      Update 3/26/22:
I came back here for a tire change (I forgot about my bad experience 7 years ago) and once again had a terrible experience.
First issue: I got a deal on tire rack but when I got there they charged me a much larger amount. I had to remind them about the deal I got from tire rack, even though I clearly told them I got the tires from tire rack and they are well aware of the deal. The exact same thing happened to my dad so they probably do this to everybody hoping soemone won't notice or won't insist on the deal.

Second issue: after changing the tiers, the flat tire sensor started going on and off randomly. This has been happening constantly for months now. I don't know for sure if they caused it but seems like a big coincidence that this started exactly after the tire change.. So I called them and and told them that this started happening right after they changed the tiers and asked if they could fix it. The response was to tell me how much they will charge me for the work (up to $600 for all 4 wheel).

Learn from my mistakes and don't go here!! Now I will never in my life go to another Wheel Works again. They lost a customer for life.

      Original experience in 2016:
Changed my tiers here and when I got the car back my subwoofer was broken. Whoever placed my spare back in the trunk was careless and cut the connecting wires. Had to do half the fix myself and went to them to do the rest because I didn't have the proper tools. They made the fix but it took some convincing. Tire change was done well but the rest of the experience was unpleasant.

i think what happens with this type or business is that when good things happen no one bothers to submit a review but when bad things happen... oh boy do we all hear about it.

i have been coming to wheel works for years, perhaps even decades and i have had nothing but timely and professional service from these guys. i worked with the manager ken today and he got to me immediately, told me what was what, was friendly but also was quick about it.

if you have good experiences here write about it, this place does not deserve the low ratings that it has.

      Updated review

      Update to this recent service:

I had made an appointment for 8/19 to try and get these tires installed again. Dropped off vehicle at 8:30am and vehicle had (4) new tires and aligned by 10:30am. I couldn't have been more pleased with how they took care of me that morning! Thank You John! You are the greatest!

Drove in there first thing in the morning for some information about an inspection left there with a nail and a bolt in my front tire. I turned around told them I need it fixed. He said he couldn't do it till tomorrow. I do not recommend this place if they don't clean up after themselves and don't take responsibility

I don't normally give low rating for bad service, but this time, I have to. I chose this place as it's close to me, but their service is not up to par. I dropped off my Honda at 8:00 am for an oil change and general inspection. It took over four hours to complete. When I got my car back, I knew something was wrong. When I got home, I checked and found that the skid plate was not properly screwed in and was hanging. Although it didn't seem serious, I was very disappointed with the service. It's overpriced and under-served. For the worst part, it was their waiting time; every time they took at least three hours to fix or change oil.

Skid plates are not screwed properly after oil change.

I had a terrible experience. First off, my initial appointment was canceled because several mechanics didn't show up for work. For my re-scheduled appointment, I dropped the car off in the morning just for an oil change, and didn't get the car back until 24 hours later, again because some mechanics didn't show up for work. And they forgot to do some of the work that they were supposed to do, which I didn't realize until I got home.

This is some of the worst run operations for a mechanic shop I've ever seen....and that's saying something

Made an appointment at this location in Daly City on 6/12 for an AC diagnostic. Dropped off my car and it turned out the machine was not working. Happens, what can you do? I made another appointment for 6/22 at the San Mateo location. On 6/21 I called Daly City to check if their machine was fixed and was told "yes". Not wanting to drive out to San Mateo I cancelled that appointment and reschedule in Daly City for 6/25. Show up this morning and the machine was never fixed. Whomever I spoke with never even bothered to check. The best Kenneth the manager could do was give me an apology. Wouldn't even communicate with the San Mateo location to help me out. Is there any surprise this shop has a 2.3 star rating?

Strongly recommend to go to any other shop.

I've purchased many tires from Wheel Works over the years including two sets from this Daly City store. I've dealt with the crowds and waited around even with appointments booked. The last straw is coming in with a puncture to a A/T tire that they wouldn't touch because I had patched it. The puncture was small and in the tread (not sidewall) and the patch was holding. I wanted them to patch it permanently from the inside but they wouldn't even consider it saying there was a liability issue. I purchased these tires from them 40K miles ago and they still have lots of tread left. I will not be be coming back here for tires or service in the future.

Dropped off car at 8am told them that we needed a tier repair on on a right rear tier. We had told two representatives that we had attempted to fix the tier, but it was still leaking air and that we were looking for a PROPER TIER PATCH REPAIR. WE EVEN ASKED THEM ABOUT THEIR METHODS OF REPAIR AND IF THEY WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE WHEEL. The representative helping us out told us that a wheel replacement would NOT be necessary and that they would get the tier fix with a PROPER patch. At 3pm we received a call saying that the CAR WAS FIXED, BUT when we arrived they told us NO LEAKAGE WAS FOUND!.

This is when my husban told them there is a visible patch on the right wheel and that there is no leakage because we had JUST FILLED AIR IN THE TIRE so that we could get it to this location to get it fixed. Thats when they gave us a totally different story and told us that if we had fixed the tier their policy would not had allowed them to touch the wheel and that a replacement tier would be needed and pointed out that the person that assisted us was new so he may not have know better. Thats when that we had told 2 representative about our situation and that none of them had indicted to us that it would be a problem. The senior representative that was there in the morning totally ignored us. They officially waisted our time and did absolutely nothing.

After the horrible "service" from this location we called MOES TIER and they gave us same day service in less than 30 mins ! The only reason we chose this place was because it was close to us and we were worried about tier, but all they did was waste our time.

Came in today to get two tires replaced. Was quoted 1 hour "while I waited".
Well, it took over 3 hours!
That was enough time for me to walk into every shop and restaurant at the shopping center and I still had to wait another 30 min in the customer waiting area. They should be honest with the time required instead of wasting customers time. Next time, I'm going to Costco tire center instead.
