

I loved my recent weekday lunch here with two of my girlfriends! We decided to try out The Tailor's Son new weekday lunch menu and we weren't disappointed.

We ordered a few things to share, including the kampachi crudo, burrata crostino, insalata di mare, bucatini all'amatriciana, seafood risotto, and the coffee cardamom sorbet for dessert. Everything was so delicious, but my favorite app was the kampachi crudo (perfect balance of acidity), and my favorite entree was the risotto. I liked that both the warm seafood salad and the seafood risotto had tons of seafood in them.

The interior is super cute and it's a fun spot on Fillmore! I'd recommend.

The food was delicious. We ordered the crudo, focaccia, buratta, and salt cod brandade. All of it was well executed and delicious.

The drinks left something to be desired. We ordered an alcoholic beverage: soft as silk and a na mocktail: lavender honey spritz. Both were lacking in flavor and depth.

The server was interesting. We couldn't quite place it, but he seemed very strange. Maybe he was having an off day but super off vibes. He didn't have very good timing, either when approaching the table or bringing the check. He didn't check in on us at any point in the meal... maybe he is new to serving.

We sat outside, which I enjoyed. Cute decor. All around a solid experience. Will definitely go back but will be having wine instead of cocktails.

This was such a cute restaurant to get a meal! My friend and i randomly stumbled upon it for a Sunday lunch and there were cute coffee/mocktails/cocktails and cute decor and delicious food. I got a latte and my friend got this coffee orange flavored mocktail that was delicious!

She got a Salmon toast meal and I got a Ragu polenta, both were delicious!

I would definitely come back here again!

Our waiter gave excellent recs, all my favorites were things he had suggested. Broccolini was good but nothing special, waiter suggested asparagus which was incredible. Pesto was good but nothing special, waiter recommended the squash risotto and the mushroom cream pasta and both were spectacular. When I come back next, I'll just ask the waiter what to get and I'm sure I'll have a perfect meal. The cocktails were good and the wine selection included some nice Italian options. Indoor and outdoor seating, dogs allowed on the patio. Indoor can accommodate groups about 6. They take reservations and are quite busy on the weekends so would either eat at off times or make a rez.
